Chapter 9

I was born in the Year of the Wolf, a pervert.

After dinner, Shen Yueling and Yu Heng went to her room.

Yu Heng lay down on her bed without any hesitation.

"Get off! I just made this bed!" Shen Yueling stood by the bed and glared at him.

"I'm tired of eating, let's rest for a while." Yu Heng put his arm behind his head and deliberately moved to the middle of the bed.

Shen Yueling reached out and pushed his shoulder: "Get up!"

Yu Heng suddenly opened his eyes, grabbed her wrist and pulled her down.

Caught off guard, Shen Yueling fell onto him, her elbow hitting his chest.

Damn! That's killing him...

Yu Heng grimaced, but his arm remained wrapped around her waist.

"What are you doing! Get up!" Shen Yueling whispered, placing her hand on his chest.

"Don't be so domineering towards me anymore." Yu Heng leaned close to her ear. "Be good, you hear me?"

"My parents are still outside!" Shen Yueling turned her head away to avoid his breath.

"Answer first." Yu Heng didn't move an inch, but nudged her with his knee.

Shen Yueling bit her lip and turned her face away: "Okay, I promise you."

Yu Heng then loosened his grip, but didn't fully stand up: "That's more like it."

"Can you let me get up now?" Shen Yueling pushed against his chest.

Yu Heng slowly rolled over and lay down to the side, then casually pulled her into his arms.

Shen Yueling struggled but couldn't break free, so she simply stopped moving.

"Shen Yueling, be gentler with me from now on." Yu Heng twirled a strand of her hair with his fingers.

"Who told you to always provoke me?" Shen Yueling pinched his waist.

"Hiss—" Yu Heng gasped, "You've already forgotten what you just promised?"

The sound of Shen's mother's footsteps came from outside the door, and the two of them fell silent at the same time.

Once the footsteps had faded into the distance, Yu Heng lowered his voice and asked, "Want to go for a walk tonight?"

"I'm not going, I'm tired." Shen Yueling said with her eyes closed.

"Then stay home." Yu Heng's hand began to wander restlessly under her clothes. "Anyway, Auntie and the others will go to sleep after watching TV."

Shen Yueling grabbed his wrist: "Don't push your luck."

"Who just promised to be good?" Yu Heng raised an eyebrow.

"That's not how you behave!" Shen Yueling kicked him. "Get off the bed, I need to make the sheets."

Yu Heng looked at her reddened ear tips and chuckled inwardly.

This woman may be fierce, but she's actually very easily charmed.

"Okay, I'm going back to sleep." He made a move to get up. "Yutong just texted me asking if I want to go shopping together tomorrow."

Shen Yueling immediately grabbed his sleeve: "When did she send you that message?"

"Just now," Yu Heng waved his phone, "Jealous?"

"Go if you want." Shen Yueling let go of her hand, turned around and tidied the sheets, her movements noticeably heavier.

Yu Heng hugged her from behind: "I was just kidding, there's no news."

"Get lost!" Shen Yueling nudged him with her elbow.

"You really aren't going out tonight?" Yu Heng inhaled the fragrance of her hair.

"What time is it?"

"Meet me at the back gate of the residential area at eight o'clock."

"What if my parents ask me where I'm going...?"

"What's wrong with just saying you're going for a walk?"

As Yu Heng spoke, he rubbed her earlobe.

He knew that was her switch.

Shen Yueling has accepted this level of intimate contact with ease.

After all, that time was much worse than these.

Moreover, she quite enjoys this kind of physical contact.

But you can't just ask for it yourself.

"Then I'll head back now!" Yu Heng put his phone back in his pocket, turned and walked out. "See you tonight!"

"Hmm." Shen Yueling didn't even look up.

Yu Heng opened the door and bumped into Shen's mother standing in the living room with a plate of washed grapes.

"Xiaoheng, you're leaving already? Stay a little longer, Auntie just washed some grapes!"

"No, Auntie, I have some things to do back home." Yu Heng bent down to change his shoes. "Thank you for lunch, Uncle and Auntie."

Shen Yueling poked her head out of the room: "Mom, he's eaten too much and needs to go back to digest."

Yu Heng turned around and glared at her, but she had already shrunk back.

"This child..." Mrs. Shen smiled helplessly, "Alright then, come visit often, Xiao Heng!"

"Okay, Auntie."

Yu Heng closed the door and heard Shen's mother inside asking, "Yueling, you and Xiaoheng didn't have a fight, did you?"

"No." Shen Yueling's voice was a little muffled through the door. "He's just being nosy."

Yu Heng pursed his lips, but couldn't help laughing as he went downstairs.

