Chapter 226
Are they really friends?
Han Che raised the Tenglong rifle in his hand and pointed the muzzle into the room.
He moved quickly. Xiao Bai and Lao Zhou were startled by Han Che's sudden action and instinctively raised their weapons, while casting questioning glances at him.
What's wrong? What happened? Why did you suddenly raise your gun?
"Someone's there," Han Che said in a low voice.
Xiao Bai and Lao Zhou exchanged a glance, both seeing confusion in each other's eyes.
All three were wearing Western-grade hearing aids. Xiao Bai and Lao Zhou didn't hear any information at all, but they still cooperated with Han Che's actions.
Han Che locked onto the source of the murderous intent in the room through the wall, and it took him several seconds to realize that it was likely the Dragon Club team. They had heard the commotion of the three of them and thought they were enemies, so they hid.
Han Che spoke up, "Are you from the Dragon Club? We're from the 78 Club." He hoped that revealing his identity would dispel the murderous intent of the people inside.
On the other side of the wall, inside the room.
Cai Chengfu squatted behind the wall by the door, tightly gripping a grenade with the pin already pulled, his fingers pinching the safety flap.
The moment he loosened his grip, the grenade's firing pin would spring back, the striking pin would strike the percussion cap, igniting the delayed fuse, and it would explode a few seconds later. He pressed his ear against the wall, listening to the sounds outside.
A strange feeling sent chills down his spine. Although he didn't have the ability to sense killing intent like a mule, the ominous feeling told him that if he rashly showed himself, he might really be killed instantly.
When Han Che's voice came, he realized that the person was not the warden, but a player from another club.
Unexpectedly, the overwhelming presence emanating from a player from an ordinary small club was enough to challenge the map boss.
"Club 78!" Li Hao exclaimed in a low voice, unable to hide his surprise.
"What's wrong? Do you know him?" Cai Chengfu asked in a low voice.
"The owner of that club is my... friend, and she's in here too, so maybe we can work together," Li Hao said.
"Are those really your friends outside? I have a bad feeling about this..." Cai Chengfu frowned slightly, glancing at the door beside him. "Are you sure they won't shoot if we go out?"
"Really! Definitely!" Li Hao nodded. "After all, I'm a familiar face at their club. How about I peek in first and see what's going on?" Li Hao took a step back to reassure Cai Chengfu.
He didn't believe that Xiaobai would really kill him here as she claimed, treating him as a competitor.
Cai Chengfu nodded slightly. "Let's communicate first and make things clear to them."
Li Hao pressed himself against the wall. "Xiao Bai! Is that you? It's me! Li Hao! These are all our people!"
Hearing the voice from behind the wall, Xiao Bai was pleasantly surprised. After searching for a while, she realized it was right beside her and immediately replied, "It's me! I came to find you to work together."
Once the two sides started talking, the tense atmosphere immediately eased considerably, except for Han Che and Cai Chengfu, who maintained serious expressions and vigilant movements.
Xiao Bai noticed Han Che's unusual behavior and patted him on the shoulder, "They're from the Dragon Club, they're on our side, we've found them."
But Han Che still held his rifle and stared intently at the scope, because in his field of vision, the killing intent on the other side of the wall was not diminished at all.
Li Hao breathed a sigh of relief when he heard Xiao Bai reply. Just as he was about to peek out, Cai Chengfu grabbed him and pressed him down.
He looked at Cai Chengfu with a puzzled expression, only to see that he was still pressed tightly against the wall, gripping a grenade tightly in his hand.
In Cai Chengfu's perception, the ominous feeling that the outside world might blow his head off had not disappeared at all.
For a moment, the atmosphere, which had just eased, fell silent again and became subtly tense.
Just as the group was at a loss, Xiaobai, observing Han Che's expression, seemed to understand his thoughts. She gently patted Han Che's back and called into the room, "Li Hao, tell Cai Chengfu to put away the grenades he's holding."
Cai Chengfu was also taken aback when he heard this. How did she know that I had prepared grenades?
Then Xiaobai gently pressed down on the barrel of the rifle in Han Che's hand from the side and said softly, "It's okay."
The two men in the standoff immediately sensed a significant decrease in the other's murderous intent.
Xiao Bai then walked towards the door first, followed by Li Hao peeking out from behind cover.
Seeing that the other party was indeed not bluffing, Han Che slowly relaxed his hand, which was ready to raise the gun again at any moment.
Inside the room, Cai Chengfu slowly inserted the pulled pin back into the grenade.
The six men left the bunker and stood face to face.
Han Che then took a closer look at this "Thor" who was said to have a 100% evacuation rate. It seemed that the killing intent was flowing from this person, and even now he could still feel the other party's wariness towards him.
On the surface, Cai Chengfu didn't seem to show much emotion. He turned slightly to face Han Che without making eye contact, but he was silently assessing Han Che's strength in his heart.
"Is this the same Han Che who's been making headlines these past few days, the one who killed Said? Was that feeling really coming from him?" Cai Chengfu thought to himself.
"You haven't encountered a single prison guard?" Li Hao's voice broke the silence. He was exchanging information with Xiao Bai about their time in prison, and his tone was one of surprise.
"Yes." Xiaobai nodded. "What's going on here? Why were you fighting so fiercely just now?" Her gaze quickly swept over Cai Chengfu.
"We encountered two prison guards, and Brother Cai took care of them, which is why there were a few explosions," Li Hao explained.
At this moment, Qi Shao, who was huddled to the side, suddenly interjected, "I threw one of the grenades!" He said with a smug smile on his face.
Xiaobai gave a half-smile in response, after all, she was Li Hao's client, and she couldn't very well refuse him directly.
"What are you going to do next? Are you going to the prison area with us? We need to get the key to the room over there."
Xiao Bai asked, wondering if Cai Chengfu, with his boss by his side, would be willing to take the risk of going out of his way and agree to act with them.
But then Qi Shao chimed in, "I just found a keycard too!"
Now Xiao Bai was intrigued, and Han Che also glanced sideways at Qi Shao, "Oh? What key card?"
Cai Chengfu answered for Qi Shao. "It's in the warden's collection room. Qi Shao found it in that room just now." Qi Shao nodded proudly.
Han Che was a bit dumbfounded. This was bad; they had gotten into trouble in his own home.
"It's convenient to go from here to the prison area and then to the warden's core area. Let's go together; it'll be safer," Cai Chengfu suggested.
Xiao Bai knew very well that Cai Chengfu would agree to act together because of this key card.
Cai Chengfu originally intended to proceed with the conservative plan, but the appearance of this key card was too attractive.
