Chapter 3
: A Demigod
"Arods, of course I know the wonders of this gray fog, which is why I am even more terrified, and it is one of the reasons why I dare not go to the land."
Xia'er felt... if he dared to go ashore, what difference would it make whether the gray fog covered him or not?
Doesn't that make it even more intriguing?
"Shael, I can sense that what you really want is not for me to provide you with a certain amount of privacy."
"You can just tell me. If it's within my power, I will definitely help you."
"Arods" was silent for a moment, then conveyed the message with some hesitation, before quickly adding:
"I absolutely did not pry into your mind, I can guarantee that, otherwise the gray mist around you wouldn't be so calm. I just could sense that you seemed to be struggling with some issue."
Seeing the flood of explanations, some of which only made things worse, Xia Er said with a hint of helplessness:
"Arods, you don't need to explain these things."
There's an old saying in my hometown: "If you don't trust someone, don't use them; if you use someone, don't doubt them." Since I've summoned you, I will trust you.
Xia Er guessed that it might be the Hanged Man pathway's ability that allowed this mirror to instinctively sense the shadow in the questioner's heart?
"I wasn't actually that conflicted."
"I am an elf."
"Two horizontal lines and one vertical line make up 'do'."
He looked at the "silver mirror," now clear again, as if waiting for him to continue. He gazed at the dark, deep sea and said in a very calm tone:
"Arods, although I am not as wise as you, I understand this world just as well as the situation I face."
"I have your help."
"Ascension to demigod, angel, I think it's not difficult. Can you guide me to find the high-level characteristics of the storm pathway lost in the ocean, or other adjacent pathways? In this era of continuous reshuffling, the extraordinary characteristics of high-level beings have not yet been completely monopolized."
As Xia Er spoke, a moment of confusion and hesitation flashed in his eyes:
"If I become an angel, even if I hide in the deep sea, I can still create a paradise of my own in the spirit world."
"But...I'm thinking..."
"I am an elf, the new god of the Storm Path. Will He roar at me when I want to ascend to demigod, and then, through the suppression of the superior, make me lose control and die during the ascension?"
Chael didn't really want to think that way. He even felt that he was taking himself too seriously. Would Leodorus be so tasteless as to target a Sequence 5 hiding in an extremely remote sea area?
But really not?
He should trust the character of a traitor?
In the Fifth Age, the Primal Witch began monitoring the entire Witch Path from Sequence 7, and the Hidden Sage was happy to share the forbidden knowledge of "resurrection of the dead" with the Seekers of Sequence 9 free of charge.
These are evil gods.
But what difference is there between the Lord of Storms and an evil god to the elves?
Why did the Elf Queen, whose future is uncertain, give away her superfluous demigod and angelic characteristics to the descendants of the elves, instead of leaving them to Alger, and even raise a sea serpent?
Even assuming Leodorus didn't target him when he ascended to demigod status, what about when he ascended to Sequence 3? Or when he ascended to Sequence 2?
Should we switch our approach and go to the audience who don't yet have a true god?
Can you see how profound Adam's intangible influence on the audience's perspective is?
Shael is willing to believe in Arodes, but doesn't want to believe in those gods or humans. For those beings, even a slight snort from them could be a devastating blow.
"Shael, the Church of Storms, from what I understand, their attitude towards elves is not friendly, but rather very hostile. Because you possess many extraordinary traits, they can only cultivate more human believers to become extraordinary beings by killing you."
Arodes sensed Shael's low spirits, and its own spirits sank as well, even developing a sense of disgust towards the Church of Storms.
"Therefore, I cannot give up the power of the gray fog, at least not completely."
"Arods, guide me. Besides the trait of the High Priest of Calamity, I also need a low-level trait for the Thief, the Diviner, and the Apprentice paths, preferably the lowest Sequence 9 extraordinary trait, and ideally the Thief."
Xia Er decisively stated her needs, pointing out that Lao Huang's failure was a case in point, and that completely abandoning one's innate advantages was not advisable.
"what?"
"Shael, don't you know that accommodating these extraordinary, non-adjacent properties will drive you mad?"
Arodes was also worried that the knowledge that had become widespread among these high-ranking extraordinary humans was something that the naturally gifted sea elves were unaware of.
"I know."
"So what I want is the non-adjacent property of sequence 9, not the non-adjacent path of sequence 4 that I want to switch to."
"I am an elf, a naturally extraordinary being. The effects of a low-ranking Sequence 9 trait on me are still within an acceptable range."
"Madness takes time to build up."
Shael was well aware of the risks, but a well-behaved baby would not be able to survive in the era following the Great Cataclysm.
He needs to become an angel quickly.
Did Leodorus really think he could keep him submerged in the sea forever, never daring to set foot on land? Did he deserve it?
...
The dark seabed was illuminated by silvery lightning.
The tsunami, which roared like a giant, seemed to lose its power. A silver arrow pierced the head of a demigod-level sea monster. Its body was charred black by lightning, and its bloodshot eyes stared resentfully at the elf who held up a silver mirror.
Roar! ! !
It let out a final roar, its terrifying spiritual power carrying waves powerful enough to engulf a small island.
Xia Er calmly brushed aside the black hair on his forehead, and the "Silver Mirror" in his hand lit up. Bolts of lightning transformed into a storm that tore apart the demigod's final roar, engulfed its body, and completely destroyed all its remaining vitality.
He performed consistently throughout, and all his attacks were intercepted and countered by Arodes. A demigod-level deep-sea monster died here in such a frustrating way.
"Arods, you're really not an angel-level sealed artifact?"
He looked at Arodes's true form in his hand. This guy could not only locate and find himself, but also easily defeat a demigod in terms of attack power.
In his memory, the Level 2 sealed artifact (Level 1) Arodes was not only concealed, but also weakened by a series of rules added by the craftsmen of the Mechanicus for the safety of its use.
Chael swam over and picked up an extraordinary trait that was as blue as a curtain of water. The difficulty of hunting a demigod was far lower than imagined.
