Chapter 37
Half a Natural Disaster
In an instant, Goshinam almost crushed the golden goblet in his hand. Ordinary elves wouldn't dare to be so outspoken in front of her. She could ignore the nonsense spoken by other races, but among the elves, there was a special case of Shael.
"real."
"If you don't believe me, you can ask the God of Fortune."
"There are many who have become angels."
"Perhaps a thousand years from now, even a dog can become a saint."
"Well, I didn't say that Lady Luck was just someone who got lucky; I just meant that lucky people really do exist..."
Seeing that the Elf Queen's breathing had become heavy, as if she was suppressing something, Xia Er obediently shut his mouth.
Because the way elves interact is very simple and direct, and other elves are basically no match for him, he almost forgot that no matter how calm the Elf Queen is, she is still an angel of the Tyrant path, and she might actually hit someone.
Seeing that Xia'er had become obedient, Goshinam temporarily suppressed her anger and snorted coldly:
"I know what you're saying better than you do."
"In special times, with a certain amount of luck, angels are not an unreachable realm."
"But how many angels are there in this world? And which surviving angel doesn't possess other abilities?"
"Fregora, Gregory, many of their offspring were born angels. How many of those angels are still alive today?"
"I know you may have your own plans, but you have too little experience. You are too young. You lack combat experience even more than many low- to mid-ranking elves. You don't even have the killing intent to kill your opponent."
"Don't talk about killing intent. Tell me, even when facing the Lord of Storms, do you harbor absolute hostility towards him?"
Goshinam's words struck straight to the heart, as if peeling away the layers of Chael's soul. Chael could not refute them; these were all facts.
The elves are pure-hearted; even though they cannot resist the "tyrant," they still harbor absolute hostility towards Leodorus, who has taken away the power of the storm.
Chael didn't harbor any hostility, perhaps for many reasons. He knew Leodorus was a lucky one who had effortlessly become a god; he knew Leodorus was like an egg before the fallen Mother Goddess, easily broken; he knew that seizing power was a perfectly normal thing...
His upbringing was relatively good; he didn't experience much hardship, and he didn't have those intense emotions.
"I just don't have that natural, righteous hostility towards evil that's based on justice."
"That doesn't stop me from using underhanded tactics if necessary."
"You're right. I don't have that kind of urgent, hateful, or violent thought of exploding with someone. If I have the chance, I'll stab them. If I don't, I'll create some trouble. I'm ultimately on the side of the elves because we have similar faces, the same blood, and the highest level of cultural identity."
Xia Er didn't know how to explain.
Perhaps this is due to his God-like perspective; he seems to have a playful, almost detached view of life. Is Roselle like that too? Are we all playing a role-playing game?
How did Klein manage to integrate so quickly?
"You need to go out and see the world."
"You can't stay in the elven settlement forever; you can't just associate with the elves and the sea creatures."
Gohchinam reiterated.
She couldn't see any obvious love or hate in Chael, no strong emotions. He had divinity, but it wasn't strong; he wasn't lacking in humanity, but it wasn't intense enough.
In the eyes of the Elf Queen, his state was, in some ways, less vibrant than that of a half-mad elf, who was both restraining himself and refusing to admit it, deliberately putting on a show to prove that he was comfortable with it.
"Alright, you'd better be prepared, I might ask you for help at any time."
Chael patted his cheeks to perk himself up. What other good ideas were there besides agreeing?
He could have stayed in the Rothschild Islands indefinitely, but there was no need for that; he had planned to go out in search of more extraordinary high-level characteristics anyway.
"What about your Cataclysmic Extraordinary Trait?"
"Take it out, and I'll seal it inside your body for you. This way, you won't need to advance for the time being, and you can still master the power of natural disasters ahead of time."
When Goshinam saw how obedient Chael was, a smile appeared on her face. She had high expectations for Chael; it was a prophecy, or perhaps an intuition.
This elf, perhaps, can become a god?
"If you have this ability, why didn't you tell me sooner? The Storm Path is also good at sealing? Is this an ability of the Dragon Path or the White Tower Path?"
Shael was taken aback by Goshinam's words. Why didn't you say so sooner? We're all elves, are you trying to play tricks on me?
"I wanted to tell you this last time."
"Who ran away ahead of time?"
"Gohchinam said calmly."
"Please wait a moment, I'll be right back."
Shael blushed and disappeared into the palace of Goshinam with the sound of the wind. After returning to his residence, he said to Arodes:
"Arods, give me the Cataclysm ability. Goshinam will help me seal the Cataclysm ability within my body. As long as I don't officially advance, the Lord of Storms won't be able to deal with me easily."
Shael stepped forward and tapped the surface of the "magic mirror," adding another instruction to his virtual persona within it:
"We need to find more locations with unique, unclaimed, and sequence-1 characteristics, and prepare accordingly as soon as possible."
"The current environment is bad, so don't just focus on the five-family and the three-family strategies. Mark any available traits. We don't have the right to be picky."
Xia'er's virtual personality continues to work overtime.
Arodes released the calamity-related properties sealed within the mirror world. "Are you taking me with you this time you go out?"
"Not this time. I'm worried you'll be taken away by the true god. Let's contact each other through the spirit world."
"Besides, I'm not in a hurry to go out."
After acquiring the Scourge ability, Shael returned to Goshinam's palace. This time, he didn't see any elven servants, but he didn't pay any attention to it.
The Elf Queen wanted to trick him into revealing his Cataclysm ability.
He himself didn't believe it.
"Your Majesty, how shall we begin?"
Xia Er tossed the extraordinary property in his hand over and asked with some anticipation.
This is a great opportunity to learn from others.
He also ate the characteristics of the low-lying white tower.
"Turn around."
Goshinam caught the Cataclysm ability, her aura surged, and lightning enveloped her behind, forcibly suppressing the power of her extraordinary ability.
"Turn around?"
Chael took a few steps back.
"Is a frontal view not an option?"
He had a feeling that he was about to get a shot.
"Shall we do it, or should we?"
Lightning bolts intertwined around Goshinam, forming a dagger.
"Did I really not have any expectations for the seal on the elves?"
Shael took the lightning dagger, hypnotized himself to reduce pain, and then slashed open his right chest.
Blood seeped out, but was held up by an invisible hand, preventing it from falling to the ground.
Xia'er frowned slightly; this hurt far more than a shot. "Are you done yet?"
Goshinam nodded slightly. She raised her hand and clenched it, and all the lightning behind her surged into the Cataclysmic ability. This deep blue ability seeped into Shael's flesh along his wounds, like a second heart, taking root in his body.
"That simple?"
Xia Er sensed it and found that his body and the Calamity characteristic had not started to merge directly. Although the Elf Queen's surgery was brutal, the effect was really good.
