Chapter 21
Crouching at the Evacuation Point
"Sukabul! The prison guards along the way were like lunatics, all lying prone on landmines!"
Three members of the Xiong Guo Katyusha Club searched all the way from the prisoner activity area.
Hearing the sounds of the power being cut off and a firefight taking place, they made their way here.
"Thank goodness for the riot shields, otherwise we would have been tortured to death by having our feet trimmed!" complained the operator at the back of the line.
We didn't encounter too many troubles along the way, except for one encounter with a team from the Dragon Kingdom.
They weren't exactly close, and they were heading in different directions, so they exchanged greetings and went their separate ways.
It was near the prison area, and just around the corner, a prison guard opened fire, breaking the leg of the man at the back of the line.
They were ambushed at several corners in a row, forcing them to use the Bear Kingdom's secret weapon.
A tactical item, the blast shield, researched using main battle tank model technology!
That's how they avoided being ambushed and having their legs broken along the way.
"We've finally reached the evacuation point, let's get out of here already!" The first man in line with the shield was getting impatient.
This big shield is blast-proof and bulletproof, giving you a great sense of security.
But it's too heavy! Running for a short while leaves him with little energy, and the enormous weight makes it very difficult for him to recover his strength, even when he's just walking slowly.
"I don't see the line pulling the gate? I don't see the warden either?" the captain in the middle of the line said.
"We just heard gunshots and grenades over here!"
The operator at the back of the line looked around but saw no one.
He then patted the captain on the shoulder, "Maybe the team that pulled the plug has already clashed with the warden!"
The captain thought for a moment; carrying a shield would make it inconvenient to search for people.
"Forget about them, the evacuation point is just ahead! Let's get into the evacuation area and wait for evacuation!"
Hearing the captain say this, the three of them breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the cell with slightly lighter steps.
"Hey! Go in with your riot shields on to cover your positions, or you'll get ambushed!" the captain shouted immediately.
"good!"
……
what?
No, buddy?
Why are there shield dogs?
As the dump truck slowly "drove" into the prison evacuation point, it was Han Che's turn to panic!
And why would they come in to queue up after overhearing their conversation outside the door?
If you're going to evacuate, just evacuate. Why bother with setting up checkpoints?
Are there still people camping out at evacuation points?
Han Che cursed inwardly!
This is bad... There's a full squad of shield dogs in front, and the waterway entrance behind us is a portal, so the system won't let us through!
All the bodyguards and prison guards were dismissed!
What should we do?
Han Che was sweating profusely. Evacuation point, crouch at the evacuation point... That's it, crouch at the evacuation point!
Han Che suddenly remembered a spot he had camped at the evacuation point in his previous life!
Before the three members of the Shield Dog team came in, Han Che quickly ran from the innermost cubicle to the middle cubicle at the evacuation point.
There was an iron shelf against the wall opposite the cubicle, with miscellaneous items on it and a tattered cloth covering it.
Han Che climbed onto the box in the corner, ran and jumped towards the iron frame, and climbed to the very top of the iron frame.
It lay on the edge of the metal frame, twisting back and forth.
Find a secluded spot, drop down to the second level of the metal frame, and climb inside.
This place is completely blocked by rags and boxes of odds and ends!
Just after he hid, the loud metallic scraping sound of the shield rang out beside him.
Two Xiong Kingdom operators, each holding a gun in their right hand and with their left hand resting on the shoulder of the operator in front, drove in through the entrance.
Han Che looked around and realized that in such a confined space, he was not confident that he could take down three enemies in an instant, especially since there was also a shield dog that could absorb a lot of firepower.
His heart was pounding, and he kept silently chanting in his mind.
"Don't get caught! Don't get caught! Don't get caught!"
Han Che had never felt his heart beating so loudly before. Right now, he wished his heart would stop too, afraid that they would hear it!
Shield Dog walked towards the innermost cubicle, where three large figures stood with their backs turned!
To fight or not to fight?
"Damn it, my hands are so itchy, I really want to hit them!" Han Che stared at the three people's backs, his teeth almost grinding to powder!
"Ten seconds left, prepare to evacuate!"
"There's no one inside, Captain. Let's go back to that room. This doesn't seem to be an evacuation point!"
"Let's go back!"
The three returned to their room at the evacuation point, and Han Che looked at the three people who were so close to him!
"5, 4, 3..."
Damn it... I can't take it anymore!
"The sky belongs to Hafk!"
Bang bang bang bang bang bang!!!
Ding ding ding!!!
Ash-12 roared like a fire serpent, striking the player operator's chest armor, causing the operator to cough up blood and stagger backward! He stumbled and fell backward!
To Han Che's surprise, the shield dog reacted extremely quickly, hitting the operator with only two shots before its shield was already pressed against Han Che's face in an instant!
Three bullets struck the shield, sparks flying and a deafening metallic clang echoing through the air!
The next moment, the three of them vanished from the cell.
"Suka! What was that just now?!" The one who was shot was the operator at the back of the squad. Two shots hit his chest; one shattered his armor, and the other left him with half his health!
He was just one shot away from being killed!
I was almost killed right at the extraction point!
Back in the real world, I'm fully recovered, but I still have a sharp pain in my chest, and my whole body feels like it's been washed with sweat!
This is terrifying! This prison is terrifying! NPCs were all camping out the whole way, why are there still people camping out at the evacuation point?
The operator with the shield looked grave. "I suspect... that's the map boss, the Warden..."
"What!?" The man's mouth gaped open, speechless for a moment.
"You mean? The map boss! The warden! Is crouching at the extraction point!" He swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down with a gulp.
"We won't shoot when we enter! We won't shoot while we're queuing! We'll wait until we're almost here, and then launch a surprise attack when we let our guard down!"
"What kind of boss is this?! Does he have no shame?! I'm so ashamed of him!"
The operator who was shot went berserk and slammed his helmet to the ground.
The captain ignored it and didn't try to comfort him; instead, he went to the side of the operator with the shield.
"Are you sure? It was the warden? Why would he do this?"
The shield-wielding operator shook her head. "Not sure... I didn't see clearly, and I couldn't find where the person was hiding."
"In such a confined space, it was impossible to discern the direction of the gunshots at first glance." The loud gunshots echoed and overlapped in the narrow space, making it indeed difficult to pinpoint their location.
But he still managed to block the line of fire.
"You did a great job, Alexei, you saved one of our comrades."
Alexei's face didn't show a smile; instead, it became even more serious. The NPCs in this map were too strange!
"Captain, I suspect..." Alexei put down his great shield and looked at his captain.
"You said..." The captain leaned closer to Alexei, listening intently.
"That warden probably deliberately waited until the last two seconds to fire."
"If he succeeds, he will kill our people."
"If he fails, we'll have little time to mount a counterattack within those few seconds!"
"In any case, he's invincible!"
The captain's expression changed upon hearing this. "What? Then what he did was..."
"That's right, his approach is very similar to ours as players... trying things out while keeping the costs to a minimum."
"In other words... he's afraid of dying!"
