Chapter 20

Prison Escape Point

"The gunfire over there is intense, what should we do?"

"A firefight has broken out between the teams?"

"I don't know, the gunshots sounded very clear, were they submachine guns?" Old Wang listened intently to the details of the sounds from the core area.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The sound of explosions echoed through the prison.

"A grenade? Probably an American," Old Wang analyzed. "Should we go and break up the fight?"

Just as Captain He was hesitating, pinching his chin, Tiger Girl immediately exclaimed, "Wow, Captain He, this is a real gem! Another airline case!"

Captain He's eyes followed Tiger Girl's voice as he watched her half-crawl into the flight case and rummage through it.

"Hey Xiao Jin! Captain, there's so much stuff here!" Tiger Girl held up a white processor and showed it off to the two men.

Team Leader He looked around at the surroundings, then at Old Wang. "Forget it, let them fight it out. We're so rich here, we'll eat their meat while they fight."

Old Wang nodded in agreement, and the three of them split up to search for supplies.

Tiger Girl breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the two give up on going to the core area to fight.

"Be careful until you find out the warden's true situation, or you may be lost in prison forever."

Recalling Li Hao's warning to her that night, she knew she absolutely couldn't let them pass.

"Hey Lao Wang, Tiger Girl! I got some gold too! Come quick, there's lots of supplies over here!"

The three members of the Phoenix team bypassed the core area and sneaked off to the side to devour the kills...

Meanwhile, John and Hank had slowly made their way back, trying to avoid the warden.

Wait for the other teams to arrive and engage the warden, then take advantage of the chaos to evacuate.

The iron gate in front of them marked the boundary of the prison area. Hank followed behind John, and the two walked slowly and quietly forward.

Just as John quietly slipped through the crack in the iron gate, gunshots rang out from the other side.

From Hank's angle, he couldn't see what was happening on the other side of the gap; he could only hear the clanging of bullets hitting the iron gate.

And the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground with a thud.

"Huh? Why is there only one? Where is the other person?" Han Che stood on the other side of the iron gate, looking at the gap in the gate.

Weren't there supposed to be two people left? How come there's only one?

A shadow flashed past through the gap in the iron gate, and Han Che's lips curled up in a smile beneath his mask.

It turns out they attacked too early; the other person was behind them and hadn't had a chance to come out yet. They should have let both of them out before attacking. What a pity.

Thinking of this, Han Che cleared his throat.

Are you scared?

Then, with his hands behind his back, he led the shield bearers in front of him and the ten prison guards flanking him from both sides, pressing step by step toward the gap in the iron door.

"rest assured!"

"Gheros's trial will be as precise as surgery!"

Run, run! That was the only thought in Hank's mind at that moment.

Driven by his survival instinct, he ignored the tightness of the splint on his calf!

Ignoring the numbness caused by the painkillers!

Ignoring the dull pain from my broken leg bone!

Run! Run!

In his final moments of fleeing, he caught a glimpse of blood seeping through the crack in the iron gate out of the corner of his eye…

The clattering of boots behind the iron gate was more terrifying than a death knell at that moment!

By the time Han Che's shield soldiers pushed through the iron gate, Hank had already vanished without a trace.

"He runs pretty fast!" Han Che muttered.

They then checked on John, whose head had been smashed while leaning against the door.

"Level 5 armor, level 5 helmet! A fully upgraded M4, so extravagant..." Han Che muttered to himself.

As expected of Americans, they're still this arrogant even in this world!

He then looked at the two shield bearers and said, "You two go find a place to hide and rest."

The Shi brothers, Ding and Lei, looked at Han Che and said, "Warden, we are your personal guard. We want to stay by your side. We're fine!"

"You two were blown to bits by the grenade, don't push yourselves, or we'll have to pay to revive you. Go now."

The two brothers exchanged a glance and nodded silently.

"It's okay, don't feel pressured, you did a great job!"

Han Che comforted him, saying that when the Bald Eagle Association threw grenades downstairs, it was just two shield bearers and an ordinary prison guard pretending to be the warden and his personal guards.

When the grenade exploded, the two shield soldiers, following Han Che's instructions, crouched down against the wall, using their shields to protect their entire bodies, thus blocking most of the damage.

"The rest of you, return to your previous positions and stand by!"

After dismissing all the prison guards who had accompanied him, Han Che went to the evacuation point cell by himself.

Upon entering the cell, I was surprised to find that, as the map boss, he could actually sense the location of the extraction point.

The feeling was subtle, like another space was pulling at this area.

As we walked deeper into the innermost part of the cell, which was no longer within the evacuation zone, the pulling sensation became even more pronounced.

"Where is this feeling coming from?" Han Che carefully observed the cell.

Since players can return to the real world from here, there should be a connection between this place and the real world.

"Hmm? This puddle..." Han Che knew very well that the puddle at the bottom of the cell evacuation point led to the escape route by jumping down.

But that feeling comes from here, or more precisely, from that cave entrance.

Han Che had visited this place a few days ago when he was inspecting the prison, and he had also swum across the waterway below. At that time, there was nothing unusual.

"Could it be... because of the power outage?"

Han Che swallowed hard. He didn't know what would happen if he went through the hole, but the feeling of being pulled apart was particularly strong. So he tentatively stretched his foot out of the hole.

[Warning, host, do you wish to travel to a player's world?]

The system's voice suddenly appeared in his ear, startling Han Che!

"Holy crap, you scared me to death! Why did you suddenly speak?"

The system detected that your coordinates had just shifted, so it immediately issued a warning to you.

"What warning? I can't go?" Han Che asked irritably.

[Host, your mission is to become the warden, to become Gherros. But Gherros doesn't appear in the player world, which doesn't make sense...]

"Geheros won't go. I'm Han Che, what's wrong with me going?"

[It is now the prison's opening time. You are currently in Gherros, so you cannot proceed.]

"..." Han Che was speechless. This system was really obsessed with this identity.

"What will you do if I insist on going?" Han Che lifted his foot, pretending to step into the cave.

The system that Han Che had imagined would try its best to stop him did not appear; instead, it remained silent.

"Tsk... What's wrong with this guy?" Han Che said unhappily.

"Okay, okay, I won't go now. I'll go after today, alright? If I go, are you confident you can bring me back?"

[Gheros will forever belong to the Tide Prison]

"...Could you explain more clearly?"

The system remained silent again.

Damn it, riddle solvers deserve to die!

He probably meant that he would definitely come back!

Oh well, the system has already said that we can indeed go to the player world from here, so it won't make a difference if we wait a little longer.

It would be safer to come back when the prison is closed, so let's finish today's business first.

Just as Han Che gave up on going to the player world and returned to the prison.

From the cell behind us came the clicking and scraping of metal, accompanied by heavy footsteps approaching!

"What?" Han Che's pupils suddenly contracted.

Looking out of the cell, a huge riot shield led the way, followed by a group of players forming a dump truck that was striding toward the small cell!
