Chapter 62
1 Taking a Walk
Chapter 62 Taking a Walk
"Here you go, this essential oil fragrance will not only make your hair smooth, but the special magical scent will also make the opposite sex like you. Don't worry, there are no contrabands, it's legally sold with the permission of the Ministry of Magic."
Perhaps Lavender realized she had tricked Hermione earlier, so she took out her treasured essential oil fragrance and used it on Hermione without saying a word.
……
About ten minutes later, Hermione was finally completely dressed. At first glance, Hermione looked as if she wasn't wearing makeup, but she looked much better than usual. Her hair was smooth, and the subtle details of her features were more refined; perhaps this was the pinnacle of female makeup artistry.
"Don't wear the outer wizard robe; it restricts your movement too much. Just keep the gray cashmere vest and white shirt. Oh, and I remember you still have a pair of...that? Yes, go wear those; they go perfectly with your stockings."
Head designer Parvati then offered her advice on Hermione's attire.
Upon hearing this, Hermione blushed slightly and took out a pair of short black Doc Martens from the suitcase under the bed. The boots were only slightly above the ankle, and their highlights were the openwork upper and the black fishnet-like edges.
Hermione struggled to put on her boots and fastened the small metal buckles on the side. As expected, Parvati had a good sense of style. Black boots, white stockings, and a gray school uniform—overall, she looked both delicate and alluring.
"Alright, you can go now." Just as Hermione was about to leave the dormitory, Parvati added, "Seize this opportunity. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for you. Try to win him over in one fell swoop."
Hermione's face flushed slightly, and she said somewhat embarrassedly, "What are you talking about... Ian and I were just discussing the Transfiguration lessons."
After saying that, Hermione quickly walked out of the dormitory without looking back, the soles of her boots striking the floor with a crisp knocking sound.
Behind her, Parvati wore a motherly smile, as if marveling that her daughter had finally seen the light...
……
Meanwhile, Ian was sitting in the Gryffindor common room, having waited for over half an hour.
During this time, he also greeted many people, including Harry, Ron, and the Weasley twins, and chatted briefly. Just when Ian thought he had been stood up, Hermione finally appeared.
To be honest, Ian was indeed somewhat amazed by Hermione. The familiar girl in front of him was indeed very delicate and lovely after applying light makeup.
"Let's go," Hermione said to Ian, looking a little embarrassed.
"good!"
The two walked side by side through the corridor and out of the castle gate.
Today is a rare good day; it's sunny but not hot, and the sunshine feels warm on your skin.
The two walked slowly on the lawn outside the castle. After a summer of growth, the grass, which was about a foot tall, was still lush, but it had already turned somewhat yellow.
As Ian watched the blades of grass brush against Hermione's white silk stockings, a completely unrelated ancient poem suddenly flashed through his mind: "A golden goblet of fine wine costs ten thousand coins, a jade plate of delicacies is worth ten thousand coins."
"Why did you suddenly decide to take a walk outside the castle?" Hermione had already returned to normal.
"It's nothing, it's just that we came to Hogwarts to learn magic, but magic isn't everything. Slowing down a bit might be the right thing to do."
There was something Ian didn't say: when he first saw Hermione in the Gryffindor common room this morning, he noticed a deep weariness hidden in her eyes. Even though she wore light makeup afterward, she still couldn't hide that trace of fatigue.
So Ian changed his mind at the last minute. What was originally planned to be studying Professor McGonagall's notes together was changed to taking a walk together.
"Here, I grabbed this when I passed by the Great Hall." Knowing that Hermione didn't have breakfast, Ian grabbed a sandwich and a bottle of milk when he passed by the Great Hall.
Hermione took the food Ian offered and, without any hesitation, opened the sandwich and took a small bite.
The sun was shining brightly, and a gentle breeze was blowing. The two strolled and chatted, and soon arrived at the shore of Black Lake. A gust of wind swept across the lake, creating ripples on its surface. Reflected in the azure sky, Black Lake appeared exceptionally beautiful, its surface shimmering.
"This is it." Ian said, pointing to a shady spot by the lake.
"Before, I naively thought that magic was everything, so I studied and practiced desperately, but in the end, I found that the results were not very obvious. Then one day, I suddenly didn't want to practice anymore. I went for a walk outside the castle and sat here. I realized that magic is life, and life is also magic. At that moment, I felt incredibly free and relaxed."
As Ian spoke, he led Hermione to sit down in the shade of a tree. They gazed at the Forbidden Forest in the distance, enjoying the cool autumn breeze. The breeze carried pleasant scents, perhaps the fragrance of distant flowers, or perhaps the scent of things nearby…
"Hey, look over there." Hermione suddenly patted Ian's arm lightly, then pointed to two figures in the distance.
Following Hermione's slender fingertips, Ian saw Malfoy and another Slytherin girl, Pansy Parkinson, walk out of the castle side by side, heading in another direction.
From this angle, we saw an interesting scene: Pansy kept subtly trying to hold Malfoy's hand, while the latter seemed to resist slightly, always intentionally or unintentionally pulling away.
This rather comical scene was clearly seen by Hermione, who was standing nearby.
"Hahaha, it's unbelievable that Malfoy can be shy?" The sight before her eyes successfully amused Hermione, and the girl's silvery laughter rang out.
Fortunately, they were far enough apart, otherwise the enraged and arrogant guy would definitely have fought back, and Ian might have had to take over for old Malfoy and teach his brat a lesson, even though Ian sometimes really doesn't like bullying kids.
