Chapter 3719

According to the situation in the past few years, the equipment that the special operations division receives from the Ministry of National Defense every year is mainly from the army, and almost all of the weapons they receive are the latest models.

On the one hand, this is to maintain the top combat effectiveness of the special operations division, this ace force. On the other hand, the Ministry of National Defense also intends to let the special operations division try out these new weapons and give corresponding feedback so that the ordnance department can make improvements.

However, although these new weapons have good combat performance, they are often just being finalized and put into production not long ago, and their production capacity is extremely limited, so the number issued to special operations divisions will not be too large.

This makes it unlikely that special operations divisions can be equipped on a large scale. On the contrary, the increase in the types of weapons equipped by the troops has increased the pressure on military supply and logistics support.

So from the perspective of the special operations division, the combat power increase brought by these new equipment to the troops is actually very limited, not as much as the Ministry of National Defense expected.

Of course, it would be another matter if the Ministry of National Defense’s supply of new equipment could be increased to a higher level, allowing the special operations divisions to equip themselves with it on a large scale in a short period of time.

Among the rewards provided to the special operations division this time, equipment update is a very important one.

According to the arrangement of the Ministry of National Defense, the Special Warfare Division will receive 4,000 new rifles within the year. This improved model based on the Type 48 rifle was delivered to the Special Warfare Division in small batches last year for trial use, and received good reviews. Taking this opportunity, the Special Warfare Division will also become the first unit in the Hai Han Army to officially be equipped with this type of rifle.

According to the organization of the special operations division, these 4,000 guns are enough for a reinforced regiment to complete a comprehensive replacement, and the overall improvement effect on combat effectiveness will certainly be more significant.

In terms of heavy equipment, considering that one of the combat characteristics of the special operations division is the emphasis on mobility, the artillery allocated to the special operations division by the Ministry of National Defense has always been mostly light and small-caliber field artillery that is easy to transport.

However, in the past year, the special operations division has successively established strongholds in Ceylon and the Middle East. These isolated armed strongholds are all coastal ports, and the potential threats they face are more from the sea. It is difficult to form an effective sea defense relying solely on light artillery, and it is still necessary to equip them with some heavy coastal defense guns.

Therefore, in this equipment distribution list, in addition to adding twenty light artillery pieces and four water-cooled heavy machine guns to the special operations division, there are also ten large-caliber coastal defense guns specifically used to arm these new ports.

Taking into account the extremely small number of artillery troops in the special operations division's arms composition, the Ministry of National Defense will also select a group of graduating artillery cadets from the Army Academy and assign them to serve in the special operations division to fill the personnel needs.

You have to know that Hai Han's artillery has always been a hot commodity. From a certain perspective, the scarcity of artillery is even greater than that of the new equipment that is in limited supply. Artillery trainees trained by the Army Academy have always been the target of competition among garrison troops in various places, and even the special warfare division is no exception.

This time, the Ministry of National Defense directly handed over both personnel and equipment to the special operations division at one time, saving the special operations division the trouble of recruiting talents on its own. It can be considered a special case, as other domestic troops have never enjoyed such treatment.

But this is not all the rewards. In terms of naval ships, the special warfare division, which urgently needs to expand its organization, will soon receive a new batch of combat ships.

Qian Tiandun's application for fleet expansion has been submitted several times, and this time he will finally get the maximum satisfaction.

The Special Warfare Division will be assigned a standard combat fleet, namely one Majestic-class warship, four Expedition-class warships, eight Exploration-class warships, two Sailfish-class high-speed reconnaissance ships, four Barracuda-class armed troop transports, and four Yugong-class heavy-load supply ships. These ships will be delivered to the Special Warfare Division in batches over the next six months.

At the same time, at least one thousand sailors will join the special operations division along with these ships.

The Ministry of National Defense clearly stated its intention in relevant documents, which is to have the Special Operations Division station a fully equipped fleet in the Middle East waters west of the Indian Ocean all year round to ensure the safety of Hai Han’s ports and trade routes operated there.

This is of course also related to the fact that the Special Operations Division has fought pirates several times in the local area. If there were no such external threats, the Ministry of National Defense would probably not have provided the Special Operations Division with such a large-scale expansion opportunity so quickly.

However, given Hai Han’s current shipbuilding capacity and order pressure, it is impossible for all the ships delivered to the Special Operations Division to be new ships. Most of them are still active ships drawn from the Northern Fleet, East China Sea Fleet and other forces to first meet the Special Operations Division’s deployment needs in the Indian Ocean.

But for the special warfare division that is eager to expand the size of the fleet, now is obviously not the time to be picky, and being able to use it is already quite good. With the establishment of this entire fleet, Qian Tiandun will be more relaxed in deploying troops in the Indian Ocean region.

In addition, the Ministry of National Defense has authorized the Special Operations Division to establish an exclusive cavalry unit in the Middle East to carry out various military missions that require going deep inland.

However, considering the special local environment, the Ministry of National Defense will not provide war horses to the special operations division, but the special operations division will purchase them locally on its own.

After all, Arabian horses are an excellent breed of high-grade horses, and their ability to adapt to the local environment is far beyond the reach of other horse breeds. If horses are transported there from other places, it would be a bit superfluous.

The support that the Ministry of National Defense can provide for this project, in addition to the funds for purchasing horses, is to assign several veterinarians and horse trainers to the special operations division to help it form a force as soon as possible.

Such support is rare in recent years. Even the two regions of Luzon and Xingdao, which set foot in the southern new continent last year, received far less support from the Ministry of National Defense than what the special operations division has gained this time.

As for the immigrants that Qian Tiandun urgently needs, the Hai Han Civil Affairs Department will also hold long-term recruitment activities in various coastal areas of the country to specifically transport immigrants to the Indian Ocean region under the jurisdiction of the Special Operations Division.

It is expected that within the year, tens of thousands of immigrants will be recruited in the country for this project, which will undoubtedly greatly alleviate the population demand during the development period of the new colonies.

Of course, this kind of ultra-long-distance immigration project itself is difficult to recruit enough people who are willing to immigrate overseas, and simply giving more resettlement fees will not have much effect.

It would be unrealistic to expect that all immigrants would be people of clean backgrounds and good family backgrounds. Among them there would inevitably be some prisoners with minor crimes who were exiled instead of serving their sentences, or enemy personnel captured by the Hai Han army on other battlefields.

According to previous experience in providing immigrants to the North American region, people of this type of "irregular origin" probably account for one-third or more of the entire immigrant group. In the early days of the Sing Tao region, this type of people even accounted for more than half of the immigrants received.

So there is a joke that the place where Hai Han holds the most prisoners is not the big prisons in various places, but the overseas colonies far away from Hai Han’s mainland.
