Chapter 1137
EVA World: Big Daddy is Here!
Watching his daughter's retreating figure, he murmured to himself: "Be happy, you brat."
Misato opened the door, and Choi Myung was standing there, with Asuka and her mother waiting beside him. Choi Myung met Misato's gaze and nodded slightly: "Everything settled? It's time to get down to business."
Miri nodded in agreement, then turned back and waved to her father before leaving with Choi Myung and the others, her eyes filled with determination—this time, she was determined to completely eliminate the trouble and protect everything she cherished.
Misato got into Choi Myung's car, closed the door, and looked around. Not seeing any familiar faces, she asked, "By the way, where are Asuka and the others? Why didn't they come with you to pick me up?"
Choi Myung gripped the steering wheel, keeping his eyes on the road ahead and driving smoothly, replying in a calm tone: "This matter... is actually a bit strange. Asuka hasn't arrived at this timeline yet, but her mother, Ms. Zeppelin, has."
He paused, then added, his tone tinged with confusion, "There's another problem: Asuka's father had already passed away by this point in time."
"That's all? What do you mean?" Misato frowned, not quite understanding at first, and asked again.
"This person no longer exists. No trace of him can be found in either the present or future timelines," Cui Ming explained succinctly, without any further speculation.
"Oh?" Misato nodded in understanding at first, then looked puzzled. This situation was indeed strange and completely beyond conventional understanding.
"Who knows what happened? It might be due to fluctuations in the timeline, or it might be a deviation during the repair of the world's consciousness." Cui Ming said casually while controlling the speed of the car. He glanced at Miri and reached for the cigarette in her pocket, so he freed one hand and handed her the car lighter, lighting it for her.
"Smoke less. Don't forget that your body has just recovered and you look much younger. Don't ruin yourself." His tone carried a hint of admonition, without any forceful rebuke, only subtle concern.
Misato took a drag of her cigarette, slowly exhaling a smoke ring, her expression softening slightly. "Yes, I know." She paused, then steered the conversation back to the main topic, "It's just that this whole thing seems so complicated. What did Ms. Zeppelin say? What does she plan to do?"
"She said she'd come and stay with us first, and then we'd discuss the rest when Asuka arrives," Cui Ming replied calmly, his tone even and unwavering.
"??????" Misato's eyes widened instantly, her face full of astonishment. She hadn't expected this outcome. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then swallowed back her words. "No! This... never mind, it's fine this way. Everyone knows each other, and it's easier to take care of each other if we live together."
"Hmm," Cui Ming responded softly, and the car smoothly navigated the streets, heading towards their temporary lodging. A brief silence fell over the car, broken only by the occasional soft puff of Misato's cigarette. Both of them were secretly pondering the bizarre circumstances surrounding Asuka's disappearance and her father's vanishing.
The car came to a smooth stop downstairs at their temporary lodging. Choi Myung got out first and opened the car door for Miri. The two went upstairs together, and when they entered, Zeppelin was sitting on the living room sofa tidying up. When he saw them return, he stood up and smiled gently, his demeanor as natural as if he had been living there for a long time.
Over the next few days, everything proceeded smoothly. Misato finalized her enrollment arrangements, packed her bags, and prepared to register at the university. Zeppelin, on the other hand, settled down completely, managed the household impeccably, and grew increasingly familiar with Choi Myung.
Misato thought she was just moving in with a familiar face, so she didn't think much of it and went to university with her backpack. But she hadn't been sitting in class for long when suddenly her heart sank, and it dawned on her—oh no! A wolf had broken into her house!
How could she have forgotten Zeppelin's feelings for Choi Ming! Back when they first met, Misato had vaguely sensed something unusual in Zeppelin's gaze towards Choi Ming, but Asuka intervened, and the matter was dropped. But now it's different. Asuka hasn't arrived in this timeline yet, and only Choi Ming and Zeppelin are left in the large house—this is practically a godsend. How could Zeppelin possibly give up so easily?
At this moment at home, Zeppelin brought a freshly brewed coffee to Choi Myung's side, her eyes filled with undisguised tenderness, silently thinking: Asuka, my daughter! I'm sorry! This time, Mom won't miss her again.
She handed the coffee to Choi Myung, her fingertips brushing casually against the back of his hand. Watching Choi Myung's profile as he focused on his work, a triumphant smile played on her lips. Inwardly, she cheered: Choi Myung is awesome! Hahahaha! This time I've finally succeeded!
Cui Ming took the coffee, his fingertips touching the warm cup, and looked up at Zeppelin, his tone calm yet knowing: "Is there something you need, Ms. Zeppelin?"
Zeppelin didn't answer directly, but took a half step closer, his eyes gentle yet filled with undisguised affection, his tone ambiguous: "What do you think?"
"Understood." Cui Ming nodded slightly, without any unnecessary affectation, put down his coffee and stood up. "I'll lock the door."
Now that things have come to this, there's no need to pretend anymore. He knows that Zeppelin has been hiding his feelings for a long time, and since Asuka hasn't arrived yet, deliberately avoiding the situation would only make things awkward and could even affect the team's synergy later on. He needs to act when the time is right to stabilize the situation and prevent problems from arising within the team.
Cui Ming strode to the door, locked it behind him, and shut out any outside interference. As he turned around, Zeppelin was already slowly approaching, his eyes full of anticipation.
Without any unnecessary fuss, everything fell into place naturally. Zeppelin completely let down his guard, feeling as if he had just received rain after a long drought, releasing all the emotions that had been pent up for so long, and immersing himself in satisfaction.
Although Zeppelin herself was not weak, she was facing someone like Cui Ming, whose endurance was terrifyingly absurd, and she couldn't hold out for long.
In the end, she completely let down her guard, her whole body radiating ultimate satisfaction. She was so exhausted that she barely had the strength to lift her hand and leaned against the side, breathing slightly.
After regaining her composure, Zeppelin's first thought was to berate her daughter: "That wretched, stupid daughter! She always eats so well with Cui Ming, taking advantage of everything, and doesn't even know how to be filial to her mother! She really doesn't understand filial piety!"
She gave a soft hum, but her eyes were full of triumphant smiles. She felt that she had finally not missed the opportunity this time, and it made up for the regret of Asuka ruining the chance before.
What a rebellious daughter! She really is a rebellious daughter!!!
What a despicable guy!
Such a good man, and I had to personally take care of him!
You are such a good daughter to me!
I'm getting angrier and angrier the more I think about it!
That darn Asuka! Do you really enjoy eating alone?!
*Hiss.* No, Cui Ming's combat power is too high; I can't handle it! (End of Chapter)
