Chapter 68
Get Up!
The bathroom light in Qin Lu's master bedroom was still on.
She stood in front of the sink, looking at the disheveled woman in the mirror.
Her hair was wet and dripping water.
There are many red marks below the collarbone.
Qin Lu reached out and touched it; it didn't hurt, just felt a little numb.
Qin Lu closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She turned on the tap and splashed cold water on her face.
Then he stared at that face for a long time, and finally tugged at the corner of his mouth, revealing a self-deprecating smile.
Qin Lu, you're really something.
How are you any different from Lin Liyan?
She turned and walked out of the bathroom, then took a clean nightgown from the closet and put it on.
Qin Lu lay back on the bed and turned off the light.
She remembered Yu Heng's last look in his eyes.
Satisfied, languid, and with a hint of lingering satisfaction.
Qin Lu turned over and buried her face in the pillow.
The pillow smelled of her own scent, as well as Yu Heng's.
It's very faint, but you can still smell it.
Qin Lu sniffed and suddenly sat up abruptly.
He grabbed the pillow and threw it hard on the ground.
Then she got up, bent down, and picked up the pillow.
I held it in my arms and smelled it again.
She suddenly found her behavior somewhat amusing.
This time I didn't throw it away.
I held him like that and lay back down on the bed.
Qin Lu stared at the light shining through the gap in the curtains, her mind blank.
She didn't know how much time had passed before she drifted off to sleep.
In her dream, she seemed to have returned to the living room.
Yu Heng knelt before her, staring into her eyes.
She opened her mouth as if to curse him, but no sound came out.
All I could do was watch him approach, watch him reach out, watch him...
Qin Lu suddenly opened her eyes.
It was still dark.
She checked her phone and saw it was 3:30 a.m.
The screen was completely blank; there were no new messages.
Qin Lu stared at the WeChat icon for a few seconds, then tapped it.
In the blacklist, Yu Heng's profile picture lay quietly.
Her finger hovered over the profile picture, and she hesitated for a long time.
In the end, I still didn't click "remove".
I'll just block them for now.
After exiting WeChat and locking the screen, Qin Lu tossed her phone aside and lay back down.
She closed her eyes and sighed silently.
I have to go to school tomorrow.
I still have to face him.
How should we deal with this?
she does not know.
Let's take a step by step.
There are still several hours until dawn.
.......
.......
The next morning at seven o'clock.
Bai Xinran's alarm clock rang.
She drowsily turned off the button, stayed in bed for another five minutes, and then struggled to get up.
After changing clothes and washing up, it was already 7:20.
Yu Heng's room door was still closed.
Bai Xinran walked over and knocked on the door: "Yu Heng, get up."
There was no movement inside.
She knocked twice more: "Yu Heng!"
Still no sound.
Bai Xinran frowned and turned the doorknob.
The door wasn't locked.
She pushed open the door; the curtains were drawn, and the room was dimly lit.
Yu Heng was indeed still asleep.
He lay face down on the bed, his upper body completely exposed.
Bai Xinran shifted her gaze downwards.
Her face flushed, and she immediately looked away.
"Yu Heng!" she called, her voice rising a few decibels. "Get up!"
The person on the bed stirred and mumbled a response: "Mmm..."
"It's 7:20!" Bai Xinran stood at the door, unsure whether to go in or out. "Didn't you say you were going to pick up the roll-up banner?"
Yu Heng then slowly opened his eyes.
He rolled over and sat up.
Bai Xinran's gaze swept over uncontrollably.
This state clearly indicates that Uncle Chen came to see him.
She turned around abruptly, her voice trembling slightly: "Put your clothes on!"
Yu Heng looked down at himself and then realized what was happening.
But instead of covering himself with the blanket, he leaned against the headboard and lazily watched Bai Xinran's back.
"It's not like I haven't seen it before." His voice was still hoarse from just waking up. "Didn't I see you sleeping naked last time?"
"That's not the same thing!" Bai Xinran said, her back to him. "That time you were taking me to the hospital!"
