Chapter 1455
Dishes!
Magnia knew she couldn't drag this out any longer!
Now the only option is to make it gigantic.
It frantically gathered its remaining energy underground, its purple core flickering desperately like a light bulb about to go out. The parasites that had escaped brought their remaining energy into the core, but their numbers were too few, less than one in ten. Magnia could feel her body expanding, her bones stretching, her muscles tearing, but that sense of fullness was nowhere to be found.
Instead, there is an emptiness.
A hollow, malnourished emptiness, like a shriveled grape.
but……
Magnia after this gigantification...
It's clearly a watered-down version.
It emerged from the ground, its body still several tens of meters tall, but compared to its normal state, it looked like a half-finished product. Its skin was wrinkled, like the bark of an old tree that had been drained of moisture, its purple sheen dulled to an almost grayish-white. The parasitic sacs on its shoulders, which should have been full, were now deflated like two empty pockets, swaying in the wind. Its legs were trembling, not from fear, but from genuine weakness, making it unable to even stand steadily.
It's obvious they're malnourished!
It tried to roar, but the sound it emitted was like a leaky bellows, hoarse and weak. It tried to release mist, but only a few wisps of pale purple smoke came out, dissipating before even reaching the ground. It tried to control the parasites, but those little things were either dead or had already fled, leaving no one to respond.
Upon seeing this...
Take out the communicator.
"Bomb them to death!"
Subsequently, EDF and TPC launched a general attack.
The tank formation's cannons simultaneously rose, and shells rained down on Magnia. The creature didn't even flinch; not because it didn't want to, but because its legs were too weak to move. The shells exploded on its wrinkled skin, purple blood splattering like mud. It let out a scream, but the sound was too faint to be drowned out by the tank engines.
The fighter jet swooped down from the clouds, a missile trailing white smoke plunging into its chest. Magnia tried to raise her hand to block it, but her arm drooped halfway up, like a puppet with its strings cut. The missile exploded at its core, and she shuddered, her knees buckled, and she collapsed to her knees.
The beam cannons on the shoulders of the mechs were fully charged, and five beams of light simultaneously blasted into Magnia's head. Magnia's single eye was blasted apart, spraying purple liquid all over the ground. It swayed twice, then collapsed to the ground like a felled tree.
The ground was shaking.
But it was too weak to get up.
With its malnourished body, shattered core, and nervous system half-dead from the firecrackers, Magnia was now subjected to a barrage of attacks, leaving it no room to struggle. It lay sprawled on the ground like a massive, purple, mushy mass of waste, only occasional twitches proving it was still alive.
Spike charged forward, smacked it twice on the head, then turned and grinned at Trevor: "Boss! This thing's even squishier than Black King!"
Tom and Jerry squatted on a rock in the distance, one licking his paws and the other munching on peanuts, as if the earth-shattering explosion and the bombardment in front of them were just everyday pastimes.
Cui Ming gestured for Spike, that dog, to come back.
Spike was standing on Magnia's blown-out head, a piece of purple flesh still dangling from its mouth. Seeing Trevor beckon, it blinked its large, bell-like eyes, reluctantly jumping down. Its massive body landed, kicking up a cloud of purple blood. It shook its head, spitting out the remains, and trotted back to Trevor's side, its tail wagging loudly.
Then, for safety reasons, Choi Myeong began to direct the burning troops into action.
Those were special units specially formed by TPC, dressed in heavy white hazmat suits and carrying huge flamethrowers, like a group of white ghosts crawling out of hell. They didn't need to charge, didn't need to fight, they only needed to do one thing—burn.
Cui Ming was so brutal that he made the surrounding area barren!
The flamethrowers roared, their orange-red tongues of fire engulfing everything like dragons. Houses, streets, trees, grass, even the stones in the village were scorched red-hot. The purple slime remaining on the ground sizzled in the flames, like countless worms screaming before their death. The air was thick with the acrid smell of burning and burning protein, but the incineration troops remained expressionless, advancing step by step, leaving only black ash and scorching rocks in their wake.