This woman is still so stubborn, but when I pinned her down just now, she didn't really push him away.

Just after eight o'clock in the evening, Yu Heng slipped on his slippers and strolled to the back gate of the community.

From afar, I could see Shen Yueling already waiting there.

"I'm three minutes late." Shen Yueling raised her hand and glanced at her watch.

She changed into a light gray tracksuit and tied her hair into a high ponytail.

Yu Heng grinned and naturally took her hand: "Let's go for a stroll in the park."

Shen Yueling struggled but couldn't break free, so she let him be.

The two walked slowly along the sidewalk toward the park.

The night breeze was quite cool, rustling the leaves of the sycamore trees along the roadside.

"What did you have for dinner?" Yu Heng asked, trying to make conversation.

"Leftovers," Shen Yueling said succinctly.

"Tsk, I ate instant noodles at home." Yu Heng sighed. "My mom went to my aunt's house, and my sister-in-law took the day off and went to bed early with the kids."

The park isn't far; it's only a ten-minute walk away.

There weren't many people around at that time, just a few elderly men and women walking their dogs.

Yu Heng pulled her to sit down on the bench, his arm naturally draped behind her back.

"It's much cooler here than inside." Yu Heng took a deep breath. "Your air conditioning is on too high; it's giving me goosebumps."

"Then don't come here." Shen Yueling moved to the side, avoiding his arm.

"That won't do." Yu Heng leaned closer. "I just love going there, to make you mad."

Shen Yueling didn't reply, and instead looked down at her sportswear zipper.

Yu Heng looked at her frizzy hair, illuminated by the streetlights, and felt a tickle in his heart.

He reached out and pulled her closer to him: "Are you cold?"

"It's hot." Shen Yueling pushed him away. "Don't get so close."

"You're just saying that." Yu Heng lowered his head and smelled her hair. "What shampoo do you use? It smells nice."

"Bee & Flower." Shen Yueling looked up and glared at him. "Are you a dog?"

"I was born in the Year of the Wolf," Yu Heng said, kissing her on the cheek. "You pervert!"

Yu Heng was in a great mood; his mindset was different after being reborn.

Ever since that incident in his past life, he had intentionally avoided being alone with Shen Yueling.

Even after marriage, he rarely saw her in order to avoid suspicion.

I can finally live life to the fullest!

Shen Yueling raised her hand and wiped her face: "Annoying."

The two were chatting casually when suddenly a rustling sound came from the nearby grove.

Yu Heng listened intently and immediately burst out laughing.

"Did you hear that?" He nudged Shen Yueling with his elbow. "So this is the field army."

Shen Yueling had obviously heard it too, and her body stiffened visibly: "Don't talk nonsense..."

"Who's talking nonsense?" Yu Heng lowered his voice. "Listen to this noise, tsk tsk, the battle is quite intense."

Shen Yueling suddenly stood up: "Let's go, it's time to go back."

"What's the rush?" Yu Heng pulled her back to her chair. "Just studying."

"If you want to learn, learn it yourself!" Shen Yueling tried hard to shake off his hand.

Yu Heng leaned close to her ear, his warm breath brushing against her earlobe: "Should we find somewhere else...?"

"Get out!" Shen Yueling stomped on his foot hard.

"Ouch—" Yu Heng winced in pain. "Just kidding, why are you taking it so seriously?"

Suddenly, all the noise in the woods stopped. A short while later, a young couple emerged hurriedly from the woods with their heads down and quickly left.

Yu Heng watched their retreating figures and couldn't help but laugh out loud: "These two know how to pick a spot, tsk, they're just a bit too fast."

Shen Yueling glared at him: "You seem quite disappointed?"

"A bit, actually." Yu Heng shrugged. "I was originally planning to watch the excitement a little longer."

"Pervert." Shen Yueling turned and walked out of the park.

Yu Heng quickly caught up with her and hugged her from behind: "You're angry already?"

"Who's angry?" Shen Yueling struggled for a moment. "I just feel disgusted."

"What's so disgusting about that? It's just human nature. Besides," Yu Heng leaned closer to her, "we almost..."

"I'll get really angry if you say that again." Shen Yueling pushed him away forcefully and walked forward without looking back.

He quickened his pace to catch up with her, took her hand, and said, "I won't say anymore, I'll take you home."

Shen Yueling didn't shake him off, but she didn't say another word the whole way.

As they reached the back gate of the residential complex, Yu Heng grabbed her arm: "Are you really angry?"

"No. It's just that I find you really annoying sometimes."

"If you hate me, why are you letting me hold your hand?"

"Shut up!"
