Chapter 8

Trading

"Your Excellency Warden, I was impolite just now. I saw the player was about to shoot at you, and in a moment of panic, I blocked your line of fire..."

"Please punish me!"

Han Che looked at the shield soldier in front of him who had blocked Li Hao's counterattack for him. "Soldier, the operation is not over yet. I will decide on the rewards and punishments after everything is over."

"Now, back to the team."

"yes!"

Han Che bent down, picked up the goggles Li Hao was wearing, and put them in his coat pocket. Its live streaming function had been damaged and shut down during the battle.

"Take him to the basement."

Two prison guards stepped forward from behind Han Che, lifted the unconscious Li Hao, and took him to the basement located below the warden's office.

……

Li Hao slowly opened his eyes, his vision was difficult to focus for a moment, and the light in front of him was dim.

"Where is this?" This was the first thought that popped into Li Hao's mind. He thought he had been killed and sent back to the entrance.

But the completely unfamiliar scene, his limbs that he couldn't move at all, and his cold and painful left shoulder all told him that this was not the club's medical room he was familiar with.

He's still in prison!

Once Li Hao understood what had happened, he was immediately relieved. The scene before him made his eyes widen in disbelief, and his pupils trembled violently.

In the dimly lit room in front of me, various white dolls were carelessly discarded.

Chains hung from the ceiling, with mangled limbs and heads of dolls suspended from them, creating a sinister and terrifying scene.

An interrogation light emitting a blinding yellow glow was placed to the side.

He tried to struggle, only to find himself completely bound to a restraint frame.

On the iron bunk bed next to it, there were several different dolls piled up, and dark red liquid dripped from the iron bunk bed, making a sticky and disgusting pattering sound.

"Ugh~ Ugh~!" He struggled to shout, but found that his mouth was covered and he couldn't make a sound. Only the sharp pain in his shoulder reminded him that this was not a dream.

"You're awake?"

Upon hearing the voice, Li Hao trembled and looked in the direction of the sound, where he saw a masked man dressed in black in a dark corner.

"!!" Memories from before I lost consciousness flooded back. He was the one who kidnapped me? What did he want? Wasn't he an NPC? How could he do something like this? Shouldn't he have just killed me?

Doubt and fear gripped his heart, but since they could communicate, he forced himself to calm down, suppressed his rapid breathing, and stared intently at the man in black.

Han Che stood up and slowly walked towards Li Hao. Seeing that Li Hao had suppressed his tense and rapid breathing, a hint of admiration flashed in his eyes.

"Let me introduce myself. My name is Geheros, and I am the warden of this prison." As he spoke, Han Che helped Li Hao remove the gag from his mouth.

It was a map boss! No wonder it was so powerful!

Li Hao, whose mouth had been blocked for so long, moved his aching jaw and asked in a hoarse, low voice, "What do you want to do?"

"I'm very interested in you and would like to make a deal with you."

Li Hao never expected such a reply: the NPC had captured him to make a deal?

He was beginning to suspect that he had triggered a hidden plot point on the map. "What kind of deal?"

"It's very simple. I see you guys really like this," Han Che said, as if by magic, pulling out a main battle tank model from his coat, which immediately caught Li Hao's attention.

"Answer a few questions for me, and this is yours."

This is a hidden mission?! And there's a reward! A super reward at that! Right now, among all the major clubs worldwide, only the Bear Country has a main battle tank model; the Dragon Country doesn't have a single one!

"You asked..."

Han Che nodded. "How did you get into my prison?"

"?" Li Hao had thought he might be asked some state secrets, but instead he was asked such a common sense question. Wasn't this big red thing just a free gift?

"A portal will appear randomly around the world. We'll be able to get here when it opens."

Han Che touched his chin under the mask, lost in thought.

How often does the portal open?

"I'm not sure about your area, but most other portals open once every 3 days, and sometimes they open once every 2 days."

"Is this your weapon? Is it made in your country?" Han Che pointed to the Tenglong assault rifle lying on the ground.

