Chapter 27
, Step 2 of the Plan
T-boy was much stronger than Morales. With a push, he could knock over several zombies and shout.
The sound immediately drowned out the hoarse cries of the surrounding zombies. Upon hearing this, the two people behind quickly took off the riot shields they were carrying on their backs.
Immediately, the front of the car became the rear, and the rear became the front.
The two people at the front of the car started running out, and the ropes binding them immediately pulled on the others.
A group of people were pulled outwards by the force around their waists.
Caesar turned around and continued running, his axe still clapping wildly.
With enough strength and so many zombies, killing two or three zombies with a single axe swing is no problem.
The zombies surged forward so fast that Caesar didn't even need to aim.
The entire squad charged forward headfirst, their masks splattered with blood, obscuring everything except for claws that filled their vision and the gaping, menacing heads of zombies.
After running for what seemed like an eternity, the squad finally broke through the horde of zombies.
The two men at the front of the car felt a sudden emptiness in front of them, and unable to loosen their grip, they staggered and fell to the ground.
Several people behind him also fell to the ground.
When Caesar saw a white light ahead, he knew he was about to break through the horde of zombies. He cleverly jumped forward, overtaking several of his teammates.
Caesar turned around, grabbed one of his teammates with his left hand, and started pulling.
"Get up, get up!"
Supporting each other, the zombies also came over, their claws scratching at the bomb suits.
The explosion-proof suit is of good quality, with only some minor scratches and white spots.
Caesar exerted all his strength and slammed backward, knocking over several zombies and causing the zombies behind him to fall to the ground.
This created a vacuum around the team members, free from zombie attacks.
"Walk."
Caesar didn't let this opportunity pass him by, and pushed the group forward.
After slaughtering the horde of zombies, everyone's physical strength was greatly depleted, and their bomb suits suddenly became much heavier.
My legs felt like they were filled with lead, making every step extremely difficult.
Caesar also noticed that several team members were not in good condition. Morales and T-boy's helmets were missing, and their faces were pale.
"Hang in there a little longer!"
Caesar had no other choice but to encourage the men by speaking up and then turning his head to look at them.
The horde of corpses roared and followed behind the group, crowding the street and rushing forward in a frenzy.
Every now and then, a zombie would slip and fall, only to be trampled into a bloody pulp by the zombies behind it.
Caesar took a deep breath and turned around; he was not going to receive the same treatment as Boyi Kao.
After turning his head, Caesar hadn't run far when he saw an alley ahead with barbed wire at the entrance.
Caesar's eyes lit up; they had finally arrived.
"Keep going, we're almost there! It's just ahead, keep going!"
The group was so exhausted that their eyes were glazed over. Upon hearing this, they seemed to regain their senses and quickened their pace.
Soon, everyone arrived.
Caesar, at the back of the procession, grabbed the barbed wire and closed it.
The next second, the zombie crashed into them, screaming wildly through the barbed wire.
puff-
Caesar sheathed his dagger, and the zombie lay limp on the ground.
"Phew, that startled me!"
"Let's go, hurry up."
The alley was a dead end, with a short ladder leading to the rooftop of the building.
Caesar had chosen it carefully; the ladder had a safety railing, and the building wasn't very tall.
The group was quite exhausted, and their climbing speed was not ideal.
Caesar looked up, then turned to look at the zombies clinging to the barbed wire.
As the number of zombies increased, the barbed wire mesh dented inwards due to the pressure.
Even the bolts securing the wire mesh on both sides seemed to be cracking, creaking under the strain.
Without further hesitation, Caesar used his dagger to cut the rope around his waist.
He glanced at Morales beside him, "Tell them to hurry up and go up!"
Morales realized what Caesar was about to do, paused for a moment, and then nodded heavily.
Caesar strode toward the barbed wire fence, pulled out his dagger, and stabbed at the gaps in the wire.
The walker's eyeballs were like bubbles, soft and bouncy.
Poke it, and it explodes with water inside.
After Caesar stabbed a dozen or so zombies, their corpses were pushed by the force behind them and forced into the barbed wire.
Caesar gritted his teeth and pushed forward against the barbed wire. He pushed the barbed wire outward slightly, and then it caved in even more deeply.
After trying for a while, Caesar heard a popping sound.
Caesar opened his eyes wide, lunged forward to get away from the barbed wire, and ran into the alley.
Sure enough, the barbed wire collapsed with a crash the next moment, and several zombies struggled to stand on the bodies of their kind, attacking into the alley.
Caesar gripped the stairs with both hands and nimbly climbed forward.
Morales and T-boy above also reached out to help Caesar.
The walkers scrambled and crawled toward the stairs, the first two grabbing Caesar's boots.
Caesar didn't hold back and kicked him hard.
After a sickening cracking sound, Caesar climbed onto the platform in the middle of the stairs.
Caesar removed his helmet, exchanged a glance with Morales and the others, and burst into laughter.
It feels so good to be alive!
After catching his breath, Caesar stood up and looked out at the horde of corpses.
The alley was filled with zombies, and the streets outside were also teeming with them, desperately trying to squeeze into the alley.
Caesar could see that many zombies were being squeezed, causing them to bleed black blood and chunks of flesh, and some unfortunate zombies were being crushed to death.
Caesar was then relieved and took out his walkie-talkie:
"Glen, Glen. The task force has completed its mission. Lead the team into the market to investigate supplies."
"Moore, Daryl, take the men and drive the car to the square. Oh, and there are lots of shopping carts in the square, don't forget to take them!"
"receive!"
"Boss, Moore has received orders to depart immediately!"
Mohr's strange laughter rang out, and Caesar received responses from both teams.
On the other side of the square.
Glenn straightened himself up. Although he wasn't wearing a bomb suit, he had taken many precautions, such as applying some oil to reduce the zombies' grip.
Jimmy, dressed in similar clothes, walked over and asked, "Glenn, are you done?"
"Alright, let's go!"
Glenn took a deep breath, looked around at his teammates, felt a heavy responsibility, and nodded in response.
After speaking, Glenn glanced at the stunned young man. He was completely different from the people around him, without any protective measures, like a college student who came to visit.
Glenn frowned, thinking to himself: When we get back, I'll have Caesar kick this guy out of the team.
He had a vague feeling that something was off about this person, while Jimmy treated him quite well.
Glenn and the others got into the car.
Several sturdy pickup trucks crashed into the square, crushing the few crippled zombies left behind.
The pickup truck stopped at the market entrance, and Glenn got out and led his team toward the market entrance.
Suddenly, a voice called out to Glenn.
"Young man from the Dragon Kingdom, be careful," Daryl said.
Glenn frowned, too lazy to correct Daryl, and simply nodded before walking into the market.
"Hey, little brother, you're overflowing with sympathy again." Mor knew very well that Daryl was a kind person.
But Moore had to remind Daryl to always remember not to be so kind, or he would lose his life.
Daryl turned his head away: "I didn't."
