Chapter 50
The Essence of the Female Imp
Yu Heng's eyelids twitched. Had this little girl come down from upstairs after listening to everything?
He was about to say something more when Qin Ya turned and walked away.
Watching them walk away, Yu Heng closed the door, the scent of Qin Lu's perfume still lingering in the living room.
It's not strong, but it's quite alluring.
This little girl actually knows what a rice bowl with toppings is?
Never mind, judging from her reaction, she probably won't say anything to Qin Lu.
Yu Heng leaned back on the sofa and took out his phone to check the time.
9:20.
Bai Xinran usually broadcasts until 10 PM. Today is the first day back to work, so it shouldn't be too long.
He got up and went to the kitchen, took a can of Coke from the refrigerator, pulled the tab, and took a big gulp.
Today was a busy day, from 8 a.m. to the basketball game, and then sitting with Qin Lu for three hours.
I'm not tired, but it's a bit mentally taxing.
Especially that eye contact tug-of-war with Qin Lu.
He went upstairs and turned on the computer Qin Ya used.
I glanced at the backend data and it was still viewable.
Two new captains were added today, along with several gifts worth over a hundred yuan each, totaling nearly five hundred yuan.
Good, steady growth.
But compared to Bai Xinran...
Then there's no comparison.
Yu Heng took out his phone and entered Bai Xinran's live stream.
Judging from Bai Xinran's performance today, her turnover must be at least 20,000.
As I went downstairs, I ran into Bai Xinran, who was wearing a nightgown and coming out of the bathroom.
"Oh, the boss's still here?" Bai Xinran walked to the sofa. "I thought you'd gone home long ago."
Yu Heng glanced at her legs.
The nightgown only reached the upper thigh; anything higher and everything would be visible.
"I just saw Qin Ya and the others off," Yu Heng said. "Why did you end your broadcast so early? It's only a little past 9:30."
"I'm tired," Bai Xinran yawned. "I've just recovered from my illness, so I can't push myself too hard. I need to take it slow and steady."
She paused, then suddenly seemed to remember something: "By the way, guess how much the turnover was today?"
"How many?"
"It's broken a new record!" Bai Xinran's eyes sparkled. "Thirty-two thousand!"
Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "So many?"
"When the bosses found out I was sick, they all said they would pay for my medical expenses," Bai Xinran said, counting on her fingers. "One of the new bosses even sent me a gift worth five thousand yuan."
Yu Heng grinned.
This suit is really a money-making scheme.
"Your medical bills are higher than most people's annual salary," Yu Heng joked. "Why don't you stay sick for a few more days?"
"Get lost," Bai Xinran kicked his shin. "I don't rely on playing the victim."
That kick wasn't forceful; it was just a light touch.
But Yu Heng could still feel that her feet were chilly.
"Not even wearing socks," Yu Heng said. "You just recovered from an illness, and you want to go back to the infirmary?"
"Mind your own business," Bai Xinran said, pulling her feet back onto the sofa. "I'm happy to."
Yu Heng didn't reply, his mind preoccupied with the leather case.
Bai Xinran's data proves the power of custom-made leather cases.
Qin Ya is currently using a free skin, and it's already quite good that she can attract captains, but if she wants to move up, she still needs a private skin.
"What are you thinking about?" Bai Xinran asked.
"I want to make a suit for Qin Ya too," Yu Heng said. "She's been doing well these past two days, and she gained two more captains today."
Bai Xinran nodded: "It really should be changed. Free suits aren't distinctive. Look at my suit, if I just put it there, everyone will know it's Ye Lingyuan."
She said this with a smug look on her face, but it was the truth.
Custom-made leather cases are not only for looking good, but also for being unique.
"How much did you spend on the leather case back then?" Yu Heng asked.
"More than ten thousand," Bai Xinran said. "If you were to make it for Qin Ya, it would probably cost around that much."
More than ten thousand.
It's alright, not a lot, about the same as the market a few years from now.
I haven't touched much of the 500,000 I have.
This kind of investment is worthwhile.
Even if Qin Ya stops broadcasting, the person in the costume can be recruited again.
Unlike Bai Xinran, her suit was her own.
When we get a leather case made for Qin Ya, we should probably sign a contract and go through the formalities of a business.
Base salary + commission, with a base salary of 3000?
