Chapter 82
Mission Completed
Yu Heng leaned against the desk, watching Qin Lu purse her lips and rummage through her small bag to find a pack of tissues.
Yu Heng squinted at her, saying nothing, but his meaning was clear.
Qin Lu frowned and looked up at him.
"Is that not allowed?" Yu Heng asked, looking at her.
Qin Lu's throat bobbed, and she looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes: "Satisfied now?"
Yu Heng found it somewhat amusing.
This woman, even in this situation, is still putting on airs.
"Sit down," he said, walking over to her. "Let me massage your knees."
I didn't feel it just now, but I've calmed down now.
My knees were indeed aching intermittently; the floor was a bit hard.
After she sat down, she subconsciously reached out to rub it.
But then he felt that the action would be too weak, so he held back.
Yu Heng squatted down; his palms were warm, and his pressure was just right.
Qin Lu subconsciously took a breath.
"Does it hurt?" Yu Heng stopped what he was doing and looked up to ask her.
"No..." Qin Lu avoided eye contact, "It's just... a little sour."
"It's a little red, but it's okay," Yu Heng said as he continued to massage her.
After massaging for a while, Yu Heng suddenly spoke, his voice low and casual: "Next time..."
Qin Lu was feeling drowsy when Yu Heng interrupted her before she could finish speaking: "There won't be a next time!"
Yu Heng chuckled softly and continued rubbing her left knee. "You said the same thing last time."
Qin Lu was speechless.
"That's different!" she tried to argue. "Last time was an accident; I drank too much."
"Oh." Yu Heng nodded. "So you weren't drunk this time, were you? You were quite sober just now, and you even knew... to try a different approach."
"Yu Heng!" she called him by his full name.
"Hmm?" Yu Heng responded, raising his head.
"Are you done massaging?" she said irritably, trying to pull her leg back.
"What's the rush?" Yu Heng pressed down on her leg. "Rub it again."
It feels so good, of course I should knead it a little longer.
Qin Lu tried to break free, but couldn't, so she just let him be.
After a while, Yu Heng finally let go of her hand and stood up.
After squatting for a while, his legs became a little numb, so he moved his ankles.
"Alright, you should feel better now." He looked down at her. "Go back and apply a hot towel to it again."
Qin Lu opened her eyes, glanced at him, and didn't say anything.
For some reason, the anger I felt was somewhat lessened by his words of advice.
She stood up, using the armrest of the chair for support, and bent down to pick up the small handbag that had just fallen to the ground.
She then tidied her hair and shirt.
"I'm leaving now, I still need to pick up Qin Ya!"
She slung her bag over her shoulder and turned to leave.
"Counselor," Yu Heng called from behind.
Qin Lu paused, but didn't turn around: "What now?"
"It's alright," Yu Heng said with a smile. "You go first, I'll come down in a bit."
Qin Lu turned her back to him, took a deep breath, didn't answer, opened the door and walked out quickly.
……
……
It was exactly nine o'clock.
Bai Xinran turned off the live stream, got up from her gaming chair, and didn't even dare to make any big movements.
She moved out of the room in an extremely awkward manner, almost shuffling down the stairs while holding onto the wall.
Only one floor lamp was on in the living room.
Yu Heng sat on the sofa, holding his phone, the light from the screen reflecting on his face.
Hearing the noise, he looked up: "The broadcast's over?"
Bai Xinran had no time for pleasantries, her voice trembling as she said, "I'm going to the restroom."
"Wait a minute," Yu Heng stopped her.
Bai Xinran turned to look at him: "What are you waiting for? I'm really in a hurry!"
"I know." Yu Heng put his phone aside. "How was your water intake?"
"I drank it all! I drank it all!" Bai Xinran was almost in tears. "Not a drop less! Can I go now?"
Yu Heng didn't speak, he just looked at her. Bai Xinran felt uncomfortable under his gaze: "Boss..."
"Okay," Yu Heng finally spoke, "but I have to keep an eye on things."
"What?" Bai Xinran thought she had misheard. "No! Absolutely not!!"
"Oh." Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. "Then it seems you're not in a hurry."
"I didn't!" Bai Xinran was practically jumping up and down. She bent over, her voice trembling. "I'm in a real hurry! Extremely in a real hurry!"
Yu Heng smiled and said, "How about this, you come and lie down for a while."
"Lie down for a while?" Bai Xinran didn't understand.
"Yes." Yu Heng patted the sofa next to him. "Lie down next to me."
Bai Xinran looked at him, pursed her lips, moved to the edge of the sofa, and carefully lay down on her side with her back to Yu Heng.
"Turn around." Yu Heng's voice came from above.
Bai Xinran stiffly rolled over and lay flat on her back.
Yu Heng seemed to chuckle slightly.
Then he reached out and took the phone she had been clutching in her hand.
Hers is an iPhone.
Bai Xinran opened her eyes a crack to watch him unlock the device.
Her phone didn't have a password.
"What are you doing?" she asked warily.
"Set an alarm," Yu Heng said without looking up. "It'll ring every two minutes to help distract you."
Yu Heng placed the alarm clock he had set on her lower abdomen.
……
"Let me go! I'll let you go, okay!" Bai Xinran shouted, biting her lip.
Yu Heng then slowly took his phone away and turned off the alarm.
"Can you walk by yourself?" he asked, his tone even somewhat gentle.
She shook her head in despair, her voice barely audible: "My legs are weak..."
Yu Heng didn't say anything more. He put one hand under her knees and the other hand on her back, and lifted her up in his arms.
Suddenly suspended in mid-air, the feeling of weightlessness made Bai Xinran gasp and instinctively hug his neck.
Yu Heng carried her and headed towards the first-floor restroom.
He kicked the door open, went in, and gently placed her on the cool rim of the toilet.
……
Yu Heng stroked her head, and Bai Xinran felt a lump in her throat.
It's hard to say whether it was because of the humiliation or because of this direct affirmation.
She still didn't open her eyes, but her eyelashes trembled violently a few times.
"Get up and tidy up. And then..." He paused, "there's a reward."
