Chapter 5
Bug
Xia Er secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Is this considered a two-way journey?
He was unwilling to part ways with Gray Mist, and Gray Mist had clearly not fully accepted the failure of his second misjudgment, and was still willing to give him some consideration.
"In any case, this is much more worthwhile than turning into a 'parasite' half-madman."
Xia'er once again led Arodes back into the sea, heading towards the more remote depths. He would never return to land until he had mastered the Ten Mile Slope Sword God and become an angel on earth.
"Was the location of the natural disaster-related item you mentioned earlier accurate?"
He asked this question while diving in the deep sea.
"That's right. This calamity trait came from an elf god, but it was corrupted by the underground, which is why the Elf King allowed it to be lost and didn't retrieve it."
Arodes shared what he knew with Shael, who had initially noticed this characteristic because he was attracted by the underground atmosphere.
"But you might also get contaminated."
"You elves should still have the safe Cataclysm ability, and I can also help you find other usable Angel abilities."
Arodes wanted to help Shael find other, safer traits, but it was only recently created, and its ability to discover the location of this trait was due to its sensitivity to the atmosphere of the earth.
"I'll consider the elf option."
"I need followers to advance to Sequence Three, and I'm willing to provide some protection for the elves, but it's always good to have an angelic attribute as a backup."
Chael found a place on the seabed that intersected with the spirit world, carved out a living area, and then cast his burning gaze at Arodes.
"W-what's wrong?"
Arrodes was somewhat at a loss.
"You should be aware of the extraordinary capabilities of virtual personalities, right?"
"I said with a smile."
If Arodes hadn't witnessed Shael tearing apart the sea monster that originally occupied this place and roasting its eight tentacles into skewers, he would have really thought that his elven friend was very gentle.
"I know..."
"You want me to create a virtual personality for you?!"
Arodes agreed at first, then the entire mirror stared at Shael in a daze. It couldn't understand this; it had never thought of such a thing before.
"It's very simple."
"I'll teach you. Since you've been exposed to the world in the mirror, you must be familiar with the knowledge about the people in the mirror, right?"
"Right now, isn't there a 'mirror image' reflected in your mirror?"
"Although I am not a witch, and this 'person in the mirror' is just a temporary projection, you are the great Arodes. Any mirror can become a vessel for your descent. Your power, my spirituality and mental strength, together, can allow my person in the mirror to step out from your mirror."
Chael began to patiently guide her.
"Is this okay?"
"It seems like it really can?"
Arodes simulated the idea provided by Shael and found that it seemed to be feasible.
"Shael, have you also consumed the extraordinary properties of the Reader's Path?"
Arrodes asked curiously.
"That's not important; my wisdom doesn't need to be proven through readers."
Chael refused to answer the question.
"That means you've eaten it."
Arrodes drew his conclusion.
"Isn't it normal for elves to eat a little more? We're not like those white-haired monkeys on land; we're not that easy to lose control of.
Shael shrugged. Which elf has a single path again? The Elf Queen and the Goddess of Fortune have also benefited from other paths' attributes.
"Alright, let's begin."
Shael closed his eyes, and a blurry figure made of lightning materialized in front of him. The lightning bolt approached the magic mirror in front of him, and Arodes tried to contain and absorb it.
Lightning began to approach the elf's reflection in the mirror along the patterns on its surface. Shael in the mirror opened his eyes, a flash of lightning in them, and the reflection shattered, losing all its spirituality.
Failed.
Xia Er snorted softly, feeling somewhat uncomfortable as he experienced a loss of both his extended spirit and spirituality.
"I'm sorry, Shael, I didn't use my power to stabilize your mirror projection in time."
Arrodes responded somewhat apologetically.
"It's okay, it would be abnormal to succeed on the first try."
"We are on the right track. You are the most important person. Only you can provide a safe haven for my outward-looking spirit."
Xia Er didn't care; his emotions remained relatively stable, and he had already seen the hope of success.
For a demigod in the Storm Path, merging his spirit into a sea is a basic skill; he only needs to treat Arodes as the sea.
"Let's continue."
Xia Er began to try again and again. After countless failures, he was finally able to keep his spirit and soul stable on the projection on the surface of the "magic mirror".
"Shael" curiously observed the mirror world. This was a mirror world that had been sealed off by Arodes. Otherwise, it would have wandered around in the mirror world and soon appeared in another place, right?
"Shael, although we have succeeded, if your real body is too far away from my real body, your mirror image will still turn back into an ordinary projection."
Arodes reminded "Shael" in the mirror world.
It also used its power to give this "person in the mirror" a blessing, allowing the "person in the mirror" to use its power to collect and view information and images that interest them in the spirit world.
"I know."
"Of course I know."
"Shael," outside the mirror, slowly said, "I am not a thief, but a demigod of the diviner's path. I cannot be in two places at once."
"But that doesn't mean I'm powerless."
He looked up at the sky, where even the crimson moonlight could not penetrate the darkness of the deep sea, and he sang softly:
"Moonlight over the river, ripples like autumn waves"
"A boat full of sweet dreams presses down on the Milky Way."
"But the nightingale sings a mournful song, yet no one knows its lament."
......
"I know the green hills compose the rivers and streams"
"I only know the joy of the river amidst the green hills."
"Playing the zither for others, yet no one knows the joy I find."
......
Shael recorded "knowing me" into his mirror projection. He smiled and sang melodiously, using Arodes' power as if creating a spell to preserve the demigod's song.
Arodes listened quietly, its silver mirror reflecting the free spirit. When the song stopped, the spirit in the mirror seemed to be fully charged. It meditated on a luck-changing spell, communicating with the gray mist above. A deep red light flashed, and the projection in the mirror blurred for a moment, then disappeared, and then a normal projection reappeared.
"It seems... it succeeded?"
Chael winked at the magic mirror.
"It seems... it was successful."
A winking emoji appeared on the mirror.
Does the gray fog space really not mind that he was forced to take the storm path?
Chael didn't know how much of this success was due to Arodes's help, but being able to maintain some contact with the Gray Mist was a victory in itself.
