Chapter 53

What's in Bai Xinran's cabinet?

"Shall we go?" Yu Heng put his camera back in his bag, stood up, and said, "Let's go check on Qin Ya next door."

Qin Lu nodded, picked up the remaining cup of milk tea, and the two left the milk tea shop together.

Through the glass window of the cat cafe next door, Qin Ya was squatting on the ground, playing with a fat orange cat.

He caught a glimpse of them coming out out of the corner of his eye, and then slowly got up.

"What did you talk about?" She pushed open the door and came out, her expression looking rather mischievous.

"What are you talking about?" Yu Heng reached out to pat her head, but she nimbly dodged him. "Go on with your live stream."

"What's the rush?" Qin Ya took a sip of her milk tea. "Even my mom isn't in a rush."

Qin Lu gently patted her back: "Stop joking around, let's go."

On the way to the villa, Qin Ya walked a few steps ahead, glancing back at the two of them from time to time.

The three of them walked to the villa entrance, and Yu Heng took out his key to open the door.

Qin Ya changed her shoes and went inside with practiced ease: "I've gone upstairs to get ready."

After saying that, he ran upstairs, leaving Yu Heng and Qin Lu in the living room.

"Please have a seat," Yu Heng gestured to the sofa. "Would you like some water or tea?"

"No need to trouble yourself," Qin Lu said, sitting down on the sofa. "I'll just sit for a while."

Yu Heng went to the kitchen, poured a cup of coffee, placed it on the coffee table in front of her, and then sat down on the single sofa opposite her.

Qin Lu picked up her cup and took a sip.

She drank her coffee very elegantly, taking small sips.

The leg that was draped over the other side was switched.

Qin Lu suddenly looked up at Yu Heng: "Don't take what Qin Ya said just now to heart. That child sometimes speaks without thinking."

"Which line?" Yu Heng leaned forward. "The one that said you looked good, or the one where I took a picture of you?"

Qin Lu didn't expect him to be so direct. She picked up her coffee, took another sip, and didn't reply.

"She's right," Yu Heng continued, "You are indeed beautiful."

"Yu Heng." Qin Lu put down her cup, her voice carrying the seriousness expected of a counselor, "I am your counselor."

"I know," Yu Heng grinned, "I didn't say anything else."

Suddenly, a scream of "Ah!" came from upstairs.

Upon hearing the sound, Qin Lu suddenly stood up, her coffee cup slipping from her hand and spilling mostly onto her skirt suit and shirt.

"Did you get burned?" Yu Heng also stood up.

"It's nothing—" Qin Lu hurriedly walked towards the stairs before she could finish speaking, her stockings at the knees already stained with coffee.

"Counselor, you should handle this first," Yu Heng stepped in front of her, "I'll go up and take a look. I guess she just fell or saw a cockroach."

Qin Lu glanced down at her soaked shirt and skirt, realizing she looked quite disheveled. After a moment's hesitation, she nodded and said, "Then you should go and take a look."

Yu Heng rushed upstairs and gently pushed open Qin Ya's door.

She was wearing headphones and speaking into the microphone when she saw Yu Heng standing in the doorway. She quickly muted her microphone, turned her head, and raised an eyebrow: "What?"

"What happened to you just now?" Yu Heng glanced around the room, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

"Someone sent me a 500 yuan special effects gift," Qin Ya pointed to the screen, "and I couldn't help but shout out."

"..." Yu Heng took a deep breath. "So jumpy. Alright, let's continue broadcasting."

In the living room, Qin Lu had already taken off her suit jacket and draped it over the sofa armrest, and was wiping the coffee stains on her shirt with a tissue.

His cup should be able to hold half a bottle of mineral water.

I only drank a few sips before it all spilled over me.

The skirt was now soaked, and the white shirt was almost the same, revealing the outline of her underwear.

Yu Heng came downstairs and cleared his throat: "Counselor, Qin Ya is fine, she was just startled when someone sent her a large gift."

Qin Lu breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this: "This child... is always so impulsive."

"Your clothes," Yu Heng pointed to her clothes, "why don't you take a shower? It's uncomfortable to have coffee sticking to your skin."

"No need," Qin Lu quickly waved her hand, "I'll just wipe it off... it'll dry in a bit..."

"How can you clean this properly?" Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. "It won't be convenient for you to go back like this, and you might catch a cold again."

Qin Lu bit her lower lip, clearly struggling with her decision.

"I have a clean towel here. Oh, right—" he suddenly remembered something, "I'll go check Bai Xinran's room. She should have a change of clothes. Your figures... well, there's quite a difference, but you should be able to wear them."

Qin Lu stood there, hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded: "Okay then, I'll go take a shower."

Yu Heng maintained a normal expression: "There are unopened towels and bath towels in the bathroom cabinet, you can use them directly. Shampoo and shower gel are also provided."

"Okay, thank you," Qin Lu said softly, picked up her suit jacket from the sofa, and went into the bathroom.

Yu Heng sent Bai Xinran a WeChat message.

"Our advisor accidentally spilled coffee on herself, and she's soaked. Could you lend her a clean set of clothes for now?"

Bai Xinran replied shortly after the message was sent.

"Okay. My room isn't locked, just go in and get it, it's in the closet."

Yu Heng walked towards Bai Xinran's room, pushed open the door, and found the room to be fairly tidy.

Since Bai Xinran started using this room, she hasn't come in except for the time she had a fever.

Yu Heng walked to the wardrobe and opened the door.

There weren't many clothes inside; a few neatly folded underwear were placed on one side, and two or three sets of everyday clothes were hanging next to them.

One outfit consists of a gray sweatshirt and black sweatpants. This style is indeed not very picky about body type, and Qin Lu should be able to wear it.

He reached out to take the clothes off the hanger when his phone suddenly started vibrating violently in his pocket—not just once, but in a series of vibrations.

Yu Heng took out his phone and saw that it was full of messages from Bai Xinran:

"etc!"

"Don't come into my room!"

"Wait, did you go in?"

Reply to this message immediately!

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow, but before he could reply, a voice call request popped up.

He answered the call, holding the phone between his shoulder and ear, still holding the clothes in his hand: "What's wrong?"

"Did you come into my room?" Bai Xinran asked quickly, with a rare hint of nervousness in her voice.

"Oh, you're in," Yu Heng said, taking his clothes off the hanger. "What happened? Did you hide gold bars in your room?"

"You opened the closet?!" Bai Xinran's tone suddenly rose.

Yu Heng had already taken the hoodie and pants in his hand, and the inside of the wardrobe that had been hidden behind it was now exposed.

His eyelids twitched, and his eyes narrowed.

Are there a few chokers on top?

Most importantly, there's actually a row of... fixed on the wall panel...?

"No!" he said instinctively. "I just came in, haven't opened the closet yet, what's wrong?"

"Then wait for me! I'll be right there! Fifteen minutes, no, ten minutes!" Bai Xinran spoke quickly. "I'll find you your clothes! You go out first! Don't stay in my room!"

A busy signal came through.

Yu Heng took the phone away from his ear and touched his chin.

I really didn't see that coming.

Outside?

That's quite a unique hobby.

The brand Huanlong doesn't exist yet, right?

Those few didn't have much of a design sense.

However, he can now confirm that Bai Xinran's costume is indeed a depiction of her inner self.
