Chapter 1428
Ampera: I'm shameless!
"Forget it." Cui Ming closed his eyes again and leaned back. "You guys do whatever you want. Anyway, with Father of Ultra watching over us, it shouldn't be a big problem..."
He paused, then added:
"……Bar?"
Hikari and Angie exchanged a glance and burst out laughing at the same time.
“Cui, you just said ‘right’!” Anqi pointed at his nose.
"I told you."
"You're clearly worried!"
“It’s normal for me to be worried.” Cui Ming closed his eyes, but the corners of his mouth curved up. “That’s Hikari, the most troublesome scientist in the entire universe. If I’m not worried, it means my heart has stopped.”
"Hey!" Hikari grumbled, "I'm really confident this time! Even Father of Ultra has given his approval!"
"He also stamped your knightly aura back then."
"..."
"And then you almost died."
"..."
“So,” Cui Ming pulled Angie back into his arms and adjusted to a more comfortable position, “before I truly fall asleep and dream of beating Ambera, Hikari, promise me one thing.”
"what?"
“If that time-space cannon really malfunctions,” Cui Ming’s voice grew softer, his feigned sleep deepening, “remember… bombard the enemy first… then bombard our own people…”
"Cui Ming? Cui Ming!"
Hikari called out twice and found that Cui Ming had entered a semi-conscious state, breathing steadily, but his fingers were still on the holster.
Angie put a finger to her lips: "Shh, he's asleep."
"Asleep? Really asleep?" Hikari whispered. "He wouldn't have gone again..."
“He’s gone to fight Ambera in his dreams.” Angie nodded, her tail gently wrapping around Cui Ming’s wrist as if protecting something. “Let him go. At least he’s safe here.”
Hikari looked at Choi Myung's sleeping face, a hint of heartache flashing in his blue eyes.
This is Storm One.
Even sleeping is a battle, even resting is overtime.
There's a reason why the Ultra Clan dotes on him.
Who wouldn't feel sorry for a child like that?
“I’ll keep an eye on Villkiss,” Hikari said softly, as if making a promise, or perhaps talking to himself. “I won’t let him crash into himself, I promise.”
Angie smiled but didn't say anything.
The lounge fell silent again.
In his dream, Cui Ming once again faced the dark army of the Ambera aliens. But a slight smile played on his lips.
Because in reality, someone was holding him, someone was protecting him, and someone promised not to let him be hit by their own people's weapons.
This is enough.
Even if the dream is filled with mountains of knives and seas of fire, even if that old bastard Abe no Nakamaro sends out another 100,000 troops.
He dared to hit him.
Because he knew that when he woke up, Angie would still be there, Hikari would still be there, and all those who did scientific research, training, and barbecuing would still be there.
This is what rest is all about.
Even though it was a dream scenario where I was single-handedly defending against the Dark Emperor, I felt at ease. As for whether Hikari would actually pull off an incredible feat?
Cui Ming thought about it in his dream, and then decided not to think about it anymore.
Anyway, Father of Ultra is watching over things.
It should be... not a big problem...
……Bar?
Choi Myung felt that it was better not to have any expectations of Hikari.
Therefore, he completely gave up thinking and let his consciousness sink into the depths of the dream.
Darkness surged in like a tide, then solidified into solid ground beneath his feet. Cui Ming opened his eyes and found himself standing on a desolate battlefield. The sky was blood red, and in the distance, black mountains undulated like sleeping behemoths.
Opposite him, the Alien Ambera sat on a throne formed from dark energy, holding a cup—something unknown, dark and bubbling.
"You've arrived?" Ambera looked up, her crimson eyes shining like two lanterns in the darkness. "Three seconds later than I expected. What's wrong? Were you held up by some pretty girl in real life?"
“I’m being held up by the scientists.” Cui Ming cracked his knuckles as he moved his wrists. “Hikari built a cannon that can blast through three dimensions. I’m worried he might blast me in too.”
"Hahaha!" Ambella slammed the cup to the ground, splashing the dark liquid everywhere and corroding it into sizzling pits. "That blue-skinned brat? I remember him! Back then, when the life solidification technology caused chaos in the universe, wasn't it him who came up with it? Your Ultra race is truly full of talented people, each one more capable of causing trouble than the last!"
"Stop talking nonsense." Cui Ming drew the Radiant Gun from his waist, its barrel gleaming coldly in the darkness. "How long will this last?"
"Fight until I'm satisfied!"
Ambella abruptly stood up, the Dark Throne shattering into countless fragments behind him. He was tens of meters tall, covered entirely in black armor, his cloak billowing behind him like the night sky, and with each step he took, the ground cracked open in spiderweb-like patterns.
Cui Ming stood right in front of him, as insignificant as an ant.
But Choi Myung did not transform.
He simply gripped the Radiant One tightly, bent his knees slightly, and assumed a fighting stance.
"Not transforming?" Ambella raised an eyebrow—if that writhing darkness could be called an eyebrow. "What about Nexus? Ace? Zoffy? You're not going to use your Ultraman powers?"
"No need," Cui Ming said calmly. "I've done enough of you in a human form."
"Insanity!"
With a maniacal laugh, Ambera threw a punch that was bigger than Cui Ming's entire body, sending pebbles flying into the air.
Cui Ming did not dodge.
He charged forward to meet the fist, twirled the Radiant Blade in his hand, aimed the muzzle at Ambella's knuckles, and pulled the trigger.
boom!
The red beam pierced through Ambera's fist, creating a cloud of black blood mist. Ambera grunted, her fist veering three inches off course and slamming into the ground beside Cui Ming, blasting a crater ten meters in diameter.
Meanwhile, Cui Ming had already used the shockwave from the explosion to leap onto Ambera's arm and, like a nimble monkey, sprinted along the gaps in his armor.
"Alright!" Ambera laughed instead of getting angry, slapping her arm with her other hand as if to smash Cui Ming into a meat patty. "Again! Again!"
The moment Ambella's palm struck down, Cui Ming suddenly kicked off his elbow joint, launching himself into the air and somersaulting. The Radiant One fired in quick succession, three beams of light accurately hitting Ambella's shoulder, neck, and eyes.
"Roar!"
Ambera covered his eyes and took three steps back, each step causing the ground to shake. When he lowered his hand, a charred scar appeared over his scarlet eye, but his smile became even more ferocious.
"Awesome! So awesome!" He spread his arms wide, and dark energy surged from his body, like countless black venomous snakes slithering through the air. "Those Ultramen, they're so hesitant to fight, all that talk about light, love, and protection, it's so annoying! Only you! Cui Ming! Only you dare to fight me like this!"
"Enough with the nonsense."
Cui Ming landed on the ground, his knees slightly bent to absorb the impact, then charged forward again. His speed was inhuman; each step left a shallow crater in the ground. The Radiant One fired continuously, beams of light raining down on Ambella like a storm. (End of Chapter)
