Chapter 202

Chapter 202 Showdown
When Caesar heard Andrea's voice, he felt at peace.
Behind him followed soldiers armed with guns and wearing heavy armor. When Caesar appeared in front of the recruits, they tensed up and instinctively pointed their guns at him.
Andrea glared at them and said coldly, "Point the gun downwards. Didn't you learn that during gun handling training?"
"When there is no danger, the gun should always be pointed downwards."
The men who were scolded blushed and quickly lowered their guns.
At this moment, Caesar stepped forward with a friendly smile.
He had taken off his helmet, revealing his face, which made him appear more respectful and approachable when interacting with others.
Caesar smiled and said, "They're all new recruits, it's normal that they can't remember these things. With more training, they'll naturally remember them."
The new recruits looked at Caesar with much friendlier eyes.
Then Caesar said, "However, you must remember this about the gun barrel. Guns can easily go off accidentally. Standing so close together, if one goes off, it will injure more than one person, understand?"
The recruits nodded repeatedly, their faces showing a hint of shame; it was clear they knew they had made a mistake.
"Come on, Andrea, let's go grab a couple of drinks. You were a real hero today."
Caesar looked at Andrea with unprecedented admiration in his eyes.
This praise and recognition were more intoxicating to Andrea than wine.
Just as Andrea was about to nod in agreement, she suddenly thought of the few people left in Woodbury and said with a clear look in her eyes, "Not now, we have to get back to Woodbury as soon as possible."
"No guards were left there, only Milton and some people who hadn't joined the army."
"Milton is the talent we need, but he may not be able to accept it right away. I need to talk to him."
After a moment's thought, Caesar smiled and nodded in agreement, "Alright, I'll go check out Woodbury too."
"Take two squads with you and come back to Woodbury."
"We need to move the supplies and staff in Woodbury as quickly as possible."
"The house in Yellowstone is all ready."
The convoy left the prison in a grand procession.
From the outside, the prison appeared to have suffered a significant attack on its front yard, with the barbed wire gates and the main prison building in complete disarray.
This includes, but is not limited to, doors being gone, the ground and walls covered in blood and flesh, some corpses turning into zombies, and vehicles crashing into walls and totaling their weight.
These all need to be cleaned up by people.
Moreover, the gunshots and sounds of fighting attracted the attention of many walkers.
The defensive traps on both sides and at the rear of the prison also came in handy, stopping some of the approaching zombies.
But these zombies were merely blocked; their tenacious vitality allowed them to remain alive in the traps. All of these zombies needed to be cleared out.
Those who remained in the prison began to clean up the area.
The convoy hurried to Woodbury.
The weather in Woodbury was sunny and pleasant, and it looked quite beautiful.
Aside from lacking popularity, everything else seemed just right.
Milton, still wearing his plaid shirt and overalls, stood awkwardly on the wall, holding a gun, pacing back and forth.
Milton wasn't very good at shooting; he didn't even take off the safety. Fortunately, no walkers appeared.
At that moment, a convoy appeared at the end of the road.
Milton's eyes widened, and he quickly raised his gun, wanting to fire a warning shot and shout to alert the residents of Woodbury that an enemy had appeared.
In his panic, he didn't even notice that the convoy that appeared was Woodbury's own convoy.
Milton only fired a shot in a panic when the convoy was close to the main gate.
His forehead was covered in sweat, and his hands were numb from the recoil, almost slipping from his grasp. Milton, enduring the pain, shouted at the top of his lungs, "This is Woodbury. No one else is welcome here. Get out of here!"
Even at this point, Milton still hadn't realized that these cars belonged to Woodbury.
The door of the lead car opened, and Andrea got out. She rested one hand on the door, tilted her head to look at Milton, and said helplessly.
"Milton, can you at least check if these cars belong to your family before you say that?"
Upon seeing Andrea, Milton's tension instantly eased. He dropped his gun, casually placed it on the ground, adjusted his glasses, and wiped the sweat from his brow. "I was so nervous."
Seeing his flustered look, Andrea had no choice but to suggest, "Open the door first, we'll come in and talk."
"Oh, okay." Milton quickly climbed down the wall and opened the main gate.
The main gate was open, and vehicles entered one after another.
Milton glanced at the convoy and frowned.
Why are some of these vehicles military armored vehicles?
I don't remember Woodbury having these cars. Were they confiscated after the jail was raided?
Milton didn't dwell on this point and closed the main gate after all the cars had entered.
Instead of going to the designated parking area, the convoy parked scattered along the main road.
Everyone got off the bus, and the recruits hurried home. They needed to pack their belongings and follow Caesar to the long-awaited community of a thousand people.
The two combat squads that Caesar brought then leisurely went to guard and defend the walls at the main gate and other weak points in Woodbury.
Milton stared blankly at the black-armored warrior who brushed past him.
Turning around, the black-armored warriors guarded the wall as if it were their own home, making this awkward feeling even more tangible.
"Milton, over here." Andrea waved her hand, gesturing for Milton to come over.
Milton walked up to Andrea and then noticed the tall, strong man next to her.
"Come, let me introduce you to Caesar, the leader of Yellowstone," Andrea said.
Caesar extended his hand, and Milton, somewhat bewildered, grasped it.
"Hello, Milton, I've heard about you for a long time."
Caesar spoke with a smile and a gentle tone.
Milton blushed, thinking: This guy really knows how to talk; I've never even met him before.
"Me too, me too," she replied politely.
After letting go, Andrea planned to explain to Milton what had recently happened.
Caesar noticed this and pointed to the back of the street: "Then I'll go take a look first, you guys chat."
Milton only trusts Andrea quite a bit, and having a stranger like himself standing there might cause Milton some misunderstandings, so it's better to avoid him.
Having received responses from the two men, Caesar leisurely walked into Woodbury.
After Caesar left, the two fell silent.
After a long silence, Milton sighed and said in a low voice, "Go ahead and tell me, I can accept it."
He had a good understanding of the governor and knew what kind of person the governor was.
But the governor was a rare friend of his, and he was unwilling to give up his friend.
