Chapter 41
The Surrender Faction
"That's right, that's it."
Gohchinam looked very satisfied.
The more she acted this way, the more vigilant Xia Er became, worried that this female tyrant would break his waist again. As for the bait she threw out, he didn't even glance at it.
"come over."
Goshinam waved to Chael, who silently swam backward. This time, he wouldn't believe him no matter what.
"Stop fooling around, come here right now."
Goshinam urged Xiaer again. Xiaer hesitated, then slowly swam over. He wasn't afraid; he was facing the danger head-on and would never back down.
They came closer.
Goshinam helped Chael turn around, and she stroked Chael's hair from behind, straightening and smoothing the slightly messy hair strand by strand.
"I do not understand."
Xia'er's tone was filled with doubt and confusion.
"What don't you understand?"
"If you dare to have feelings for me, what else don't you understand?"
Goshinam tapped Chael on the head.
"Well... even if I... cough cough, why... I don't understand."
Chael tried to turn his head, but his hair was held by Goshinam, so he could only sink to the surface and blow bubbles as he spoke.
Why didn't I kill you?
"At least I'll give you a punishment so profound you'll never forget it for the rest of your life?"
Goshinam, trying to decipher Xia'er's thoughts, asked in return.
"Your attitude towards me... is not like that of an ordinary elf."
As Xia Er spoke, he tried to submerge his head completely underwater, but Goshinam pulled him out by the hair.
"I have high expectations for you."
Gohchinam did not deny it.
"That's not worth doing, is it?"
Shael was puzzled. Did Goshinam believe that he could become a true god? But he himself didn't have absolute confidence, and even so, there was no need to say it like that.
Even if I could become an angel, I still wouldn't be able to do without your help.
"I won't repay kindness with enmity."
Xia'er felt that the possibility of him betraying Goshinam was extremely slim, and he wasn't without the Cataclysmic ability.
"My expectations of you go beyond just being an angel."
Goshinam said something that Chael had expected.
Shael pried Goshinam's hand off his hair, turned his head, looked into the Elf Queen's eyes, and asked earnestly:
"Then what else do you expect from me?"
To become a god?
"You are the next leader of the elven race that I have nurtured."
Goshinam looked at Xiaer with gentle eyes and smiled.
"what?"
Xia Er was taken aback. What was this?
Seize power?
demise?
Isn't it a bit too early?
Are you kidding me?
"You're still here, Lady Luck is still around, will it be my turn?"
"You don't expect me to become a god, do you? If so, I advise you to give up your pointless fantasy as soon as possible."
At this point, Chael didn't have much of an obsession with becoming a true god. He was willing to try if he had the chance, but it didn't matter if he didn't. There were angels who survived to the end, after all.
"God of Wishes", Dark Wolf, Kotal, if he can survive in the land of forsaken gods, can't he find a deserted sea to become a supreme ancestor?
Ignoring Chael's somewhat impolite words, Goshinam wrapped her arms around Chael's neck and whispered in her ear:
"If you can become an angel, you will be the next leader of the Elf race. This is my promise to you, the Elf Queen."
"That simple?"
The vigilance that Xia'er had developed from receiving numerous disruptive phone calls told him that something was wrong.
"Of course I expect you to achieve even greater things, but I understand that it is very dangerous, so I will not force you to do anything. Once you become an angel, I will consider entrusting all the fairies to you."
Gohchinam said definitively.
"After the fall of Lilith, the progenitor of the vampires, even the goddess of beauty, Olnia, could only let the vampires scatter in various places to avoid being wiped out in one fell swoop. What right do I have to do that?"
Xia Er still felt there was something wrong. Even if he became a Sequence 2... he would still just be an ordinary...
Ok.
After becoming a Sequence 2, he was fearless enough to be used as the King of Angels, but he never intended to use himself as a consumable.
"After you become an angel, if the living conditions of the elves deteriorate further, then you should take some of the elves to seek refuge with one of the gods who is willing to accept you, the one you prefer, and become His earthly angel, leading the elves to join His church and preserving the elves' flame."
Goshinam's long, slender, white fingers traced across Xia'er's face. Her tone was unreadable, but a fleeting sadness lingered in her eyes.
"Is this how I use it?"
"Is this what the elven leader means?"
Xia'er finally understood. No wonder the God of Luck was no good. The God of Luck was Sequence 1, the Archangel. How could Sequence 1 surrendering be as safe as Sequence 2?
"The goddess of fortune must hide from the angel of destiny, from the true creator, or rather, from the fallen God."
"You're too ashamed to surrender to those you once looked down upon, so you're making me surrender?"
How can you be so smart?
Shael wanted to turn around and look at Goshinam, but was grabbed by the neck. After a brief hesitation, he chose to surrender, just to save face for the "Queen of Calamity".
"Don't you want to take refuge with a certain deity?"
Gohshinam asked in a somewhat complicated tone.
"I am indeed reluctant, as it would mean losing my freedom, but it's not impossible. The little bit of freedom that angels lose can easily be made up for elsewhere."
Xia'er said without any psychological burden that he had even thought about going to the Earth Mother Goddess (the progenitor of the vampires). The two families had been allies of the pan-humanoid faction before, and the elves had not wronged the vampires. Xia'er could theoretically live a very comfortable life by going to the Earth Mother Goddess (the progenitor of the vampires).
Lilith wouldn't be so shameless as to harm a Sequence 2 who has defected; she also lacks capable Chosen Ones under her command.
He doesn't have the habit of stubbornly refusing to endure hardship; he surrenders when he should, and those who are headstrong should go to the Warhammer universe and follow the Emperor.
"It seems you're not opposed to it."
Goshinam tapped Shael on the head, her tone becoming more formal:
"Then you must learn from me how to become a qualified leader. You will bear the fate of a race on your shoulders. If you are not mature enough, I doubt how much of the benefits that originally belonged to the elves you will betray."
"What do you mean? What did I betray?"
Xia Er couldn't help but slap the water's surface, splashing a spray. What did he do? He didn't do anything, yet it's being brought up as selling out interests?
Which angel would need to betray their own race...?
He's not short of money, yet he betrays his own people.
I was just saying you're not mature enough yet.
"Gohchinam said calmly."
"Ha, do you think I can't be ruthless? Anyone can kill indiscriminately. I just don't want to."
Xia Er snorted softly. He had simply experienced less, but as a transmigrator, his morality was still quite flexible. He just didn't want to change himself easily.
He would only consider leaving himself any room for maneuver when he held the power of life and death in his own hands.
This naiveté, left to the past, is also an anchor for oneself.
A storm can capsize ships at sea, but it can also give those who have fallen into the water a chance to see if fate will smile upon them and if they will encounter a second ship willing to rescue them.
Since he can't reach a high place, he doesn't need to worry about that; he just needs to find a way to ensure his own survival.
When he was a sailor, he wanted to be a storm; now that he is a storm, he should not forget that he was once a sailor struggling at sea.