How about a commission of 15% or 20%?
Bai Xinran then asked, "So what kind of leather case are you planning to design for her? We'll have to burn some too?"
"We definitely have to burn it," Yu Heng said, "but it has to be in the style of a little devil."
"Little devil..." Bai Xinran pondered for a moment, "That's just a loli fantasy, how do you burn it? Her chest is flat."
"Tsk, who said lolis have to be flat-chested?" Yu Heng said. "A baby face is no good, is it?"
"I don't understand." Bai Xinran pouted and pulled her nightgown down a bit. "I've only heard of this little devil you're talking about, but I don't really know what she's like."
Yu Heng leaned back on the sofa: "Simply put, the essence of a female devil lies in the desire to conquer."
"A desire to conquer?" Bai Xinran tilted her head, her hair falling loosely over her shoulders. "What do you mean?"
"Hmm," Yu Heng placed the can on the coffee table, "Think about it, a little girl who looks like she needs to be disciplined, who challenges you every day in her live streams, saying things like 'That's it?' 'No way, no way, you're already giving up?' 'Uncle, are you even capable?'"
Bai Xinran couldn't help but laugh out loud when she heard him mimicking that smug tone: "Won't you get scolded for that?"
"No," Yu Heng shrugged. "She can't be too annoying. She has to find a balance between being arrogant and cute. Besides, those who can stay in the live stream are all people who like that kind of thing."
"Moreover, engaging in 'rebuttal' comments can easily generate more traffic. The more impactful the comment, the more feedback it will receive, and this 'rebuttal' is not just simple insults."
"How so?"
"For example, if you directly call someone an idiot, there's a high chance they won't respond. But if you address their specific points, they'll start debating with you."
"for example?"
"For example, what future can someone who only reads imperial books possibly have?"
"What's wrong?"
"Then you'll have great Confucian scholars to discuss the classics with you!"
"Pfft..." Bai Xinran blinked: "And then?"
"Then she would continue to argue with the audience, which would make the audience even more eager to teach her a lesson," Yu Heng grinned, "not just verbal suppression, but also physical suppression."
"Physically?" Bai Xinran raised an eyebrow. "You wouldn't be thinking of...?"
"It's about arousing that urge in fans to think, 'I absolutely have to subdue this little brat,'" Yu Heng said with a smile. "It's not just about persuading her verbally, it's about getting her into bed."
"Tsk, pervert!" Bai Xinran scolded.
Then, after thinking for a moment, he suddenly stood up and walked up to Yu Heng.
She's 1.7 meters tall, and when she's standing, Yu Heng is sitting, so she really does look down on him.
"Like this?" She put her hands on her hips, deliberately raising her chin. "You little punk? You think you're worthy to challenge me?"
Yu Heng looked up at her and almost couldn't help but laugh.
This girl's acting was actually quite convincing.
But he said, "No, you're being too aggressive. The little devil is just bluffing; she's actually quite insecure."
"Then how do we act it out?" Bai Xinran put her hand down.
"Your tone should be arrogant, but your eyes should be darting around," Yu Heng stood up as well, now looking down at Bai Xinran. "Look, like now."
He took a small step forward.
Bai Xinran subconsciously took half a step back.
"Yes, that's the reaction," Yu Heng chuckled, "all talk and no action, but very cowardly in action."
"Who chickened out? I just lost my balance." Bai Xinran rolled her eyes. "I see now. You look serious, but you've got some expertise in this kind of unserious behavior."
"That's called market demand," Yu Heng said without changing his expression. "Tell me, isn't your revenue high the way you're broadcasting now?"
Bai Xinran pursed her lips upon hearing this, but did not refute it. That was indeed high, almost enough to earn the price of a suit of armor in a day.
She thought to herself that although her living expenses were not low, she didn't really have a big desire for money at this stage.
But she likes the feeling of having things to do and being recognized for her small achievements; it makes her feel fulfilled and satisfied.
Besides, who doesn't want more money?
Even though she made money, she still had many things to spend, and quite a few packages were already on their way!
We'll have to take it apart while Yu Heng isn't around.
"Alright, alright, I'm not going to argue with you anymore," Bai Xinran got up from the sofa. "I'm going to change and go back to my dorm!"
"Then I'll wait for you for a while, let's go back together!"
