Chapter 1453

Riot Control Force! Charge!

Because there were many villagers, they could not be killed directly.

Cui Ming actually found it quite troublesome. He was hitting them one by one with his stick, and his wrists were starting to ache. Spike was darting around nearby, swinging the parasite in his mouth, but villagers kept pouring out of the mist like an endless purple tide. Cui Ming's job now was to rescue people, so he had no choice. He preferred direct confrontation; at least then he wouldn't have to hold back. Even though he was beating these controlled villagers to a pulp, he still needed to conserve his strength and control the angle of his attacks…

He frowned as he swung his stick, staring at the dark mass of people before him. The villagers had parasites clinging to their necks, their eyes vacant, but their bodies were still flesh and blood. A hard blow would land them in the ICU, a light blow wouldn't dislodge the parasites. Spike was frantically running around, his massive claws pinning down one, his mouth barely catching a parasite before three more pounced on him.

"Boss! This quantity is wrong!" Spike spat out the purple residue in his mouth, his eyes wide with shock. "My mouth is sore!"

Cui Ming ignored it and struck a villager precisely on the shoulder blade with his stick. The villager yelled and the parasite on his neck bounced up. Spike swept his tail and sent the parasite flying like a tennis ball.

"Ah... I can't take it anymore!" Cui Ming slammed his riot baton on the ground and yelled into the communicator, "Hey! This is Cui Ming! TPC! Get the riot police here!!!! Hurry up! Get them all in their gear."

Megumi's voice came through the communicator, tinged with a smile, accompanied by the sound of keyboard typing in the background: "Okay, just a moment, Choi."

Cui Ming, expressionless, knocked down another villager who lunged at him, his voice steady: "Captain, although we are husband and wife, let's not call each other so intimately during work hours."

"..." There was a two-second silence on the other end of the communicator. When Megumi Kijima's voice came through again, it had returned to its usual businesslike indifference. "Alright, then, Captain Choi, please wait a moment."

“Okay.” Cui Ming hung up the call and turned to Spike, saying, “Hold on for another five minutes.”

"Five minutes?" Spike swatted two parasites away with one paw, muttering, "I want to lie down right now!"

The riot police are a pretty scary force.

That's a special unit composed of burly, violent men recruited by the TPC from all over the world. There's no other way; Japan has plenty of troublemakers, and sometimes they even try to use moral blackmail, saying things like, "Why does the TPC have the right to restrict our freedom?" or "Aliens are living beings too!" So, the only solution is to beat them to a pulp. The riot police are experts at dealing with these guys.

Their weapons are suppression guns and batons, both non-lethal, but infused with chemicals. They don't injure, but they hurt! It's not ordinary pain; it's a deep, bone-chilling pain that instantly incapacitates, yet leaves no permanent damage. Of course, they also have lethal weapons, but they're not used normally. The riot police's principle is: "First, make you feel pain until you obey; if you don't obey, then we'll consider other options."

"Hello, this is Megumi Kijima, riot police, let's move out." Kijima Kijima's voice rang out in the TPC command room, crisp and efficient.

"yes!!!!"

A chorus of angry roars came from the other end of the communicator, like the howls of dozens of wild beasts at the same time.

Then--

Whoosh!!!

Several troop carriers, as if drunk, violently charged towards Cui Ming's position. The tires screeched as they rolled over the gravel road, their headlights flashing like the eyes of wild beasts in the mist. Before the vehicles had even come to a complete stop, the back doors were kicked open, and a group of burly men, generally over 1.9 meters tall, dressed in black riot gear and wearing masks, jumped out. Their batons glowed with an eerie blue light, and their sniper rifles emitted the distinctive green mist of chemical agents.

The burly man leading the group was a blond, blue-eyed Russian. He glanced at the villagers controlled by the parasite, grinned, revealing his white teeth, and then roared in heavily accented Japanese:
"Comrades! Let's get to work! Let's show these purple bugs what professionalism is!"

"Oh!!!" The riot police, like a herd of wild bulls released from their pen, thundered into the battlefield.

Seeing this, Cui Ming finally breathed a sigh of relief, slung the riot baton over his shoulder, took two steps back, and made way for the group of violent men.

“They’re finally here,” he said in a low voice, then beckoned to Spike. “Spike, let’s go, take a break.”

"Woof! I've been waiting to hear that!" Spike plopped down on the ground, his tongue lolling out like a dog that had collapsed from exhaustion.

Tom and Jerry emerged from the side. Tom hunched over, looking blankly at the rioters, while Jerry squatted on a rock, patting the ground with his little paws and laughing so hard he was convulsing.

In the fog, the riot police's batons began to thud, accompanied by the muffled thuds of screams from the villagers—and the parasites on their necks.

"Ah!!! What is this?!"

"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Stop hitting me!!"

"A bug! A bug fell down! Help!!!"

The burly Russian man slammed a stick into a villager's back, sending the parasite on the villager's neck flying three meters away. He nodded in satisfaction and reported through his communicator, "Target cleared! Next!"

Cui Ming leaned against a rock by the roadside, took out a protein bar from his pocket, tore open the packaging, and slowly chewed it.

Kijima's voice came through the communicator, this time truly businesslike: "Team Leader Choi, the riot police have arrived. Please give instructions on the next steps."

"Watch them fight." Cui Ming chewed on a protein bar, his voice muffled. "When they're done, call it a day and go home."

"……receive."

In the fog, the roars of the riot police and the screams of the villagers mingled together, like an absurd symphony.

Cui Ming simply ate his protein bar quietly, waiting for the farce to end.

Magnia, on the other hand, was also furious.

It huddled underground in the center of the village, its core trembling violently, purple liquid churning like boiling mud. Through the parasite's vision, it saw the scene outside—the human named Cui Ming wielding a stick and frantically hitting people, the large dog carrying the parasite and swinging it around, and those burly black men who suddenly rushed in, waving glowing sticks and sending its parasites flying one by one.

Holy crap! What's going on?

Magnia's core emitted a sharp buzzing sound, like some ancient alarm. It couldn't understand how it, having only come to Earth to absorb some energy, had suddenly become the target of a mob attack. Those parasites were its clones, its eyes, its limbs, yet now they were being beaten like baseballs! (End of Chapter)
