Chapter 8

Constantine

"Constantine!"

A powerful roar from a woman.

In Xia Ran's memory, the last time she heard such a tone of voice was from her mother. Otherwise, who else could it be? Xia Ran grew up in an orphanage, and she was the kind of person who had maxed out her magic resistance when she cursed.

"When I looked at the Profaned Slab, because the Storm Path was already known to the elves, I also glanced at the Spy Path."

"There wasn't enough time, so only sequences 9 through 4 are available."

"Do you want it?"

When Xia'er saw that this Reaper was only provoking her and not plotting against her, although it was more likely that she knew that plotting against her might backfire, but that was enough.

"You only memorized sequences 9 through 4? Do you think I'll believe you?"

Soren raised an eyebrow. She had memorized one path, but this elf only remembered Sequence 9 to Sequence 4?

This indicates that his attention was focused on other avenues at the time.

"Do you want it?"

Shael tapped Soren on the forehead, and the crisp echo indicated that it was a good melon.

"You bastard!"

"I want!"

Having taken the hit, Soren, thinking that since he had already suffered it, might as well take it, still decided to try to secure the incomplete path to becoming a Seer of Secrets for his sister.

"Come closer to your ear."

Xia Er beckoned with her finger.

"Don't go too far!"

"Hmm~"

"Are you trying to die?!"

Soren covered her ear, which had been bitten red, and she bit back defiantly.

"Just so you don't bite, I'm really telling you this time."

While Shael and Soren were playfully fighting, Shael told Soren about the recipes and rituals of the Seeker Path Sequences 9 to 4 that he had seen, and also discussed with Soren the ascension ritual of the Hermit Path Sequence 0.

"You...have sequences 9 through 4, and then jump to sequence 0? Are you kidding me?"

Soren looked Xia'er up and down. This guy probably really didn't know the missing part of the Hermit's Path, otherwise he wouldn't have needed to mention the Hermit's Godhood Ritual. By saying that, he was just asking for trouble.

If this were true, wouldn't that be even more bizarre? Wouldn't it be better to spend your time memorizing sequences 3 through 2? Why waste time analyzing part of sequence 0? What's the point of knowing that? To add some spice?

"I'd like to."

Shaiel's words made Soren feel a tightness in his chest.

"Alright, I have to go now. See you next time, you should be Mr. Soren, right? Actually, you can cut it off if you don't like it..."

Before Xia Er could finish speaking, he was suddenly grabbed and forced to turn around. He saw the red-haired girl smiling sweetly and asking:

"Really?"

"False. Our bodies and hair are gifts from our parents, and we should not damage them lightly."

Shael wanted to continue his prank, but flames started appearing on Soren's hands. He immediately took a step back to create a safe distance, then put on his robe, turned around and left with a dark face.

"Don't you elves like grilled skewers? Am I doing something wrong?"

Soren followed behind Shael and asked with a smile.

"You have a really sharp tongue."

Xia Er didn't turn around; he said with a twitch at the corner of his mouth.

"Is it sweet?"

Soren didn't care; she fiddled with her nails and asked lightly.

Depend on!

Chael remained silent, only quickening his pace.

"The thought of wasting another 12 months to advance to demigod makes me sad. That's enough time for me to complete the Iron-Blooded Knight assimilation ahead of schedule."

Soren's somewhat resentful voice rang out.

Shael stopped and turned to look at Soren, saying:

"If you find it troublesome."

"I'll find you a demigod trait through the Witch Path for free?"

"Forget it, such an awkward approach isn't for me. Just you wait and see, I'll become the best hunter."

Soren had no intention of giving up the path of the hunter that her father had fought so hard for with his life. Her father was a good hunter, and she would be too, as would her son.

Once a decision is made, there is no more hesitation.

Her future achievements will be no coincidence.

"Gender proves nothing."

"Little elf."

Soren walked up to Shael, whose eyes burned with a wild and indomitable spirit.

"If you're saying goodbye to your past, then I can pretend I didn't hear your provocation."

"Finally, here's a piece of advice: be wary of all ambitious people. It's always right to be vigilant, just like now."

Shael could see that Soren had a clear understanding of his future and long-term plans. He gave him a piece of advice and then went where he was going.

"I don't need you to lecture me."

"By the way, you're the one who should be more careful. Why aren't you putting your hood up? If the Church of Storms sees you, they'll swarm over and mess with you!"

Seeing the elf obediently put on her hood, Sauron turned around in a good mood, humming a little tune, and walked in another direction.

Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks, realizing something. She did want to eventually have children as a woman, but the elves looked quite different from them.

"Never mind, it looks pretty good."

This problem didn't bother Soren for long; her furrowed brows relaxed, and her steps became lighter again.

...

Meanwhile, Shael led Arodes back to the sea. The purpose of their journey had already been achieved; the calamity-related characteristics were within Arodes's mirror space.

Without this premise as a guarantee, Xia'er might not have dared to join in the desecration of the stone tablet. It wasn't that he was afraid, but there was no need to take the risk for nothing. In fact, there were many people who saw the desecration of the stone tablet, not just Sauron and his group, but they were all dead.

Taking risks always means taking risks.

"Do you like that huntress?"

Arrodes asked.

It believed that it was locked in a dark room because of that woman, and Xia'er must like it.

"I don't dislike it, do I?"

Xia Er tilted his head and thought for a moment before speaking.

"If you like it."

"Should we take her back?"

Arodes reiterated that he didn't see anything wrong with it; in this era, the strong possess more, and the weak are at the mercy of others—that's just the way things are.

"No need, that's too boring."

Xia Er shook her head and refused.

He might even have to rely on Sauron in the future.

Although the possibility is slim.

"What about that woman's child?"

"After she's born, shall we bring her home and raise her?"

Seeing that Shael wasn't very interested, Arodes made the suggestion again.

"Pfft~"

"If Soren heard this, she'd be furious with you."

Xia Er couldn't help but laugh.

"Don't you mind?"

Arodes asked, somewhat surprised.

"What do I care about?"

"Sauron will take good care of it, and you can keep an eye on it as well. But after a few generations, just let it be."

Xia Er said this, but when he thought of Huang Tao's great achievements, he still had some subtle feelings in his heart.

But who cares? Whether he can even survive the Fourth Age is another matter entirely.
