Chapter 10

Hello, Principal

Chapter 10 Hello, Principal

Perhaps out of an elder's kindness, Dumbledore broke the silence by speaking first.

"Ian, please allow me to call you that. Although they often say I'm a crazy old man, I think I'm still quite lucid at this moment. Why do I feel like you've known me for a long time? Like an old friend I haven't seen in years. That's why I asked Minerva to leave so we can talk alone."

In fact, all of this was done intentionally by Ian, with the aim of making Dumbledore see through it.

After all, he had lived two lives. If he couldn't even control his facial expressions, he would have been crushed to pieces by that cannibalistic society long ago.

Ian took a deep breath, steadied himself, and slowly said:

"Mr. Dumbledore, I can assure you that this is our first meeting. As for why you feel like we've known each other for a long time, I'll tell you later. This story might be a bit long."

"If the story is a bit long, you can tell it slowly. There's no need to rush, child. Never underestimate the patience of a centenarian."

Dumbledore chuckled lightly, unconcerned, and continued:

"But before that, we need some snacks. Eating snacks while listening to stories sounds really fun, doesn't it?"

After receiving an affirmative answer, Dumbledore tapped his wand lightly, and the table was instantly covered with all sorts of Honeydukes candies and two cups of freshly brewed black tea.

"Thank you for the treat!" Out of politeness, Ian gently picked up the teacup with his hand and said in a calm tone:

"The name of this story is Harry Potter..."

Ian wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he felt that after he said the name, Dumbledore's eyes flashed with a sharp light, like two swords, which then vanished in an instant.

Ian seemed oblivious to this, regardless of the original work, the film and television adaptations, or various fan-made works.

All their speculations and descriptions of Dumbledore pale in comparison to the kindness and sincerity Ian felt when he truly faced this legendary old man.

He possessed boundless love and embraced all things. In the original story, he schemed against many people, but he never intentionally harmed anyone.

Even the ending where Harry Potter had to die was something he arranged after he had already done everything and sacrificed himself first.

And after his death, he also burned his magic to keep his soul suspended at the Land of the Dead as Harry's final protection.

Therefore, Ian did not intend to hold back much from such a person with pure and great love. Of course, if it were another old man holding a pipe and wearing a straw hat with the character "fire" on his head, it would be a different story.

"...Meanwhile, the boy named Harry Potter finally boarded the Hogwarts Express. ...After several setbacks, the trio successfully protected the Philosopher's Stone."

...Professor Rocky, possessed by a mysterious figure, was also turned to ashes under the protection of magic left by Harry's mother. Therefore, I named this story *Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone*.

Dumbledore's expression grew increasingly serious, but Ian remained unmoved. He took a sip of his black tea, savoring its bittersweet aftertaste, gently set down the cup, and then slowly said:

"I would call the story of the second year 'The Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin,' which is also a turning point in the story, because the wise headmaster finally learns the secret of the mysterious man's invincibility..."

...In the end, the fraudster Lockhart received his due punishment, and the petrified students and ghosts were all restored with the help of the mature mandrake.

With Fawkes' help, Harry Potter drew the Sword of Gryffindor, killed the Basilisk, and used its fangs to pierce the diary, destroying the first Horcrux of the Mystic.

"...By the way, speaking of Horcruxes, I have to emphasize this point: the Mystic actually created seven Horcruxes, the first being the destroyed diary. The second Horcrux is the Ravenclaw tiara hidden in the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts."

The third is the Hufflepuff Cup hidden in the Lestrange family vault. The fourth is the Slytherin pendant hidden in the Black family mansion. The fifth is Nagini, the blood cursed viper and pet of the mysterious man.

The sixth is Gaunt's ring, which is why you had to face death prematurely. The ring is inlaid with the Resurrection Stone, one of the Deathly Hallows. The mysterious man used your longing for your sister to unleash the most evil curse on the ring, and you ultimately could not escape this curse.

The seventh, and most special one, is a Horcrux that even Mystic himself was unaware of. Its creation stemmed from an accident. The last Horcrux was Harry Potter…”

As the sun set and the stars shone brightly, the conversation lasted for nearly four hours.

Ian also recounted in great detail all the contents of the seven original books, including those who suffered, were wronged, betrayed, murdered, and disguised by Polyjuice Potion, covering all named characters.

"You know, when I first saw all this, my first thought was how to secretly obtain that magic stone that turns stones into gold, and then live a carefree life."

But then I saw the killing and betrayal, the tears and regret that followed, and I changed my mind. At that moment, I thought about quietly hiding away, finishing my studies in secret, and then leaving England.

As he spoke, Ian's tone became somewhat ethereal, as he recalled many regrets and lingering feelings about his past life as a HP player.

"But when I put on my magical wings and soared over the Hogwarts of the future, I saw your last smile before death, and your encouragement and words of advice to Harry."

Seeing those innocent faces, picking up their wands to fight and sacrifice themselves against Death Eaters to protect their school, I realized how cowardly and pathetic my previous thoughts had been.

At this moment, he seemed to have transformed into a true prophet, staring unfocused at the teacup in front of him, as if looking into the future through time.

Meanwhile, Dumbledore, who was standing solemnly to the side, seemed to be guided by Ian's words to open the final chapter.

The clock of time and space tolled in his ears. Colin, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Brown, Snape, Cedric, and the last figure on the tower—the sacrifices of these people appeared one by one in this headmaster's office like phantoms in a mirror.

"Professor Dumbledore, my story is finished. The reason I am willing to share this story with you is not only because of my trust and respect for you, but also because I love magic and I love this Hogwarts full of laughter."

I think this is the first thing someone who can see the future should do, instead of hiding behind the scenes like a schemer, secretly pursuing personal gain. I want to do everything I can to prevent tragedy from happening, but I don't have the ability to do so, so I told it to someone who does.

At this point, Ian appropriately displayed some restraint, like a child asking for candy on Halloween, and said somewhat shyly:

"Of course, I also have a selfish side. You can think of it as a transaction. I use this information about the future as a bargaining chip in exchange for your guidance, funding, and some magic books."

The reason Ian chose to tell the truth was after weighing the pros and cons and considering it carefully.

Having the ability to travel between two worlds, he must quickly complete his initial accumulation. Taking the lead in one step means taking the lead in every step. That's the principle.

The Harry Potter world wasn't his only world, and he didn't have much time left to follow the plot step by step.
