Chapter 21
Justice League and Avengers Together
Chapter 21 Justice League and Avengers Together
ding dong ding dong...
Allen politely rang the doorbell at Wayne Manor.
Butler Afu opened the door and said very politely, "Sir, the young masters and ladies have been waiting for quite some time."
As soon as Bruce got home last night, he pulled up Alan's information about Arkham Asylum and specifically told Alfred not to neglect him.
However, judging from the information, Eren seems to have appeared out of nowhere in Arkham Asylum, and only recently, which makes many things seem illogical.
Because they had known each other before, and Bruce felt that Allen had no bad intentions, he didn't investigate further, mainly because he was busy with other things.
"Ah Fu, this is my first visit, and this is a gift I've prepared for our meeting."
Allen pulled a piece of strawberry cake from his pocket, having casually raided the area on the way here to collect some free supplies.
Afu awkwardly but politely accepted the cake, whose packaging box was already deformed.
It must be said that Wayne Manor is very grand, built on the scale of a European noble castle.
Led by Afu, we took a lift into the bat cave.
At this moment, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Damian, and Batgirl were all waiting.
Actually, there are quite a few members in the Bat Family, but Bruce felt it was unnecessary to call them all, since the escape of a criminal wasn't a major incident.
Damian was humiliated by the hamburger he had tricked last night and didn't give Allen a pleasant look. The thought of the hamburger kept warm under his arm made him feel nauseous.
"With everyone here, let's analyze the master's course of action."
Nightwing removed his mask, revealing a resolute and handsome face. His real name was Dick Grayson, Bruce's adopted son.
However, once he gained some influence, he joined the Teen Titans and spent his days in other cities fighting evil and promoting good.
In reality, Dick's ordinary identity is a police officer, and he specifically took his annual leave to come and help out.
Dick familiarized himself with the controls at the console, bringing up Bruce's travel route from the previous night in order to analyze useful clues.
"You guys go ahead with your work, let me know if you find anything."
Allen knew nothing about encrypted computer peripherals and wandered around the Batcave on his own.
Bruce's cautious nature meant that the electronic devices placed at headquarters were definitely encrypted with special encryption, down to the smallest detail—even the keyboards were different—to prevent outsiders from breaking in and stealing information.
"Starting at 1:30 a.m., the tracker's coordinates kept pausing between the city's high-rise buildings for half an hour to ten minutes at a time, indicating some important discovery, before disappearing at the Wayne Group building location..."
Dick pieced together a complete route and eventually pinpointed the suspicious location.
The problem is that Wayne Tower is the owner's own property, which is tantamount to being kidnapped in his own home.
"The Justice League requests a connection..."
At this moment, a pop-up window appears on the screen.
The group exchanged glances, hesitant about whether to answer the call; usually, Bruce would be the one to answer and conduct the meeting.
"Connect it, it might be something important," Damian said.
When the master is not present, the son has the right to make decisions.
The video call connected, displaying the faces of several people.
Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and other core members of the Justice League.
"Isn't Bruce here?"
Clark looked at the group of teenage heroes with a puzzled expression.
"My father..."
"I am here."
Damian was about to explain when a low response came from the side.
The familiar Batman walked to his seat, and Nightwing stood up to offer him his seat.
"What do you want?"
Batman, with his hands crossed and chin resting on his hands, asked about the meeting's contents with a serious expression.
The members of the Bat Family breathed a sigh of relief; their hearts were finally at ease knowing that their patriarch had returned unharmed.
Because a Justice League meeting was in progress, they were not able to inquire about the details.
Clark briefly described the incident: "Special energy fluctuations were detected in the Southern Hemisphere, and a shielding magnetic field was formed in the Kenyan region. We are preparing to assemble and investigate."
"I'm sorry, I can't come."
"Why?" Clark asked, frowning slightly.
"I'm feeling a bit unwell; men always have those few days every month when they're not feeling well."
Instantly, not only the Justice League members but also the Bat Family members all had their mouths twitching uncontrollably.
You're a grown man, what's wrong with you?
No, he's not the master.
Dick looked around in surprise and was shocked to find that Allen was nowhere to be seen.
His gaze fell on the person in the seat, and he immediately realized that it was Allen in disguise, and that there was a missing suit in the corner equipment slot.
Dick leaned closer to cover up his embarrassment, saying, "The criminals from Arkham and Blackgate have escaped. We can't spare the time in Gotham City right now. Batman was poisoned by gas while chasing the Joker, and his mind hasn't fully recovered yet."
They forced an explanation, but the Justice League members didn't have time to verify its authenticity.
Batman is, in reality, just an ordinary person who relies on his equipment to be invulnerable to blades and bullets, but he could actually be hit by a sudden poison gas attack.
"You can rest assured, you don't need to participate in this operation."
One by one, the Justice League members disconnected from the video call, leaving only Green Arrow remaining in sync.
"You're not Bruce."
Oliver and Bruce are sworn brothers, having trained together in the League of Assassins and devised schemes to woo the two beauties. Their bond is so strong that they can stand back to back with each other.
"Green Arrow, I will never admit that I am Allen."
Allen crossed his arms, a smug grin on his face.
"Allen?"
Oliver pulled back his green hood and said in shock, "I'm so glad you're not dead. I've been pulling strings to find you for over a decade."
"What do you want from me?"
Allen said warily, "I don't owe you any money."
"..."
Yes, it was the man who disappeared.
This incurable mental state feels so relatable.
"Where's Bruce?"
Oliver rationally avoided Allen's rhythm and asked the key questions.
"You make me angry as soon as you say that."
Allen said angrily, "He eloped with Catwoman behind my back and left five kids behind. Can you believe it?"
"..."
Do you want to listen to what you're saying?
Batman and Catwoman elope.
He's been carrying you on his back?!
Nightwing couldn't bear to watch any longer and revealed the reason.
Oliver didn't know whether to help or not, but he was too busy to help find Bruce. He had a regional incident to resolve, involving the lives of hundreds of thousands or even millions of people. Besides, the Bat-Family had already taken action, so there was no need for him to personally intervene at the moment.
End video call.
The five of them glared at each other without prior agreement.
"We're a burden, aren't we?" Stephanie, the bat-girl, said angrily.
"Oh, my dears, you are all my good babies, how could Daddy dislike you?"
Seeing Allen's smug grin with his protruding gums, the five main characters couldn't stand it and drew their weapons to give him a good beating.
"The Avengers are requesting a connection..."
Just as things were about to fall apart, another prompt popped up on the screen.
The scene instantly returned to calm.
In recent years, superhero teams have seen an explosive growth worldwide, with the Justice League and the Avengers being the most prominent. It is inevitable that the two will have some friction and cooperation, but of course, they are only regarded as rivals, not enemies.
The call connected immediately.
Captain America's image is presented on the screen.
"Hey Batgirl, I heard you're in trouble. Do you need us as backup?" Steve greeted.
Allen was taken aback, then stood up and retorted: "You chubby old boy, who are you calling a sissy? I'll untie Diao Chan from my waist and give you a lightning five-hit combo."
As he spoke, Allen began to unfasten his tactical belt, preparing to unleash the Python.
The five young heroes rushed forward to stop them.
Your application won't pass the review.
The call was disconnected.
Meanwhile, at Avengers Tower, Steve Rogers' eyes were wide open, as if he had seen something terrifying.
Tony, who was adjusting the armor's protective arm guards, asked in confusion, "What's wrong, buddy? You look so scared."
"Tony, I saw your uncle."
Clang!
The next second, Tony was so shocked that he dropped his screwdriver.
