Chapter 10

Red Items

"It's out! It's out!"

"It's Tiger Girl! Tiger Girl is out!"

"My God, this is so difficult!"

Tiger Girl was enveloped in darkness, and then a blinding white light pierced through her tightly closed eyelids.

The sound of gunfire whistling past my ears was like something sinking to the bottom of the water and now surfacing again.

The helicopter hovered overhead, its swirling air currents blowing against her already disheveled hair.

She shielded her eyes from the spotlight with her hand to barely open them and hear the cheers of the crowd around her.

"I successfully evacuated?" Tiger Girl muttered to herself, looking around. All she saw were police tape separating the crowd and government officials.

A man in a suit jogged up to her. "Ms. Hu Linlin, congratulations on your successful evacuation. Please come over here to rest."

"Where are the others? Li Hao, Boris?"

"Mr. Boris's evacuation failed. He exited the portal a little earlier than you and has now been picked up by their club."

"Mr. Li Hao has not come out yet."

"Li Hao hasn't come out yet?" Tiger Girl asked in surprise. Li Hao had already been shot before she left, so why hadn't he come out yet? "Is Li Hao streaming from his first-person perspective? How is he?"

"His live stream lost signal, it's probably due to a problem with the equipment. Ms. Hu, let's go to the rest room first."

"Hmm..." Tiger Girl nodded, her right hand clenched tightly. The hard object pressed against her palm, bringing her back to reality. Warm blood still lingered on it, seeping from between her fingers.

The car took Tiger Girl to the lounge of a nearby club.

In order to obtain intelligence and benefits as soon as possible, each large club has established club branches around the world's portals, so that the club's players and operators can go into battle at any time.

Not long after entering the lounge, the club's manager entered with two staff members: "Hu Linlin, well done, thank you for your hard work."

"It's all my duty, Steward Wang."

The middle-aged man, referred to as Steward Wang, nodded, making no attempt to hide his satisfaction.

"Of the six exploration operators today, only you successfully evacuated. You've truly made the Phoenix Cry Club proud!"

The man then waved his hand, and two staff members who received the signal stepped forward and took the equipment and supplies that Tiger Girl had brought out from her hands.

The club's rules are like this: all supplies brought out by operators belong to the club, and the club will calculate the price before giving the operators compensation and rewards.

The two staff members put the items into a small cart and left the break room.

Meanwhile, Manager Wang's gaze remained fixed on Tiger Girl's tightly clenched right hand. He had been watching the live stream the whole time, so he naturally knew that Li Hao had saved Tiger Girl and that the red supplies Li Hao had provided, including the quantum storage, were in Tiger Girl's hands, but he remained silent.

"Supervisor, there's something I'd like to discuss with you..."

"Oh?" Steward Wang feigned doubt. "Please speak."

"This..." Tiger Girl seemed to have gone through a mental struggle before extending her right hand. Her palm slowly opened, revealing a silver USB drive stained with blood lying quietly in her hand.

When Steward Wang saw this, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Manager, this is a red item, quantum storage. Li Hao found it. During the evacuation, he took a bullet for me to save me and gave me this..."

Tiger Girl spoke softly, thankfully the lounge was quiet, "Could this be returned to Li Hao...?"

At this point, Tiger Girl suddenly looked up into Steward Wang's eyes and raised her voice, "Steward, you know, getting a red card is very important for ordinary operators like us! He got it, I don't want..."

The further she spoke, the softer her voice became, until finally Tiger Girl couldn't continue.

"Tiger Girl, did you know that Li Hao's Dragon Soaring Club already has this red item called Quantum Storage, while we don't? Our club also needs the technology it contains."

Manager Wang's tone remained calm, even possessing a gentle quality reminiscent of coaxing a child.

"But for an individual... this could be something that changes their entire life."

Looking at Manager Wang's calm expression, she realized that her idea was actually a bit unrealistic, so she pressed the USB drive heavily into Manager Wang's hand.

"It's alright. The organization will fully consider the thoughts of each of your operatives. We can consider giving Comrade Li Hao some financial compensation."

Tiger Girl knew this was the best possible outcome. "Thank you, Steward."

Manager Wang smiled slightly and said, "Alright, you should get some rest." Then he turned and left the lounge.

……

"Only 5 minutes left, and Li Hao and that Japanese guy still haven't come out?"

"Li Hao's live stream connection has dropped. The Japanese guy has been moving silently the whole time, and you can't see anything. It's all dark."

Based on the energy fluctuations of the portal, official experts have been able to accurately predict when the portal will close, and the technology behind this comes from Said's pocket watch, a red item.

It's worth mentioning that the technology that can transmit images and signals from dangerous areas to the outside world comes from the red object camera.

"Oh my god, if they don't come out soon, they might never come back!"

"Who says otherwise! You can revive if you get killed in a danger zone, but if you get lost after the time limit, you'll never get back!"

As time ticked by, the discussion in the live stream grew increasingly tense. Of the six live stream feeds, only the Japanese person remained.

The dim light barely showed that he was in a corridor and made almost no sound.

Until... a clicking sound came from the Japanese person's live stream, and you could even hear his heavy, rapid breathing in the stream.

Immediately afterwards, the scenery on both sides of the screen receded rapidly, and as he smashed open an iron gate with both hands, light instantly entered the live broadcast.

A smoke grenade exploded from the bottom of the screen. "Damn it! The extraction point is here? I've been wandering around this godforsaken place for ages, thinking I was stuck here forever!"

A sharp, piercing noise rang out, followed by...

boom!

At this point, all six first-person perspective live streams ended, leaving only countless comments floating on the black screen.

"Have the Japanese found an evacuation point?"

"Was that a gunshot?"

"That sounds like a gunshot! What happened? Did he commit suicide?"

"Suicide is fine too, it's better than getting lost!"

In the footage captured by the reporter on site, Li Hao suddenly appeared in front of the portal, completely stripped of his equipment, with only a yellowish-brown cube in his right hand.

Zoom in and zoom in again...

"What the hell is that?"

"Main battle tank! It's a main battle tank model!"

"Oh my god! How come the main battle tank is in his hands?! Did he not come out in time to get the main battle tank model?"

Something unexpected happened.

Despite being severely injured and lying on the ground, Li Hao managed to escape successfully, carrying with him the high-level red item that had attracted everyone's attention!

Even the Dragon Club hadn't expected this. They were in a panic, worried that Li Hao would get lost and not be able to come back. Now, not only has he returned, but he's also bringing that big red thing with him!

Immediately, all the members of the Dragon Club present rushed forward, surrounded Li Hao, and escorted him to the car.

The car started, but instead of taking him back to the club, it drove directly to the Dragon Kingdom's official headquarters.
