Chapter 65

Your Body Is Saying Yes

Qin Lu froze on the sofa, the alcohol slowing her reactions.

But the meaning of that sentence was too straightforward; there was no way she wouldn't understand.

She turned her head and stared at Yu Heng, trying to find any trace of a joke on his face.

"You..." Qin Lu opened her mouth.

She felt a sense of absurdity, along with a certain offended shame.

But strangely, I didn't seem to be angry.

Perhaps it's because the alcohol numbed my emotions.

Perhaps it's because the blow this afternoon was too great.

She was actually seriously considering that sentence.

No, that's not right.

She shook her head violently, trying to shake the thought off.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" She turned her face away. "Are you joking about the teacher?"

Yu Heng looked at her, leaned forward slightly, rested his elbows on his knees, and closed the distance between them.

"How am I talking nonsense?" Yu Heng's voice was seductive. "If he can find someone, why can't you?"

The scene from that afternoon flashed through her mind.

Lin Liyan held the young girl tightly, his eyes filled with disgust and indifference as he looked at her.

That girl was indeed young, and her skin was firm.

Her eyes were filled with panic and vulnerability. Was that why Lin Liyan protected her so much?

"I'm not young anymore," she said with a self-deprecating laugh. "I'm thirty-eight. Who would be interested in me?"

"Me?" he answered without the slightest hesitation. "I've always been interested in you, haven't you noticed?"

Qin Lu turned her head sharply and finally met his eyes.

"You..." she managed to utter, "Do you know what you're saying?"

"Of course I know." Yu Heng even leaned closer, their knees almost touching. "I'm very interested in you."

"Qin Lu." He called her by her full name for the first time, omitting any other titles. "I want you."

Upon hearing these words, Qin Lu felt all the blood rush to her head.

"Are you drunk too?" Her voice trembled. "How could you say such a thing?"

Yu Heng smiled and gently tapped her calf with his fingertip.

Qin Lu tried to pull her leg back as if she had been electrocuted, but Yu Heng lightly pressed down on her ankle.

It didn't take much force, but it was enough to immobilize her.

"I'm perfectly alert," Yu Heng said. "And you must have sensed it a long time ago, right?"

"What do you feel?" Qin Lu's voice was as soft as a whisper.

"You sensed my gaze, my thoughts," Yu Heng said slowly. "You didn't usually wear stockings, did you? At least the few times I came to your office, I never saw you wearing any."

"But," Yu Heng continued, "ever since I complimented you on how good you looked in stockings, you've worn them almost every day."

"Nutrition-colored, black, with letters... all kinds of styles." Yu Heng smiled, looking at her, and said, "Today when I went to the city, I even wore such a see-through pair of black stockings."

"Stop talking!" Qin Lu interrupted him, her voice rising, "How could me wearing stockings be because of you!"

"Really?" Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. "Then it can't be because of me?"

"Qin Lu, you want this too, don't you?" His voice lowered further. "Your heart, your body... have been lonely for too long. That man didn't cherish you, why not find someone else to cherish you?"

"No!" Qin Lu tried to pull her leg back forcefully. "Yu Heng, we can't! I'm so much older than you, I still have Qin Ya, I'm not divorced yet... We can't..."

Yu Heng listened quietly to her finish speaking, and then he loosened his grip on her ankle.

Just when Qin Lu thought he was going to give up, Yu Heng stood up.

He looked down at her, who was nestled on the sofa.

Her nightgown was disheveled, her long hair was loose, her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were panicked and watery.

Where is his usual capable and serious demeanor now?

Yu Heng's heart also raced. He knew he was playing with fire, testing an extremely dangerous boundary.

But the sight before him made her weakly resist; the wavering in her eyes made him take a step forward and kneel on one knee on the carpet in front of the sofa.

"Then I'll come over here now," Yu Heng looked at her and asked, word by word, "Will you push me away?"

The distance is too close.

Qin Lu leaned back instinctively, her mind blank.

Push him away?

Yes, she should push him away.

With force, without hesitation.

Then he was sternly reprimanded and told to leave immediately.

She didn't push him away in the end, but muttered dejectedly, "Stop saying such seductive things..."

"Since you don't refuse," Yu Heng's voice was a little hoarse, "I'll take that as your consent."

"Yu Heng! No... who taught you all this..."

"Does this need to be taught?" he countered. "Men are born knowing what kind of woman they want."

"Qin Lu, both here and here... are saying it's okay."

"you…"

Qin Lu had just opened her mouth when Yu Heng interrupted her.

"Don't speak, let me finish," Yu Heng continued. "Do you know that every time you come to the villa to drop off Qin Ya, I'm watching you?"

Qin Lu's breath hitched for a moment.

Yu Heng spoke bluntly, without any embellishment: "I've counted, you've worn seven different kinds of stockings. The flesh-colored ones are the most common, and the black ones with letters are my favorite."

"You..." Qin Lu's voice trembled, "How could you..."

"Why can't I?" Yu Heng interrupted her. "I'm a man, and you're a woman. I look at you because you're beautiful, and because I want you."

"But I'm your teacher..."

"So?" Yu Heng laughed, "Aren't teachers women too?"

His hand slid from her neck to her shoulder, his fingertips hooking the thin strap of her nightgown.

Qin Lu trembled all over.

"Yu Heng, don't..." She raised her hand to push him away.

"Don't what?" Yu Heng pressed her hand back onto the sofa. "Don't touch you? Or don't say what you've actually been thinking about?"

Qin Lu's pupils dilated slightly.

Has she thought about it?

Of course I've thought about it.

How could she not have thought about it during those lonely nights?

But she can't admit it now, to a boy who is more than ten years younger than her.

"I didn't..." she murmured.

"You do." Yu Heng's tone was resolute. "Every time you come to the villa, you subconsciously look for my reaction. What you care about is whether I'll look or not, right?"

Qin Lu opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

He's right about everything.

Every detail, every little action she thought was secret.

He had seen it all.

She closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling.

About a minute later.

It might take longer, Qin Lu opened her eyes again.

"Yu Heng," her voice was soft but clear, "I'm thirty-eight years old."

"I know."

"I have a daughter who sleeps in the next room."

"I know."

"I'm not divorced yet; legally, I'm still someone else's wife."

"I know."

Qin Lu took a deep breath: "Then why are you still..."

"None of this matters," Yu Heng said, enunciating each word clearly. "Tell me, do you yourself think these things matter?"

Qin Lu's breathing became rapid.

Yeah, what else matters?

The marriage has already broken down and exists in name only.

What does age difference matter?

She has a daughter, has been married before, and yet she still thinks about growing old with him?

As he said, the pleasure between men and women is enough.

"Qin Lu, look at me." His voice was firm and brooked no argument. "Tell me, do you want it or not?"

She looked at his young yet aggressive face.

"I..." she opened her mouth, her voice hoarse, "I don't know..."

"You know," Yu Heng stared at her, "your body is trembling; it's expectant."
