Chapter 13

Boss! No sudden inappropriate remarks!

Yu Heng came out of the supermarket carrying two large bags of daily necessities; the plastic bags made his fingers go numb.

Back at the villa, he threw his things on the living room floor, went straight upstairs, took a shower, and came out.

Yu Heng was rubbing himself with a towel when his WeChat rang again.

He Mengyao: "Thank you for today. I'll treat you to milk tea another day."

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow, "You got back pretty quickly." "Okay, we'll talk about it again when you're back to normal."

He Mengyao sent a hammer-on-the-head emoji: "It's alive again! Ibuprofen is awesome!"

"So you can jump and bounce now?"

"Almost there, but I'm still a little weak. Have you finished shopping?"

"I'm done shopping, just got back to my place."

"You live outside by yourself?"

"Yeah, I rented a place."

"Wow, that's luxurious!"

Yu Heng smiled but didn't reply.

He Mengyao's personality is such that strangers don't want to bother her, but acquaintances will bother her. Once you get to know her, she's quite talkative. The problem is how to become familiar with her.

Just as she was pondering this, Bai Xinran sent another message: "Boss, I suddenly thought of a question."

"explain."

"Do you provide the streaming equipment? My laptop is okay for streaming, but it's not so good for playing some single-player games."

"Want to switch to a desktop?"

"Yeah, the captains don't want to see me playing LoL every day anymore. Actually, I don't really like playing that game, but other games are too laggy."

"Okay, let's go to the computer mall together tomorrow to get some parts."

"Really? What's the budget?"

"Ten thousand or less should be enough for you."

"Boss, you're so generous! I'll kowtow to you! (*^▽^*)"

Yu Heng shook his head with a smile. He even suspected that the online chat might be a proxy chat.

Bai Xinran: By the way, where is the house? Could you send me the address?

Yu Heng: The new residential area opposite the university town, the innermost row of villas, 7 buildings.

Bai Xinran: A villa? You rented a villa?

Yu Heng: Yes, a two-story building.

Bai Xinran: Holy crap, boss, you're really going all out!

Yu Heng: Anyway, I live here, so you can come over to do a live stream after class. If you don't want to live on campus anymore, you can move here too.

Bai Xinran's screen showed "typing" for quite a while.

Bai Xinran: Move in? Live with you? That's not a good idea, boss! o(╯□╰)o

Yu Heng: What's wrong with it? There are so many rooms in this house, and you want to sleep in the same bed with me?

Bai Xinran: No! Σ(⊙▽⊙」a

Yu Heng: That's terrible. I just think it's sometimes too late for a young girl to go back after her live stream.

Bai Xinran: Is it safe to live with the boss?

Yu Heng: Don't worry, it's absolutely safe. You're not my type.

Bai Xinran: Oh ho, what kind of food does the boss like?

Yu Heng: If you can be as energetic as the live stream when you're with me, I'll definitely like it.

Bai Xinran: So this is what the boss likes!

Yu Heng: Which man doesn't like burning food?

Bai Xinran: Then go find something to burn!

Yu Heng: Aren't you already there? You can burn it online, I'm not picky.

Bai Xinran: What?! o(>﹏<)o Boss, you're not allowed to flirt with your own streamer!

Yu Heng: Haha, okay, okay, then come here at nine o'clock tomorrow morning, and then we'll go to the computer mall.

Bai Xinran: OK, I'm here on time.

Yu Heng turned off his phone and went back to his dorm to get his laptop. Then he applied to join a Bilibili guild.

.......

.......

The doorbell rang at nine o'clock the next morning.

Yu Heng yawned and opened the villa door, where Bai Xinran stood wearing a black windbreaker.

"You're right on time." Yu Heng stepped aside to let her in.

"Of course, did the boss just get up?" Bai Xinran grinned.

Yu Heng, still in his pajamas, laughed and said, "It's still a holiday, so my biological clock tells me I don't need to get up early."

Bai Xinran stepped into the entryway, her eyes lighting up: "This place is really nice!"

"Shall we take a look around first?" Yu Heng pointed inside. "You can choose a room for your live stream. I'll take the master bedroom, and you can choose from the other three guest rooms."

"Okay, let's take a look." Bai Xinran followed him inside.

Yu Heng showed her around the first floor, including the kitchen, living room, and bathroom, and then showed her the remaining rooms.

Bai Xinran peeked into each room, and finally pointed to the room on the first floor near the corridor: "This one will do, it's closer to the door."

"Okay, then leave your things here and let's head out." Yu Heng glanced at the time. "The bus runs every half hour, don't miss it."

Bai Xinran tossed her backpack onto the bed in the guest room: "Let's go!"

The two locked the door, left the residential compound, and walked to the University Town bus stop.

While waiting for the bus, Yu Heng bought a few steamed buns from a roadside stall and handed her two: "This will do. We'll have something better at the computer mall at noon."

Bai Xinran took the steamed bun and took a bite: "Thanks, boss."

The bus arrived, swaying and rattling. There were only a few people on board, mostly students.

They sat down in the back row, with Yu Heng by the window and Bai Xinran sitting next to him.

After starting the car, Yu Heng casually asked, "Where are you from?"

"The capital city." Bai Xinran took out her phone and glanced at the message.

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "Master Jing?"

Bai Xinran turned to look at him: "What's that?"

Yu Heng smiled and said, "It's nothing. Why didn't you study in the capital? Why did you come to this remote place?"

This saying doesn't seem to be popular at that time.

"I've been studying in Beijing since I was a kid, I'm tired of it." Bai Xinran put her phone back in her pocket. "Going to university in Beijing? How boring."

"Then you should go to Guangdong or Shanghai or something," Yu Heng tilted his head to look at her. "Come to Tangcheng, which is only about 400 miles from the capital. It's practically the same as not moving."

Bai Xinran pouted: "That's because I was afraid my family wouldn't allow it, so I didn't dare go too far."

Yu Heng chuckled: "Tang City is indeed not far away."

"Absolutely," Bai Xinran said proudly, raising her chin. "It only takes two hours to get home by high-speed rail, which my mom can barely accept."

So she's a rich young woman from the capital; no wonder she was willing to spend so much money on a leather case.

The car jolted, and Bai Xinran, not sitting properly, leaned towards him.

Yu Heng reached out to help her up and smelled a faint scent of shampoo.

"So what does your family do?" Yu Heng continued to probe, "so that you can afford to be so pretentious."

"Just an ordinary office worker." Bai Xinran clearly didn't want to talk about it anymore and changed the subject, "Boss, do you know anything about building a computer later? Don't get ripped off, let me give you some advice?"

"Don't worry," Yu Heng shrugged, "In my past life... no, I used to configure several units for people."

"Really? Then we don't need me!" Bai Xinran said with a smile.

"You know about computers?" Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. "Aren't all girls supposed to have their C drive completely full, their desktops covered in computers, and they know absolutely nothing about them?"

"That's a stereotype!" Bai Xinran pouted. "Not only am I good with computers, but I'm also really good at basketball! I can do everything you guys can!"

As expected of an athletic girl, Yu Heng grinned and said, "There's one sport you're definitely not good at."

"What sport?" Bai Xinran raised an eyebrow.

"A competitive sport."

Bai Xinran narrowed her eyes: "What?"

"Masturbate," Yu Heng said in a serious tone.

"You're wrong, I actually have. There are shooting ranges in the capital." Bai Xinran finished speaking and noticed something was off about Yu Heng's smile. Then she realized, "??? Boss! Don't make that inappropriate joke!"
