Chapter 426
Debunking Rumors
"Here you can shed your disguises. I know your true identities, transmigrators!"
After Jacob finished speaking, his gaze swept over the people on both sides of the table who were stunned by his words, and his smile deepened.
His fingers rested on the table, tapping lightly with his fingertips, as if giving the audience time to process the information.
The meeting room was silent for a few seconds, during which everyone remained still in their respective positions.
After confirming that his words had resonated with everyone, Jacob slowly leaned back in his chair.
"This was my oversight. This is the first time you've all been here, so there may be many misunderstandings. I'll now answer them one by one."
"Then I'll start by going along with what Said just said." Jacob's gaze shifted slightly toward Said.
"First of all, based on your subjective experience, you all believe that Asara and our Hafk group are hostile forces. Although I don't know where this idea comes from, it is clearly wrong."
"The people of Asara and the Hafk group are friendly partners. There is no hostile relationship between them, nor is there any oppression of the people of Asara by the Hafk group."
"You might not believe it, but it's true. In fact, many of our headquarters' Hafk soldiers are Asara people."
"This is also why I invited everyone from Asara to attend this meeting today." Jacob observed everyone's reactions.
"Damn it, why didn't you say so earlier?" No sooner had Jacob finished speaking than Reese slammed his hand on the table and exclaimed, "I even sparred with them a few times before we came!"
"How many moves did they exchange?" Anderson asked in surprise, a bad feeling creeping over him.
Reis leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. "You Hafk suddenly notified us Asara people that you wanted us to come here for a meeting. I thought it was some kind of trap, and I wasn't planning on coming."
"Then today a helicopter came and insisted on taking me here, so I took action." He said it casually, but Anderson's face had already turned ugly.
Anderson's expression froze. He glanced at Jacob, and after receiving an affirmative look, he immediately turned to the side, picked up a small communication device from the table, put it to his mouth, and whispered a few words.
When Anderson put down the phone, his face was already a little pale. He turned around and whispered to Jacob, "Chairman, it took three teams of people to bring him here."
"Tch, three teams aren't even a match for me. If they hadn't said Saeed was here too, I would have beaten all thirty teams back."
As he spoke, he nudged Said beside him with his shoulder, tilted his head in Said's direction, and raised an eyebrow at Said, "How about that, buddy, pretty loyal, right?"
Saeed ignored him.
Jacob waited until Anderson and Reis finished their interlude before speaking again, "As I said, you are all transmigrators from another world. Logically speaking, you shouldn't have any feelings for Asara and Hafk, nor should you hate each other."
"However, the truth is quite the opposite. You have some kind of stereotype that we are adversaries with Asara, and I hope you will not be influenced by this."
After Jacob finished speaking, he paused, leaned forward, rested his arm on the table, and continued, "Because of your arrival, you may all feel somewhat uneasy, causing you to remain vigilant and see everyone as an enemy, which is completely understandable."
"But you guys are actually fine, and you don't need to be too wary of the other map bosses. You should be friends and comrades-in-arms!"
"To avoid unnecessary conflicts and misunderstandings among you, map leaders cannot harm each other unless someone from the player world enters the map. You will be able to verify this for yourselves in a moment."
Hearing this, Han Che's doubts were resolved. He and Raven couldn't fight because the Tide Prison wasn't open. He hadn't expected that this was the reason.
Han Che realized what Jacob was talking about. He had witnessed what Jacob was saying before. Before the Tide Prison was opened, he and Raven lived under the same roof but could not really fight each other.
No matter how he attacked the raven, he couldn't cause any real damage.
He initially thought it was some kind of protection mechanism of the system, but he never imagined that the reason behind it was like this.
As Han Che was thinking about these things, Said, who was sitting across the table, suddenly moved.
His movements were completely unexpected. Said suddenly pulled out a crossbow from under his cloak, aimed the bolt at Reis sitting next to him, and pulled the trigger.
The speed was so fast that no one had time to react.
However, the crossbow's spring was stuck as if something was blocking it, and it didn't fire.
Saeed pressed the trigger again, but the crossbow still didn't react.
"Holy crap! What are you doing, Sai?" Reese exclaimed a beat late, jumping up from his chair.
Said lowered his arms and examined the crossbow's structure, his fingers tracing the springs. "Looks like it's real."
Jacob watched this scene unfold with a smile on his face.
Jacob watched this scene unfold without intervening. He reached out and pressed down, saying, "Alright, everyone, please be quiet. As the chairman of the Hafk Group, I assure you that what I said is absolutely true. You can verify it yourselves later, including the fact that there is no conflict between the people of Asara and our Hafk Group."
"You can verify this for yourselves in a moment. We have many people from Asara working here, and they are all doing very well."
Although it didn't feel real, Han Che sensed that the truth was probably just as Jacob had said: there was no conflict between Asara and Hafk in this world.
From Hafk's perspective, there was indeed no need to fabricate such a claim, because it was too easy to verify. A little investigation would reveal its truth or falsehood, and Hafk had no reason to lie about such a basic matter, as it would bring him absolutely no benefit.
"I bet the question everyone's most, most, most concerned about next is about the system," Jacob said with a smile.
This sentence caused the crowd, who were still in shock, to widen their eyes once again.
"Everyone here uses the system; there's no need to hide it from us."
"I know that the vast majority of people are afraid to reveal things like the system to anyone, considering it a huge secret."
"But actually, everyone, just relax. It's not a secret. Every map leader has a system."
"This technology belongs to our Hafk Group!"