"So you're here to wake me up this time?" Yu Heng said matter-of-factly. "It's pretty much the same thing."
"Not even close!" Bai Xinran practically wanted to rush over and punch him. "Put your clothes on right now!"
Seeing her reaction, Yu Heng suddenly felt like teasing her.
He deliberately took his time slowly lifting the covers and getting out of bed.
Footsteps approached.
Bai Xinran froze: "You're dressed?"
"No, not yet." Yu Heng had already walked up behind her, very close. "I can't find my underwear. Could you check if it fell on the floor?"
Bai Xinran: "..."
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Then she suddenly turned around and shoved him away: "Find it yourself!"
Yu Heng was pushed back half a step by her, but he wasn't angry. Instead, he laughed: "That much strength?"
"You deserve it!" Bai Xinran glared at him. "You pervert! Cover it up right now!"
"Haha," Yu Heng chuckled, "Why don't you come downstairs? I'm not tying you up."
"Hurry up and get dressed!" Bai Xinran blushed at his words and fled the room as if escaping. "I'll wait for you downstairs!"
Yu Heng watched her retreating figure, raised an eyebrow, and walked to the wardrobe.
I opened the drawer, took out a pair of underwear, put them on, and then put on a sweatshirt and sweatpants.
When I finished washing up and came downstairs, Bai Xinran was already sitting at the dining table.
There were two glasses of milk and a few slices of bread in front of me.
Yu Heng sat down opposite her, picked up a glass of milk, and took a sip: "What are you wearing to the recruitment today?"
"Just this outfit," Bai Xinran glanced down at her T-shirt and work pants. "Then just put on a down jacket, what's wrong with that?"
"Isn't that too casual?" Yu Heng looked her up and down. "Our club is recruiting new members, and as the top anchor, shouldn't you be dressed a bit better?"
"I'm not showing my face anyway," Bai Xinran said nonchalantly. "It doesn't matter what I wear."
"That's different." Yu Heng narrowed his eyes. "Even if we don't show our faces, we still need to show off our figures. When we go to recruit new members, we need to attract people."
Bai Xinran raised an eyebrow: "So what do you want me to wear?"
"Do you have any clothes that show off your figure or are a bit sexy?" Yu Heng's eyes swept over Bai Xinran.
Bai Xinran rolled her eyes: "Big brother, it's the end of October, you want me to dress sexy? I'd rather freeze to death."
"It's not like I'm asking you to go naked," Yu Heng said, taking a sip of milk. "A tight-fitting sweater is fine, right? Or one of those fitted knitwear pieces, with a skirt and leggings underneath."
"I don't," Bai Xinran said crisply. "My clothes are basically all men's clothing. I don't own a single skirt, and even my jeans are straight-leg."
Yu Heng was taken aback: "Not even one?"
"Not a single one." Bai Xinran shrugged. "I've never worn a skirt since I was a child. I think it's too inconvenient to exercise."
"Wouldn't it be inconvenient to wear pants?" Yu Heng said with a laugh.
Bai Xinran frowned: "Why is it inconvenient to wear pants?"
"Look, how convenient is this skirt? You can just lift it up anytime, anywhere," Yu Heng explained earnestly.
Bai Xinran rolled her eyes at him: "I knew you were going to say something inappropriate!"
"Haha." Yu Heng couldn't help but laugh, then asked again, "Really not?"
"Really, there isn't any." Bai Xinran said firmly. "If you don't believe me, go look through my closet yourself."
"You're making me go through your closet again this time?" Yu Heng asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Go ahead and look," Bai Xinran said nonchalantly. "We've already seen it all."
"Fine," he sighed, "then you can wear this."
After the two finished breakfast, Bai Xinran put on her long black down jacket and wrapped herself up tightly.
Yu Heng glanced at the length of her down jacket; it almost reached her ankles.
"Your clothes..." he couldn't help but say, "They look like a sack."
"Just make sure you stay warm." Bai Xinran zipped up her jacket. "Are we going or not?"
"Let's go, let's go."
