Chapter 1462

Masaki Keigo: Draft it?!

Recently, Masaki Keigo has been having a lot of bad luck.

This very capable scientist has been having a run of bad luck ever since he encountered Tom Jerry and Spike while excavating the ruins.

That day, he was leading his team in excavating an ancient ruin in the mountains, supposedly the site of an ancient civilization, possibly holding the secrets of the Giants of Light. Masaki Keigo, wearing a white lab coat and a safety helmet, held a detector in his hands, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism.

Then the cave collapsed.

It wasn't a natural collapse; with a deafening "boom," the entire excavation site erupted as if struck by a meteorite, sending dust and debris flying everywhere. Masaki Keigo was thrown three meters away by the blast wave; his white lab coat turned gray, his safety helmet was askew on his head, and his detector was reduced to a broken piece.

He lay on the ground, coughing up ash, and looked up to see three figures slowly emerging from the smoke.

A blue-gray cat licked its paws, looking completely innocent.

A little brown mouse, holding half a peanut, with a mischievous grin on its face.

A huge bulldog, carrying a steel pipe in its mouth, stared at him with eyes as big as copper bells, as if to say, "What are you looking at?"

Masaki Keigo was completely stunned.

These three guys always manage to pull off some incredible feats!

The day after he recovered, the team cleaned up the site again, set up scaffolding, and prepared to continue digging. But they had only dug halfway when the blue-gray cat pulled out a bottle of green liquid from somewhere, poured it on the rock wall, and the rocks started to sizzle and bubble. Then, with a "boom," they collapsed again.

Masaki Keigo was thrown into the air again, this time his helmet was completely gone, and his white coat was reduced to tattered rags.

“That blue cat!” He lay on the ground, his finger trembling as he pointed at Tom. “What did you splash?!”

Tom tilted his head, blinked his big eyes, and let out a confused "?"

That expression seemed to say, "I don't know," "I was just passing by," and "What does this have to do with me?"

Masaki Keigo wanted to curse, but the little brown mouse had already scurried to his feet, patted his boots with its tiny paws, and then pointed to a deeper hole next to it, as if to say, "There's something good over there too, go dig over there."

Masaki Keigo looked in the direction it was pointing, and then—

boom!!!
The third hole collapsed.

The big dog, carrying a steel pipe in its mouth, poked its head out of the smoke and dust, its tail wagging loudly, as if it were asking for credit.

Masaki Keigo slumped to the ground, his eyes vacant, muttering to himself, "What... what the hell is this...?"

The hole I just dug, that damn little mouse threw a firecracker and blew it all up!!!
On the fourth day, Masaki Keigo learned his lesson. He had a cordon set up at the cave entrance and assigned security guards to prevent any animals from approaching.

Then the little mouse crawled out from underground.

He pulled out a red, round thing from somewhere, which looked like a firecracker, but Masaki Keigo's intuition told him that the thing was definitely a hundred times more dangerous than a firecracker.

"Wait! No—"

boom!!!!

The excavation site collapsed for the third time, and this time it was even more violent than the previous two combined. Masaki Keigo was buried in the rubble, with only his head showing. His safety helmet was nowhere to be seen, and his white coat had been completely ruined.

The little mouse stood at the edge of the pit, covering its mouth with its tiny paws, its shoulders trembling as if it were secretly laughing.

What the hell are you guys?!

Masaki Keigo crawled out of the pile of rubble, covered in wounds, his eyes unfocused, and his hand trembling as he pointed at the little mouse.

"you you……"

"Squeak!" The little mouse tilted its head, revealing an innocent expression.

Masaki Keigo wanted to rush forward, but the big dog blocked his way, its eyes as big as copper bells staring at him, a steel pipe in its mouth, making a low "woofing" sound.

"..."

Masaki Keigo took three steps back. He looked back at his team; the researchers, engineers, and security guards were all huddled in a corner, trembling, and no one dared to come forward.

“Dr. Masaki…” an assistant began tremblingly, “How about… how about we dig somewhere else?”

"Change locations?" Masaki Keigo's voice sounded like it was being squeezed out from between his teeth. "This ruin only has one entrance! Where are we going?!"

"But..." The assistant pointed to the three figures playing around—the blue cat was chasing the little mouse, the big dog was chasing the blue cat, and the three of them were running around in the ruins, and wherever they went, the remaining half of the wall collapsed.

Masaki Keigo remained silent.

Looking at the excavation site, now a crater, and then at the probe broken in two in his hand, he suddenly felt that his life—no, his scientific career—was full of absurdity.

“That blue cat…” he murmured to himself, “that mouse…and that big dog…”

What exactly are they?

No one could answer him.

Because in TPC's files, these three guys are categorized as "Cui Ming's pets," with the note "Extremely dangerous, do not provoke."

Masaki Keigo clearly hadn't seen that file.

All he knew was that his plan to excavate the ruins had turned into a plan to clear them away.

Moreover, the cleanup speed can never keep up with the destructive speed of those three guys.

"Dr. Masaki..." the assistant leaned closer, "Should we...should we continue digging?"

Masaki Keigo looked into the distance and saw the blue cat being pinned to the ground by the big dog, while the little mouse sat beside it clapping. The three of them were having a great time, completely ignoring him, the scientist.

He took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly.

"……dig."

"what?"

"Dig in a different direction!" Masaki Keigo tossed his tattered white coat over his shoulder, his eyes gleaming with renewed madness. "I refuse to believe we can't find the secret of the Giant of Light!"

"But those three..."

"Never mind them!" Masaki Keigo strode off in another direction. "Let them do their thing, we'll dig ours! We're minding our own business!"

The assistant watched his retreating figure, then glanced at the three figures rolling around in the ruins, and swallowed hard.

"...unrelated?"

boom!
Another explosion was heard in the distance, and smoke and dust rose again.

The assistant slumped to the ground, his eyes vacant.

"...How could they be unrelated..."

Masaki Keigo wanted to pretend he didn't see it.

He turned away from the three figures rolling in the ruins, his hands gripping the wreckage of the detector tightly, his knuckles white. He told himself, focus, focus, the secret of the Giant of Light lies ahead, I cannot be distracted by these three bastards.

Then he heard a sound.

Click.

Click, click, click.

That was the sound of metal being twisted, dismantled, and gnawed. Masaki Keigo whirled around and saw the blue-gray cat and the little brown mouse chasing each other on his machine. (End of Chapter)