"No, we can't bring the weapons we make here. All the weapons and equipment are brought out from various maps, otherwise they wouldn't be so expensive." Li Hao muttered to himself the last sentence.

Just like Han Che, he realized that weapons and protective gear produced by the state would not be so expensive. Now he felt at ease, no longer worried about the players having too much equipment.

"What's this for?" Han Che picked up Li Hao's goggles.

"..." This time, Li Hao remained silent without answering.

But this silence only proved that the eyes did indeed have a unique function and significance, so Han Che did not press further.

"Alright, one last question: if I kill you here, will you die?"

Upon hearing this, Li Hao looked at the white mask in shock, wanting to see what kind of eyes were hidden in the black shadows beneath them.

"I won't get beaten to death..."

"You won't get killed? So you mean there are situations where you could be killed, right?" Han Che understood the unspoken meaning in his tone.

Li Hao remained silent and did not answer.

After a moment, Li Hao's lips moved slightly, and he uttered a trembling voice, "Your name is, Geheros?"

Li Hao raised his head and met Han Che's gaze from behind the mask.

"Yes."

"My name is Li Hao." Now it was Han Che's turn to be puzzled. Why did he suddenly say this?

"What about you NPCs... I mean, do you and your subordinates also resurrect?"

"certainly!"

"That's great, Geheros... I have a feeling we'll meet again someday."

"If you come back to my prison, we'll see each other again."

Li Hao stopped replying, shook his head, and a faint smile could be seen on his pale face.

Han Che stopped arguing with him and had the prison guard untie him. "Here, take this. I, Geheros, keep my word."

Two prison guards lifted Li Hao up, one on each side, and followed Han Che out.

Li Hao did not resist. He held the main battle tank model in his hand while observing the prison guards and the backs of Geheros.

"Pipeline gate open..." Han Che directed the prison guards to pull the gate again, opening the evacuation point.

"Alright, you can leave now, right?"

Li Hao looked at the evacuation point cell in front of him, then turned to look at Geheros's mask, nodded slightly, and then limped into it.

"Prepare to evacuate, 5, 4, 3..."

Whoosh! A smoke grenade exploded outside the cell bars, and footsteps rapidly approached.

"Damn it! The evacuation point is here? I've been wandering around this godforsaken place for ages, thinking I was never going to get out!"

It was that Japanese man; he's still alive!

He rushed into the smoke, preparing to slip away from right under the noses of the NPCs.

Li Hao wanted to remind him, but the first thing the Japanese who rushed into the smoke did was to snatch the big red bag from Li Hao's hand.

"How did this thing end up with you! Where's your equipment?"

The Japanese stared in shock at Li Hao, who was completely unarmed, and the model of a main battle tank in his hand.

He had just watched Li Hao enter the evacuation point with the group of prison guard NPCs, and initially thought he was seeing things. Now, it seemed more like he was in cahoots with those prison guard NPCs.

"Li Hao, have you been bribed by them?! Hand over this big red ribbon, or I'll report you to the club!"

"You're talking nonsense!" Li Hao, covered in injuries, watched as his big red envelope was about to be snatched away.

A shot rang out from outside the smoke, hitting the Japanese soldier directly in the calf.

His lower leg snapped and broke, circling in the air before landing to one side.

Suddenly, a large hand wearing a red combat glove emerged from the smoke, grabbed the Japanese man by the back of the neck, yanked him out of the cell, and slammed him to the ground.

The sudden, violent impact to his back forced the air out of the Japanese man's lungs, causing him to curl up on the ground and cough violently.

Several prison guards rushed forward, immediately subdued him, and confiscated his weapons.

"Go easy on him, don't kill him!"

"No, kill me! Kill me!" the Japanese man screamed hysterically, desperately trying to grab his gun.

With a "bang," Han Che delivered a powerful chop to the back of his head, instantly knocking him unconscious.

[The prison will close in 3 minutes...]
