Chapter 55

Armory

"These four groups of people around were tricked in this way. They spent all the supplies in their teams to come in, but they had no food as soon as they came in, so they started looking for suckers to borrow food from."

After Lloyd finished speaking, Caesar asked, "So, none of them came from some outside camp?"

Caesar didn't actually care about these people's past experiences; he was just worried that they might have connections with a certain camp outside, which could cause unnecessary trouble.

Of course, the trouble wasn't about eliminating them, but rather that Caesar would have to go out to Blackpine Valley to wipe them out completely.

Caesar had read countless works on apocalyptic themes, but he only gleaned one insight from them.

That is ruthlessness.

Seizing the opportunity means crushing the enemy; we cannot give them any chance to breathe.

You must understand that this is the end times; one person could cause the destruction of an entire camp.

Caesar was only willing to be the executioner, not the victim.

Lloyd said, "As far as I know, no."

"If there were a campsite outside, no one would be willing to leave it for an extended period of time."

Come to think of it, even raiders have a fixed camp to rest in.

Having understood the situation, Caesar had only one order.

Damn it!

"Should we develop a battle plan?" Lloyd asked.

Caesar stood behind the wooden table, his hands resting on it, his eyes gleaming with a fierce light: "The plan?"

"There's only one plan: crush them."

"A bunch of thugs dare to bully us? They're asking for it."

This was the first thing Caesar encountered upon returning with his men. If Caesar handled things gently, what would the people on the ranch think of him?

How would those jackals and tigers outside view him? They would only look down on Caesar, treating him like a ball to be kneaded at will, and bullying him from time to time.

Caesar had to choose: strike hard.

After the order to attack was given, Daryl, Mor's squad, and Caesar's squad were assigned to the attack.

Guillermo's team stayed behind, focusing on guarding the vicinity of Jenner's experimental vehicle.

Moore swaggered up to Amy and said, "Caesar sent me to get the guns."

Amy nodded; Caesar had already told her about it before.

Amy led Moore into Caesar's stone house, and they walked to a corridor where a painting hung at the end.

The painting depicts a heavily armored knight riding a horse, standing on a hill strewn with corpses, the bodies rendered with remarkable realism.

Amy stepped closer, gently lifted the painting, and the painting moved forward slightly after sensing the movement.

A small window appeared that allowed for both password and fingerprint decryption. Amy then performed some operations.

The entire wall begins to unfold inward, revealing a downward staircase.

"Please!" Amy extended her hand and stepped aside.

Moore raised an eyebrow and said in surprise, "Boss, this little secret room is really well done!"

As you walk down, the walls are all thick cement walls, and the steps under your feet are made of embedded stones. They have not been decorated and reveal a rough and primitive feel everywhere.

After descending the steps for a while, Moore's vision began to darken.

At that moment, a lamp appeared in the darkness.

Below the light was a thick iron door, with a familiar combination lock and fingerprint lock on top.

Moore stepped forward, about to make way for Amy to open the door behind him, when he heard Amy speak.

"Captain Moore, this door has your fingerprint registered, and you should know the password well."

Hearing Amy's clear voice echoing in the space, Moore paused for a moment, then smiled.

"Tsk, the boss really knows how to win people over!"

Although Moore knew that Caesar valued him, he did not expect that even such an important armory would have his fingerprints recorded.

Thinking of this, Moore chuckled again, his face displaying a complex expression.

Moore reached out and pressed his hand on the fingerprint lock, then tentatively entered the date of the first day he met Caesar.

Boom—

The sound of gears turning and mechanical parts moving came from behind the door, and then the door opened inward.

As Moore stepped inside, the dark room was instantly illuminated by lights, and Moore saw the entire armory.

"Welcome to the armory, Captain Moore."

Wei's cold voice reached my ears.

Amy walked gracefully into the armory and explained, "This is artificial intelligence, VE. You should have seen it at the CDC. The boss asked Dr. Jenner to place VE here as well."

Moore didn't understand the use of artificial intelligence; he only cared about power, and the firearms displayed on the containers in front of him were power.

The armory is spacious, with gun cabinets placed against the walls on both sides, reaching all the way to the ceiling. Each row of cabinets can hold three guns of different sizes, and the bottom of the cabinets contains the corresponding types of ammunition.

In the middle, there were some waist-high display stands, on which were placed various heavy firepower, such as light machine guns, machine guns, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers.

There are also high-powered firearms like sniper rifles.

Each platform is spaced one meter apart, enough for people to pass through, and the view stretches as far as the eye can see.

Moore's eyes widened in surprise at the sight. With so many guns, even Caesar wouldn't back down from attacking Atlanta.

Amy explained, "This armory is very large, but there are still many empty shelves. The guns on these shelves were all taken from the CDC."

"After distributing them to the combat crew, this is all that's left. There's no need to use heavy firepower for the time being."

Moore stared intently at the machine gun on the platform, then couldn't resist reaching out to touch it. "Can we have some fun tonight?"

Amy bluntly dismissed Moore's idea: "No."

"The boss still needs the houses for those four camps. You can just blow them up with a machine gun. It's unnecessary and not worth it."

Moore sighed regretfully, stroking the machine gun, his eyes filled with an incomprehensible tenderness towards Amy.

Then, Amy pulled out a shopping cart from somewhere and let Moore choose a gun, put it in the cart, and get it for free.

After Moore walked through the entire armory, he realized that only the first small section was filled with firearms; the rest was mostly empty.

Moore wasn't too greedy; he only needed to select a few guns.

Moor and Daryl's squad doesn't have many members, only ten people at most, so taking too many guns wouldn't be useful.

As he left the armory, Moore bumped into Caesar.

Moore opened his mouth, only to realize that he was actually so bad at expressing emotions, and even found it difficult to utter words of true loyalty.

Caesar wasn't surprised; he simply smiled and patted Moore on the shoulder. "Do a good job. You'll definitely be a great general on the ranch someday."

"You and your brother Daryl are both my right-hand men, and I trust you completely!"

Mohr nodded heavily and left the stone house with his gun holster.

Caesar watched Mor's retreating figure with an unchanged expression.
