Chapter 1316

Security Guard: You scared me to death!

Sextant's face was swollen like that of a giant.

His face was completely distorted by the wasp stings. His originally angular features were now swollen and shiny, his skin was so tight that it looked like it was about to burst open, his eyes were narrowed into slits, his nose was so swollen that it took up half of his face, his lips were thick and turned outwards, and his whole face had a strange bluish-purple color. He didn't look like a living person at all.

Then, as soon as Sextant arrived at NERV headquarters, he encountered the security guard who had beaten him up before.

The security guard was standing on duty at the gate, holding a stun gun, yawning listlessly. When he squinted at the bloated figure limping towards him, he didn't recognize him at first, only instinctively tightening his grip on his weapon. As the person took a few steps closer, the guard's eyes widened, his pupils contracted sharply, and his hand holding the stun gun began to tremble violently.

When the security guard saw the sextant, he was so frightened that he started hitting it randomly!
Sextant's current appearance was indeed terrifying. His swollen and deformed face gleamed eerily in the dim light, bandages hung crookedly on his body, stained with blood, and he dragged a clearly broken leg, leaving bloody footprints with every step. He was also making indistinct groans, looking like a living corpse that had just crawled out of the morgue.

"A ghost! A ghost!!!"

The security guard let out a bloodcurdling scream, his adrenaline surged, his mind went blank, and only instinctive fear drove his body. He raised his stun gun and rushed forward, wildly swinging it at the "monster" without thinking twice, the crackling of electricity echoing through the corridor.

The security guard brutally beat up the sextant's skilled hands and feet.
The stun baton slammed heavily into Sextant's uninjured arm, the powerful electric current instantly paralyzing half of his body, distorting his screams. Then the security guard kicked his barely functional leg, sending Sextant crashing to the ground like a broken sack. Before he could even explain, a barrage of punches and kicks rained down on him.

"Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer! Die! Die!"

The security guard screamed as he unleashed a barrage of punches, aiming his fists specifically at Sextant's swollen face, each blow accompanied by the muffled thud of flesh being squeezed out. His feet, meanwhile, relentlessly kicked Sextant's healthy legs and arms, the crisp cracking of bones breaking clearly audible.

Sextant rolled on the ground, howling in agony. His already severely injured body suffered a second round of torment. He tried to shout, "I am the commander," but his mouth was so swollen that he couldn't even move his tongue. He could only make muffled whimpering sounds, which sounded more like the cries of a wild beast. This only made the security guard more convinced that he was dealing with some kind of monster, and he became even more ruthless.

"Die, monster! Die!"

Only after Sextant had completely passed out, lying motionless on the ground like a puddle of mud, did the security guard stop, panting heavily. His hands trembling, he pulled out his walkie-talkie, his voice choked with tears: "Report... There's... there's an unidentified creature at the gate... I've subdued it... Requesting backup... Requesting backup!"

After the security guards arrived, they saw what Sextant looked like and started ganging up on him again.

Three or five uniformed security guards rushed in, carrying flashlights and batons. The bright light shone on Sextant's swollen and shiny face. His bluish-purple skin gleamed eerily in the light. His lips were turned outward, his eyes were narrowed to slits, and he looked like an over-soaked corpse, still twitching slightly on the ground.

"Holy crap! What is this thing?!"

"A monster! It must be a variant of the Apostle!"

"Don't let it get up! Beat it up!"

Flashlights clattered down, batons lashed Sextant's back and legs, the beating that had barely stopped escalating again. Sextant was kicked around like a tattered sack, his brand-new bandages instantly soaked with blood, and several more shoe prints appeared on his giant face. He tried to raise his intact hand to beg for mercy, but it was mistaken for an attack, immediately drawing even more brutal blows. "It dared to reach out! Hit it! Hit it to death!"

"Wow, that skin is really thick! Are all apostles' bodies this tough?"

So much so that Cui Ming, who came to check on the situation, didn't understand what was going on.

Hearing the commotion and screams in the corridor, Cui Ming frowned and strode over, carrying a thermos filled with hot water. He turned the corner and saw a group of security guards standing in a circle, punching and kicking something on the ground, shouting slogans like "Eliminate the Apostles" and "Protect Headquarters," creating a chaotic scene.

"What are you doing? Starting a group fight?"

Cui Ming blew on the steam from the thermos, took a few steps closer, and his gaze fell on the object that had been beaten on the ground. He was also startled when he saw the sextant's true form.

What was that thing? Its whole body was swollen like an inflated purple ball, and its face was completely unrecognizable, with only a bunch of protruding tumors and bluish-purple patches. The bandages were wrapped crookedly around its body and had been stained gray with blood and mud. Its limbs were twisted at bizarre angles and were still wriggling slightly on the ground. It certainly didn't look like a human, but more like some kind of soft alien that had just landed on Earth.

Where did these aliens come from?!

Cui Ming subconsciously took a half step back, his left hand already reaching for the pistol at his waist. His eyes sharpened instantly, and the characteristics of more than a dozen alien races flashed through his mind—the swelling was like being stung by a wasp, but there were also signs of fractures. Could it be some kind of deformed alien?
No, this is a person!

Choi Myung squinted, staring at the tattered fabric of the "alien's" suit and the wrist wearing a cheap watch peeking out from the gap in the bandages. He suddenly realized something, his lips twitched, and he tentatively called out, "...Sexant?"

The "alien" on the ground let out a faint whimper in response.

A sextant?!

Cui Ming's expression shifted from shock to sudden realization, and then from realization to an indescribable sense of amusement. He looked at Sextant's current pig-headed appearance, recalled the Kiras brothers' report, and remembered the old man's stubborn refusal to relinquish command authority. Suddenly, he found the scene before him incredibly pleasing to the eye.

Then let the security personnel continue to beat us up.

Choi Myung cleared his throat, took a sip from his thermos, then waved to the security guards, his tone as calm as if he were ordering dinner for the night: "Oh, not an alien, but the former commander. Since you've already fought halfway, then continue, just don't kill anyone. I still need him alive to sign."

After saying that, he turned and left, not forgetting to remind everyone before he left: "By the way, remember to record it, it's valuable...rehabilitation training data."

The security guards hesitated for a moment, then threw even more punches. Since the acting commander had given the order, the beating was legal and compliant. Sextant groaned in despair on the ground as another kick to his giant face knocked him unconscious. (End of Chapter)