The tank formation turned its guns and bombarded the distant forest, flattening all the bushes, tree holes, and rock crevices that might be hiding the parasites. Fighter jets swept low overhead, dropping large amounts of incendiary bombs, turning the forest within a hundred-mile radius into a sea of fire. Mech formations used beam cannons to ignite suspicious targets one by one, even boiling a small stream, sending steam and black smoke soaring into the sky. Of course, the villagers were also taken away for further investigation.
The riot police, burly men, herded the villagers—those who had been knocked unconscious, stunned, or had their hair singed from the fire—into isolation vehicles like sheep. Each person underwent three rounds of full-body scans, blood tests, and neurological examinations to ensure no parasites remained. Even a single suspicious purple spot on the skin would result in immediate secondary isolation, followed by high-pressure water jet washing, ultraviolet irradiation, and chemical soaking.
Although it has an impact on the surrounding natural environment, there's no way around it; these are parasitic enemies, and we have to be careful.
Cui Ming stood on the command vehicle, gazing at the distant burning hell, his face expressionless. His fingers tapped lightly on his holster, the rhythm slow and steady. In his view, burning a hundred miles of forest, burning a village, in exchange for absolute safety was a worthwhile trade. Parasites, if even one remained, could spread like a virus, and the death toll wouldn't be hundreds, but tens or hundreds of thousands.
He would rather be condemned as a tyrant now than regret it in the future when he sees a city full of parasitic corpses.
Spike sat at his feet, watching the sea of fire, his tongue lolling out, panting heavily. Tom and Jerry squatted on the roof of the car, one licking his charred paws, the other clutching half a roasted peanut, their small eyes blinking in the distant firelight.
The burning troops continued their advance, and the flames continued to spread.
Until the surrounding area of a hundred miles was truly barren.
Finally, Cui Ming even had the aircraft formation plow the ground.
Twelve fighter jets, arranged in an arrowhead formation, roared over the burning inferno. The missile pods under their fuselages were empty, but the pilots were clearly not satisfied. They opened their onboard cluster bomb bays and, like scattering seeds, poured all the remaining munitions onto the scorched earth that had become barren.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The ground was blasted layer upon layer, the original black ash was blown into the sky, then fell like snowflakes, only to be blasted back up again. The entire area within a hundred miles was like a frying pan being frantically stirred, with soil, rocks, and metal debris all mixed together, churning, breaking, and vaporizing.
"Instructor..." Daigo sat in the patrol car, looking at the apocalyptic scene outside the window, his voice barely audible, "Isn't this...isn't this a bit too much?"
“Pass?” Cui Ming stood on the roof of the command vehicle, his scarf fluttering in the wind. He held binoculars and observed the repeatedly ravaged land with a blank expression. “The parasite can hide three meters underground, can burrow into rock crevices, and can attach itself to metal debris. Burning it once is not enough; it needs to be blown up three times to be safe.”
“But…” Horii rubbed his eyes, which were red from the smoke, “the ground has sunk two meters because of the blasting…”
"Then blast it to five meters." Cui Ming put down his binoculars and said into the communicator, "Second team, continue."
"Yes!!!"
A second wave of fighter jets emerged from the clouds, this time flying at extremely low altitudes, their wings almost scraping the scorched earth. Instead of dropping bombs, they activated their onboard beam cannons, sweeping the ground in a grid pattern, like drawing with a laser pointer. The blue-white beams crisscrossed the ground, carving countless bottomless trenches, the soil within which was melted by the intense heat into shimmering, glassy crystals.
The riot police stood outside the blockade, exchanging bewildered glances. The Russian man touched his stun gun, then looked at the land plundered like the surface of the moon, and swallowed hard.
"Comrades..." he said in heavily accented Japanese, "Let's... stay away from this guy in the future..."
"Agreed." The other burly men nodded in unison.
Spike lay on the ground, his front paws covering his ears, his large, bell-like eyes staring at the iron birds flying overhead, muttering, "Boss... this is incredible... I'll never pee here again..."
Tom and Jerry crouched on the roof of an armored vehicle in the distance. Tom's ears were pressed against his head by the sound of the explosion, while Jerry covered his chest with his little paws, looking like he was about to have a heart attack.
Cui Ming looked at the land that had been thoroughly plowed and finally nodded.
"Okay."
He jumped off the command vehicle, put the illuminator back into his waistband, and turned to walk back to the vehicle.
"That's a wrap." (End of Chapter)
