Chapter 16
You've Fallen into a Trap
"How is it?"
"Everything is normal."
"Everything is normal."
"Put on your gear immediately!"
The three immediately put down their backpacks and took off their Level 4 protective suits.
John pulled out a level 5 set of armor and put it on. After he was fully dressed, John, as the team leader, looked around.
"Luckily, I've seen this random spawn point before. It's the same spawn point from the Dragon Kingdom last time. Go in from this side!"
"Remember our mission! Restore the dignity the Bald Eagle has lost! Kick that warden and all those other teams to death!"
"Our equipment completely overwhelms them! Let's head straight to the power control building in the administrative district and wipe out all the NPCs!"
"yes!"
The three members of the Bald Eagle Association were equipped with level 5 gear, making them look like heavily armored units. Their footsteps sounded heavier as they ran. After entering the prison, they descended from the zipline to the elevator shaft platform.
Just then they heard voices from below, "Boss? It sounds like someone else has gone down!"
John listened intently and confirmed there were footsteps; the group immediately looked down from the railing.
John said, "They're three Japanese from the Samurai Sword Club. Ignore them! A bunch of greedy pigs, all they care about is that big insurance policy. They already know there are snipers, but they can handle it. Let's go."
The three samurai did indeed think so. Although the headquarters' order was to find the idiot who had gone missing earlier, this was a safety precaution.
This map has so many loot. If I manage to get a red item, I'll be set for life. I know there are snipers anyway, so I'm not afraid!
"Come on, let's go together!"
The three of them swam to the location of the safe and stood on the glass room.
"We've watched the live broadcast recordings many times, do you still remember the trajectory?"
The other two nodded in unison.
"I'll pretend to take off the safety in a bit. You guys hold the 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions, and I'll deal with the sniper at the 12 o'clock position."
"Remember! The moment I release the safety, a sniper will likely appear. Stay alert!"
The three of them looked at each other again and nodded.
The two men immediately raised their guns and aimed them in the direction corresponding to the top of the elevator shaft.
The captain went into the water and found an angle that could partially shield his body before starting to disengage the safety device.
The image of the American explorer being shot to pieces by three bullets was still vivid in his mind, but the bright red color excited him even more!
"Beep beep beep beep..." The safety alarm started to sound, and the two men holding the position held their breath and aimed, ready to snipe at any moment.
But the sniper didn't appear, and there was no gunfire. The captain surfaced. "What's going on?"
"The sniper didn't show up..."
"It didn't appear?" The katana captain looked around at the sky. How could that be?
He stroked his chin, unable to comprehend where the mistake had occurred...
"Hmm? Did you hear that sound?"
His teammate's words pulled him back to reality. Indeed, there was a strange sound coming from the quiet elevator shaft.
Gradually, the sound grew louder and became more rhythmic.
"Clang, clang, clang... Clang, clang, clang..."
What the heck? Music? The three listened to the music that was getting closer and louder, trying to find the direction of the music by following the sound.
The three of them then looked at the stairwell to the side.
There it is! What is it?
The three men immediately took tactical stances, held their breath, and firmly blocked the doorway with three lines of fire.
"Clang, clang, clang... Clang, clang, clang..."
The sound grew louder and louder!
"They're here!"
The moment a dark figure appeared at the top of the stairs, three M4A1 assault rifles spewed muzzle flashes and unleashed a torrent of bullets!
The deafening gunfire couldn't drown out the accelerating music; each drumbeat increased their pressure!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! The bullets struck the dark figure, producing a crisp metallic clang.
A shield bearer slowly appeared at the doorway, shield in hand.
"?" The katana captain's expression was priceless, a mixture of confusion and the humiliation of being tricked!
It took so much ammo to kill one shield soldier! And he's still not dead!
"You're out of options! Don't waste your bullets!" the shieldbearer suddenly yelled. "Someone's firing! Attention everyone! Prepare for battle!"
A series of emotionless human-machine voices enraged the three Japanese men!
"Damn it!" the captain roared, immediately preparing to rush over and kill him with a knife!
I was really scared by the live stream; it couldn't be as scary as they made it out to be! What's the difference between this and the Hafk minions on other maps?
I was terrified by a mere soldier! Thank goodness I wasn't streaming it, or I would have lost all face! Damn it!
The captain put away his rifle, drew the dagger from his waist, and glared at them fiercely.
Wait... why would a soldier play this kind of music?
The drumbeats stopped, and a strange melody rose, making people even more uneasy.
The shield bearer's perspective shifts upwards, and he slowly raises his shield.
What?!
"Bang bang bang bang!"
Just as he was wondering, the sound of bullets whistling through the air whistled past his ears.
The heads of the two teammates on either side exploded into a bloody mist at the same time, and their bodies were thrown back two meters by the impact and fell into the water.
His pupils contracted sharply as he saw, in astonishment, that through the gap in the shields raised by the shield bearers, the warden was lying face down on the ground, holding a rifle.
He could see Ash's muzzle directly, and even the rifling inside the barrel.
A red laser was fixed on his forehead, the background music grew increasingly rousing, and large beads of sweat slid down his brow.
He was still clutching the dagger in his hand, and he was now unable to fight back!
"You've fallen into a trap!"
"Bang!"
The third corpse flew backward and fell into the pool. Then the shieldman disappeared at the top of the stairs, and the music stopped as well, as if nothing had happened.
……
"I think I messed up my lines just now." Han Che said as he loaded the magazine with bullets.
He turned to look at Shi Ding walking behind him, "How was it, exciting?"
"Uh...that was exciting!" Shi Ding was clearly still not quite in the mood. Was it really that easy?
Three player operators were killed so easily? He knew this warden was powerful, but he didn't expect it to be so easy.
"Old Shi, you still need to work on your lines!" Han Che punched Shi Ding on the shoulder. "You delivered those lines without any emotion!"
"Huh?" Shi Ding was wearing black goggles and a mask, but his surprise was still evident.
This line was taught to him by Han Che during training a couple of days ago. He was told to shout it like that when the time came. Shi Ding didn't know what the point was. Like a complete idiot, he still carried it out.
"Yes, Your Excellency Warden!"
"Hmm, not bad!" Han Che said with satisfaction.
……
The trio of samurai swords were ejected from the spatial bubble of the portal and fell to the ground.
"My God, look! What's that! Someone's already out!" The reporter inside the helicopter frantically zoomed in.
"Those three with katanas! Oh my god, what happened?! Less than five minutes in and they're out!"
Since there was no first-person perspective live stream, the chat was flooded with all sorts of guesses and speculations.
"Got kicked to death in a shootout with another squad, huh? So fast, just a random stray on the street!"
"I'm the gluttonous pig! I got taken down by the sniper, one shot each, a triple kill!"
"What kind of useless trash does Japan have? They're so weak, yet they call themselves one of the top six clubs? Shame on them!"
The Samurai Sword Club didn't expect it to end so quickly. All kinds of weapons, ammunition, and armor, along with millions of supplies, were wasted in just a few minutes!
Not to mention asking them to find the lost explorers!
They immediately sent people to take these three disgraceful things away.
