Chapter 206
Killing Machine
Chapter 206 Killing Machine
The vehicle slowly drove into the prison, where many zombie corpses lay around.
Caesar and his combat personnel did not get into the vehicle. Instead, they followed the vehicle forward, clearing away the zombies that were running across the prison yard.
The zombie moves slowly and can't run. You just need to wait until it's been walking for several minutes before you hit it on the head.
They walked and killed as they went, and soon they were close to the main body of the prison.
The main entrance to the building is not a large gate with barbed wire. To prevent criminals from escaping, the door was deliberately made into a single door commonly used in homes. However, the door is made of much better material, using harder steel.
The main entrance to the prison is not level with the outside ground; it is considerably higher and connects to steps leading down. Furthermore, a rigid wire mesh is used to enclose both the steps and the entrance.
The barbed wire surrounding the prison is very soft and moves easily. When there are many zombies, the entire barbed wire will dent inwards. But this rigid barbed wire is different. Unless it is broken, only a finger can be inserted.
The door opened, revealing Mor's figure. He was wearing only a white vest and whistled at Caesar.
"Hey, long time no see! What brings you a pretty girl with you?"
Beth was standing next to Caesar. When she saw Moore's thuggish appearance, she hid behind Caesar.
Caesar glanced at her and snapped at More, "Stop talking nonsense and get down to work."
Moore shrugged and lazily walked down the steps. "Fine, brother, you've got your heart set on women, haven't you?"
The members of Moore's squad, carrying various weapons, followed him out. They were all burly and had a thuggish look, just like Moore.
However, they were thugs and hooligans, and Caesar was worried that they would cause security problems, so More took them under his wing.
They were beaten into submission one by one, and then their ferocity and violence were vented outside. Their attitude towards the people of Huangshi was much more lenient.
Caesar glanced at the crowd and asked in surprise, "Where's Daryl? Where did he go?"
"Where else could he have gone? He went to the woods to clear out the walkers." Moore trusted Daryl's abilities completely, and even though he went out in the middle of the night, he wasn't worried at all that anything might happen to him.
Caesar nodded in agreement; Daryl was a trustworthy man.
"Hershel, you stay in the prison with your men to clean up the zombie corpses, burn and bury them all, and then clean and repair them. I will leave you some combat personnel for protection."
Hershel replied knowingly, "Okay, I understand. You can go ahead and get back to work."
"Beth, I'm going to deal with the walkers now. You stay in the prison," Caesar said softly, pulling Beth aside.
Although Beth wanted to go with Caesar, reason told her that she would only be a burden to him. Suppressing her reluctance, she smiled and said, "I know, I'll wait for you~".
Caesar smiled and reached out to pat Beth's head.
After kneading for a while, Caesar finally withdrew his hand, unconsciously squeezing it again as if he was still not satisfied.
Looking up, Beth's eyes seemed unfocused, her mouth slightly open, looking somewhat drunk and dazed, which was also kind of cute.
"Be a good girl and cook a good meal while I get back. Remember to make it delicious."
After saying that, Caesar waved his hand and walked out.
Beth, who only then realized what was happening, quickly waved and said, "Come back soon."
Upon hearing this, Caesar turned around and smiled at Beth.
The sun was shining brightly, and Caesar, standing in the light, with a smile as warm as the sun, struck Beth's heart.
His heart, which was already pounding for him, now beat even faster.
Beth clasped her hands together in front of her chest, feeling as if little rabbits were jumping wildly in her heart. She stared blankly in the direction Caesar had left, unable to come back to her senses for a long time.
Upon entering the woods, the warmth vanished instantly, replaced by a chilling, damp atmosphere.
Caesar's eyes were much more alert. He would occasionally turn the axe slightly and relax his muscles to ensure that he could exert maximum force when he suddenly exerted it.
The surrounding forest was very tall and straight, with large gaps between the trees, giving the zombies ample time to react if they emerged from behind the trees.
Therefore, Caesar kept a close eye on the surrounding bushes and other places, where the probability of hiding zombies was higher, and the zombies that could stay in these places were probably missing limbs.
"Let's clear away the bushes first, and then head towards the traps while we search for them."
Caesar chose safety over efficiency.
Caesar's direct subordinates immediately carried out the order, and Moore and his team immediately agreed.
In such serious moments, Moore's usual smile would fade, and he would look quite serious.
Whoosh—
The bushes were cleaved open with a sharp blade, revealing a zombie missing its lower body. The zombie raised its head, looked at the human standing beside it, and opened its mouth as if to scream.
He swallowed a knife into his brain, spilling a lot of blood, and the zombie stopped moving.
Instead of immediately clearing away the bodies, Caesar led his team further in.
The further you go in, the more zombies you encounter.
There's no need to look for walkers anymore; plenty of them will appear around here.
Caesar no longer passively awaited the zombies' attack. Holding an axe in his right hand and drawing a dagger in his left, he decisively joined the battle, unleashing his full firepower.
With a powerful swing of the axe, the zombie's head was instantly severed from its body.
When a zombie rushed too far forward, Caesar seized the opportunity and could even swing his sword from top to bottom, splitting the zombie in two, its organs scattered all over the ground.
With a wide, sweeping swing of the axe, a flash of cold light, and a zombie fell to the ground.
The dagger in his left hand, like a venomous snake striking, is mainly used to defend against walkers that appear from tricky angles. Unlike the axe, which is full of violent aesthetics, it is aimed directly at the walker's temple or eye socket.
These two locations can easily reach the brain; with a gentle stir, the brain turns into mush, especially the eyes, which feel very good to the touch.
Caesar, flanking from both sides, launched a fierce attack.
While Caesar used his formidable physique and astonishing reflexes to maneuver through the horde of walkers, the other combatants maintained their battle formation and advanced steadily with melee weapons.
They weren't as bloodthirsty as Caesar; they didn't aim to kill the walkers, only to repel them. Once a walker fell, they would finish it off in the next second.
They behaved like cold-blooded killing machines, highly efficient and powerful.
Moor stood in his own group, and he did not act rashly as when attacking alone. He was more focused on the team and would not disrupt the formation to kill one or two zombies.
After cleaning for about ten minutes, most of the zombies had fallen down.
Morales took a jug of water from his backpack and handed it to Caesar.
"Thank you." Caesar took the water bottle, took a sip, and casually handed it to Mor, who had walked over.
Moll drank it all without hesitation and handed the empty jug to Morales.
