Third-Year Spells Class

Chapter 51 Third-Year Spells Class

Just as Ian was asking the question, his eyes swept across the room and he spotted Penelope coming down the stairs from the girls' dormitory. He stopped Carey, who was about to speak, and then got up to greet her.

Good morning, Penelope!

"Good morning, Ian. What's up? I think this is the first time you've reached out to me since the start of the semester!"

Penelope said with a hint of surprise, while keeping her alluring amber eyes fixed on Ian.

"Over there." Ian pointed to Kerry, who was still curled up on the sofa.

"Kerry Trollope, a freshman this year, was kicked out of his dorm by his roommates and slept in the common room overnight. I think this is something that the prefect should handle."

To be honest, Ian was getting a little annoyed. His initial curiosity had almost completely worn off in the past half hour. He had originally planned to use this time to preview the textbook content, but since he had already gotten involved, he couldn't just leave it unattended.

So when I saw Penelope, I couldn't wait to kick the ball away.

"Oh, Ian! Perhaps you could offer this poor little boy some direct help; I know you're capable of handling it well."

Penelope said with a smile, while constantly glancing at Ian. After not seeing him for a while, she found him increasingly charming, with his composed demeanor, tall and slender figure, and handsome face that was gradually losing its youthful naiveté and becoming more mature.

"No! I'm not a prefect, isn't this my responsibility?" Ian immediately refused.

Just kidding, this matter clearly looks a bit troublesome, but if it's something that's easy to do, he wouldn't mind helping Kerry.

But it seems this matter involves two sixth-grade prefects, which is rather complicated. So, sorry! He doesn't have that much time.

"Okay! Observing from the sidelines, that's so Ravenclaw, but..."

Penelope smiled wryly.

"Perhaps in two years, someone will encounter a similar situation and will have no choice but to intervene. After all, Professor Flitwick greatly admires you, and you can't escape becoming the new prefect."

"Then let's talk about it again in two years!"

Ian shrugged and replied nonchalantly. Then he and Penelope walked up to Kerry.

At this moment, Kerry had already stood up from the sofa, looking at the two people in front of him with some trepidation.

Ian tried to speak gently: "Alright, Carey, this is Miss Penelope Crivart, the prefect of fifth year in Ravenclaw. Don't worry, she'll help you."

"Miss Crevat!" Carey glanced up at Penelope, then quickly lowered her head and remained silent.

"Alright, Carey. Come on, take me to your dorm," Penelope said with a chuckle.

"But……"

Kerry was still somewhat apprehensive and glanced at Ian, unsure of what to do.

Unfortunately, Ian no longer intended to get involved. They were complete strangers, and Ian had already done more than enough by standing up for him and finding Penelope.

Besides, with him acting as a go-between, Penelope should be able to handle things properly, so he nodded to reassure her.

After that, he turned and left the common room. This little incident had delayed him quite a bit, so Ian decided to stop thinking about reviewing his books and instead went to the Great Hall to find something to eat before heading straight to the Charms classroom to sit and wait for class to begin.

……

Watching Ian's figure gradually disappear into the distance, Penelope spoke up, her tone somewhat indifferent:

"Stop with the 'buts,' there are no 'buts'! Take me to your dorm right now, understand?"

Penelope seemed like a completely different person at this moment, displaying the strength and domineering presence of a female prefect to the fullest.

Unbeknownst to Ian, Penelope had been inside with him for nearly twenty minutes and still hadn't emerged. If Ian were there, he would surely have guessed that things might not be as simple as they seemed.

……

Meanwhile, Ian simply grabbed a bottle of fresh milk from the Great Hall and headed straight for the Charms classroom.

There were still more than 20 minutes before class started, so the classroom was almost empty except for a few Ravenclaws who were engrossed in their books and completely oblivious to Ian's arrival.

That's great! Ian really likes this atmosphere—quiet study, everyone minding their own business, and no one interfering with each other.

I found an empty seat, opened my book, and waited quietly for Professor Flitwick to arrive.

During this time, many students came in one after another. Unlike the boys, every girl who came in for class had a look of surprise and delight in her eyes when she first saw Ian. However, since he was quietly reading, she didn't want to disturb him.

However, this quiet atmosphere didn't last long before it was broken by a voice.

"Oh my god, Ian, you should have called us. You haven't forgotten that your Charms class schedule is the same as ours now, have you? It's all Ivy's fault. She insisted on playing Wizard Chess with me yesterday and stayed up so late, which almost made me late."

Looking somewhat disheveled, Andrei said to Ian with a hint of resentment.

Ivy was also somewhat disheveled at this point, even missing a sock, but after hearing what Andrei said, she immediately retorted:

"It's my fault? Who was it that lost seven games in a row yesterday, and then insisted on winning one before going to sleep? And who is it that drags me to play chess whenever they have free time?"

"A typical case of someone who's bad at the game but has a huge addiction." Ian sighed silently to himself upon hearing this.

Even so, Ian still spoke up to explain:

"Sorry, I forgot. After all, our schedules are the same starting today. But I'll remember to call you next time."

Ian had truly forgotten; after all, he had just returned from the apocalypse, and a month had passed, enough time for him to forget such trivial matters.

"It's not your fault, it's all Ivy's fault. If he had let me win just one game, he could have gone to bed early..."

Andrei is somewhat sensible, and at the same time, he doesn't forget to criticize Ivy.

Before Ivy could object, a voice suddenly came from the classroom doorway: "Children, if you don't want to be late and get points deducted, please come into the classroom now and sit down obediently, because it's already class time."
