Chapter 18
Royal Guard
The intense pain in his legs caused John to lose his balance and collapse to his knees.
He unleashed all the bullets from his M4 at the prison guards behind him who had run out of ammunition, leaving none for himself.
The sound of two people's footsteps came from the corridor outside the door.
John gritted his teeth and propped himself up on his elbows, trying to pull out a spare magazine from the magazine pouch.
The gun was pointed directly at the door, ready to fire and kill any prison guards who rushed in.
"John?" It was Hank's voice, very low.
John lowered the gun. "Inside!" his voice was hoarse.
The iron gate was pushed open, and Hank and his companion entered. Their legs were also bandaged, indicating that they had been treated, but their walking was still noticeably affected.
When Hank saw the prison guards riddled with bullets on the ground and John's injured leg, he immediately understood everything.
John was also ambushed and had his pedicure done!
With all three members of the Bald Eagle Squad now missing legs, their mission was severely hampered.
But Hank and his companion both breathed a sigh of relief, and were even a little overjoyed!
Their injuries might be considered a liability, but now that the captain is injured for the same reason, they can't be blamed!
Hank immediately knelt down to examine John's legs.
"Comminuted fracture of the tibia, knee dislocation, three bullets penetrated the bone, two bullets remain lodged..."
"Are you reciting the menu over there?" John yelled, hearing Hank's slightly excited tone. "Get the hell out of here and treat me! It hurts like hell!"
Hank realized he had lost his composure. "Alright, alright, I'll treat you right away!" he said, taking things out of his medical kit.
"Was the prison guard hiding in the room too?"
"He hit me when I pulled the lever, zipping up from the zipline!" John said viciously, pointing to the zipline on one side.
Hank began treating the wound: cleaning, stopping the bleeding, and bandaging. His knee was immobilized with a splint; his technique was professional.
John watched Hank's skillful movements and serious expression, but he felt that the guy was secretly laughing!
But it's not easy to lash out!
"What do we do now, Captain? Should we shut down the power again?" Hank asked.
John's eyes were practically blazing with malice: "La! Come with me to settle accounts with the warden!"
"I'll do it." Hank stood up. "Help me set up the gun!" He checked the control room and then pulled the power switch.
"Someone has activated the power switch for the pipeline gate; the escape window is open. Confirm the location of the rendezvous point!"
John struggled to his feet. After a simple surgery to stop the bleeding, his legs regained some support, and with the help of strong painkillers, he was able to walk slowly.
However, with each step, a dull ache would emanate from the broken bone, which was difficult to suppress even with painkillers.
The three left the control room and re-entered the corridor.
Hank was in the lead, and John was in the middle.
The evacuation point for Cell Block 3 is about 200 meters away from here, requiring passage through two corridors and a central hall.
The corridor was still deserted; it was too quiet.
Having personally experienced a broken leg, John is now even more furious at this silence!
"Everyone, hide!" The words were practically squeezed out from between his teeth.
The three of them quickly made their way through the corridor to the area where the prison cells were located.
However, this time they went around to the second floor, and in the Explorer's live stream, the warden appeared from the back of the first floor.
A guard of honor consisting of two shield bearers led the charge, with the warden hidden behind the shield.
This makes it extremely difficult to defeat him head-on!
But this place is different; grenades and incendiary bombs can be dumped down from the second floor!
Even in a gunfight, the second floor offers a superior shooting position. As the saying goes, "High ground, low ground, high ground!"
They quickly reached the pre-planned location, and looking down, sure enough! Two shield bearers were hiding behind the corner!
Even though they were blocked by the corner, they were certain that there was another figure behind the shieldbearer!
Looking further out, there were also shadowy figures lurking around the corners of several other cells!
"Just as I thought!" John's eyes lit up at the sight! "They've all hidden themselves! The warden is definitely behind that shieldman!"
"You come with me and throw gadgets at the shield bearers. Blow them all up, especially that warden! I'm going to tear him to pieces!" John patted Hank on the shoulder.
Then, pointing to another person, he said, "You hold the gun for me! When the grenade goes off, shoot those prison guards hiding in the shadows and kill them!"
Once the tactical deployment was complete, John Hank immediately took a grenade from his ammunition rack.
The two exchanged a glance, pulled out the pins, and silently counted down in their minds. "Give me a quick-fire grenade and blow these bastards to bits!"
5, 4, 3...
"Throw!"
Two grenades were thrown towards the corner where the shield soldier was hiding, and then immediately another grenade was taken out and thrown directly without being cooled down!
"Boom! Boom!"
Two grenades exploded behind the corner, and a few seconds later, two more exploded!
The enormous echo instantly reverberated throughout the cell. The prison guards peeked out from around the corner, only to be immediately suppressed by gunfire from the second floor.
Gunshots rang out from every corner of the cell, bullets hitting the bars in front of John and sparks flying.
He originally wanted to throw two more, but the firepower suppressed him, and he couldn't show himself for a while.
"Did they blow up?" Hank asked.
"I don't know! If you get hit by four grenades, you'll be severely injured even if you don't die! And it's a high-ground attack, so don't be afraid!" John said viciously.
A metallic scraping sound came from downstairs. Hank secretly glanced over, "What!"
"What's wrong?" John noticed the change in Hank's expression and immediately looked downstairs as well.
The two shield bearers were not dead, and a shadow was following behind them, but it was blocked and could not be seen clearly.
"These four lightning strikes didn't even kill the shield soldiers?" John's expression was frantic. He immediately pulled out an incendiary bomb, stood up, and threw it downstairs despite the prison guards' suppressive fire.
In the two seconds it took to stand up, my armor was hit by several shots, making a series of loud bangs.
However, not a single bullet penetrated his armor.
"I'll burn you to death!" John turned to look and saw a smoke grenade explode at the shieldman's feet, completely covering the incendiary bomb!
"It can put out fires?" John was so anxious that he tried to stand up and fire, but Hank tackled him to the ground.
"Captain! Have you forgotten? The warden's most common tactic is to use smoke grenades to kill people! We can't show our faces!"
Just as John and his two companions were figuring out how to kill the warden...
The iron door at the end of the prison corridor suddenly opened without warning.
With a creak, it immediately attracted the attention of the three people.
"What? A prison guard has come up here?" John said.
But when the iron gate opened, no one was in sight.
Then a burst of loud music rang out from the direction of the iron gate!
"Face the judgment of Geherus!"
The sound echoed in the empty corridor.
"What?" The doorway was still empty, but John and his two companions had already set up three gun lines to block the entrance.
"I am the judgment!"
The sound grew closer, and the drumbeats of the music grew louder!
"I am the punishment!"
John swallowed hard, his hand gripping the gun trembling. "Who! Who's playing tricks on me?"
John looked at the smoke billowing from the first floor, and at the guards and the warden downstairs. What was that sound?
"I am the killing!"
"I am salvation..."
The music was reaching its climax!
A figure leaped out from behind the iron gate, almost lunging sideways, with a gun pointed directly at the three men!
The three men immediately opened fire, but!
Geheros's super jump was launched from above the three players' pre-aimed points!
"Bang bang bang!" Ash12's distinctive, muffled gunshots echoed through the corridor.
All three were shot and fell to the ground!
