Chapter 30

The Joker's Revenge

Chapter 30 The Joker's Revenge

Night, thunderstorm day.

Allen rode his electric bicycle back to Arkham Asylum.

The gatekeeper opened the gate and let them in without giving them any trouble.

"Thank you all for your hard work. Here, feel free to draw any number you like."

Allen took out an unopened pack of cigarettes and gave it to the security personnel.

It has to be said that the Gotham City charity organization is quite humane, even distributing cigarettes. Adhering to the principle that you'll lose out if you don't take them, Allen casually pocketed them.

As for why it was given away...

First, he doesn't smoke.

Secondly, interpersonal relationships and social skills.

If someone guards your gate and opens it for you when you come home late, you should at least show some appreciation; otherwise, it wouldn't be right.

I parked the car and returned to my bed with practiced ease, ready to take a shower and go to sleep, when I saw a familiar face in the next room.

"Little Green, you're back."

Allen greeted Poison Ivy Lillian warmly.

Lillian gave him a disgruntled look, then covered her head with the blanket and pretended not to see him.

After wandering around for only a few days, he was caught and brought back. What kind of good mood could he possibly be?

A short while later, Lillian lifted the blanket to get some fresh air and was horrified to find Allen's entire face pressed against the glass of the cubicle, distorted and deformed, his eyes wide open and staring straight at her.

"Allen, what are you doing?"

"You didn't greet me."

As Allen spoke, his breath condensed on the glass, creating a layer of mist.

That's insane.

He pressed his face against the glass and stared intently at you without even saying hello. Doesn't he know that's kind of scary?

"Yes, I'm back."

Lillian responded reluctantly.

I was really worried that Allen would stay up all night, staring at her like a ghost.

"Good night."

"Good night."

……

Boom!

Lightning flashed across the rainy night.

A figure on the rooftop was emitting painful and maniacal laughter.

Arthur was in deep pain and sorrow, but his laughing disorder caused him to uncontrollably burst into terrifying laughter.

Trembling hands clutched the top of his scarred head, his mind replaying the scene of Allen burning his hair.

At the time, he threatened, he cursed, he begged, but in the end he could not escape the clutches of the killer.

"Batman, Batman, I will repay you a hundredfold, a thousandfold for my suffering."

Arthur clenched his fists in anger and pounded on the concrete fence to vent his resentment.

A lifetime of misfortune ignited the darkness within him, ultimately leading him to become the Joker, feared by everyone in Gotham.

Batman is a criminal's nightmare.

And Arthur, transformed into the Joker, is Batman's nightmare.

But Allen ruined all of that.

When the lighter burned away his green hair, a symbol of his Joker identity, Arthur's Joker identity vanished into thin air.

"Do you want revenge?"

At this moment, a Claw Commander was already behind him.

Arthur turned around and said with a cold smile, "State your terms."

"Batman's identity is Bruce Wayne."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Claw Commander leaped down, giving Arthur no chance to ask any more questions.

"Bruce Wayne?"

Arthur stood frozen in place, recalling memories buried deep within his heart.

He was the one whose mother revealed the secret of his origins before she died: he was Lord Wayne's illegitimate son.

Upon learning the truth, he rushed to Wayne Manor to verify it, only to be met with humiliation and denial from the butler, Alfred.

"Your mother suffers from schizophrenia and was treated at Arkham Asylum. Lord Wayne, out of loyalty to his master, funded her treatment, which is why he imagined the existence of this illegitimate child. Please be realistic and do not have any improper thoughts about the Wayne family."

The butler Afu's words were still fresh in his mind, deeply piercing the young Arthur's heart.

He felt like a pathetic wretch shamelessly trying to seize the Wayne family's assets.

Arthur was willing to stay obediently in Arkham Asylum, but it felt like being with his deceased mother.

"Hahaha……"

Arthur spread his arms wide, threw his head back and laughed, letting the cold rain lash his face. His smile was one of madness and unbridled joy.

"Batman, Bruce, hahaha..."

Hidden in a high-rise building a block away, the owl judges observed Arthur's behavior through binoculars.

Will the Joker be able to pull off his planned scheme?

"It doesn't matter. It's just one of many schemes. Whether it succeeds or not is insignificant."

"Yes, only by deploying multiple strategies simultaneously can we ensure that nothing goes wrong."

"It's funny, the Joker's biological father was an alcoholic, and he always believed that he was Thomas Wayne."

"Anyone struggling to survive at the bottom of society would rather believe a beautiful lie."

……

Bat cave.

Dick drove the construction vehicle into the ground.

Before long, they returned, bringing news that was both lucky and unlucky.

Fortunately, they actually found a pool full of Dionysian factors; unfortunately, Allen's account of the invasion of the Dark Multiverse might be true.

Bruce, having recovered somewhat, arrived at the underground river.

The pool of Dionysian essence emitted a verdant glow, and judging from its color and clarity, it was indeed very pure.

"Father, how could there possibly be the Pool of Lazarus here?"

Damian looked at the pool in shock.

He had seen the Pool of Lazarus used for resurrection in the League of Assassins, but he didn't know that it was the same substance as the Dionysian Factor.

Moreover, the Blade of Redemption has never been found, and the League of Assassins has not performed a resurrection ritual for a long time, simply because the monsters that come back to life are mindless monsters.

Bruce was just as confused; he had always felt they were two different things.

After all, Allen said that the Dionysus Factor is metal, so it should at least resemble mercury, or be somewhat related to liquid metal.

"When Allen comes tomorrow, we'll ask him about the Dionysus factor again."

Bruce was reluctant to destroy the Dionysus Factor, mainly because of its healing and resurrection effects.

He couldn't guarantee that nothing would happen to the people around him; they might need his help someday.

After all, everyone has selfish desires.

Bruce was no exception.

Moreover, he wanted to ask Allen if he had brought back the Blade of Redemption, as using the two together would be equivalent to having an infinite resurrection pool.

During their trip to Silent Hill, he and Oliver left first, unaware of what happened afterward, and may have been lost in the Otherworld.

Therefore, he did not reveal anything about the Blade of Redemption to Damian, lest his rebellious son provoke the Ninja Master.

"Take a small sample and analyze it."

Wayne Enterprises possesses numerous top-tier technologies, and Bruce thought that perhaps they could research a way to eliminate the side effects. If all else fails, he would call upon the Justice League to research it together.

If that still doesn't work, call on the Avengers and share the Dionysus factor research technology.

Superheroes save the world and fight evil, but casualties are inevitable. Solving the Dionysus factor problem would be like owing him an insurmountable favor.

At that time, stand up straight and speak louder. I hope none of you will object.

Thinking of this, Bruce couldn't help but smile knowingly.

"Father, what are you laughing at?"

Damian looked at him with a puzzled expression. In his mind, Bruce had always been a serious and composed man.

Bruce patted the top of his head: "This is an adult matter, kids shouldn't ask."

The unintentional gesture left Damian somewhat bewildered, a strange sense of comfort welling up within him, yet he stubbornly thought: 'This is fatherly love? I don't care.'
