Unbeknownst to Ian, in a more elegant three-story villa not far from him, about 200 meters away, a slender figure witnessed his afternoon's burning of the wasteland for clearing.
Having witnessed everything, Eileen was now lost in thought.
From birth, she seemed to be favored by Lady Luck. Born into a wealthy family, her parents' genes endowed her with beautiful looks and a stunning figure, making her one of the few people in the world who won at the starting line.
She got into her dream university with excellent grades, had a sweet and innocent first love without sadness, and went straight to her father's company as a senior executive after graduation. Everything made her so satisfied and grateful.
But then fungi invaded the world, and her parents became parasitic. This sudden change shattered her life, but she still chose to live on with strength.
After consuming the meager amount of food, they left their once warm and happy home in order to survive. They wandered around until they arrived at a friend's house in the same residential area, but unfortunately, there weren't many supplies there either.
She had considered going to the human settlement mentioned on the radio, but after witnessing several middle-aged men assaulting a clearly underage girl in the street, she changed her mind.
From then on, she never planned to go to any bases again and lived a secluded life, avoiding contact with other humans.

She lived peacefully like this for a while, until this afternoon when a sudden fire near the empty villa caught her attention.
Through the binoculars, they discovered that the person's back view appeared mature, but his youthful and handsome face proved that he was actually not that old.
This undoubtedly lowered her guard, but the trauma of the past still left her with little hope for humanity.
But now, seeing that the supplies here were exhausted two days ago, there are only two options: either starve to death or gather supplies.
However, due to her physiological structure and her previously comfortable life, she was at a significant disadvantage in terms of strength, making her completely unable to deal with those parasites that were immune to firearms and could only be freed by cutting off their limbs.
She had no choice but to face the situation in order to survive, but what happened this afternoon gave her a new idea: she decided to try to make contact with the young stranger.
This could be considered her final test of human nature. The various thoughts swirling in her mind caused Eileen to suffer from insomnia that night.

Lying on his single pine bed, he flipped through the books left by Dumbledore, planning tomorrow's food planting and furniture making, until sleepiness came over him.
This was the night Ian slept the best he had ever had in this world. He didn't wake up until the sun was high in the sky. He filled the container with "Clear Spring Water" and did a simple wash.
He took the gardening tools and other household items he had collected in the mall the day before, along with a bag of potatoes, and stepped out of his infinitely extended backpack to begin the plan he had made the day before.
The first issue to address is the electricity supply. The largest containers he found yesterday were just some iron drums labeled 30 liters in capacity.
Because of noise concerns, the levitation spell was used to place the tin can filled with gasoline and the small generator on an open ground not far from the room.
Tear open the brand-new bundle of electrical wires from its packaging, connect both ends to the main power line entering the villa, and then secure them with insulating tape.
Perhaps it's because the city's population density is really too low, so Ian is very fortunate that the shopping malls here have a wide variety of daily necessities besides food.
After filling the generator with gasoline and successfully connecting the power, he planned to start making furniture and walls.
The tall shrubs nearby are the most natural building material; with a cutting spell and a permanent adhesive spell, all the work can be done easily.
