Chapter 67

Arrangement

The stars shone brightly in the night sky as the pickup truck slowly pulled into the parking lot.

After bidding farewell to everyone, Caesar returned to the stone house.

"You're back~" As soon as I entered the house, a figure carrying a faint scent of shampoo rushed into my arms.

Caesar smelled faintly of alcohol. Amy buried her head in Caesar's chest and took a sniff.

Amy looked up, her face flushed: "Have you been drinking?"

Caesar nodded: "I had a drink with old man Leon and discussed some things. I need to talk to the people at the ranch tomorrow."

Amy didn't press the matter further, but simply asked, "Would you like something to eat?"

"Does your stomach feel uncomfortable?" Amy asked, slipping her hand inside Caesar's clothes and gently massaging his abs.

As you rub, it turns into a caress.

Caesar looked down and saw that Amy's face was even more flushed, her eyes sparkling, as if she were thinking about something.

"Feed." Caesar clenched his fist and gently placed it on Amy's head.

Amy pretended to be in pain, covered her head, and looked at Caesar with a pitiful expression.

"I'm sorry, Master, this slave was wrong."

Seeing Amy's expression, Caesar immediately laughed and pinched Amy's little face.

"Could you cook me a bowl of noodles?"

"Okay~"

Soon, a bowl of plain noodles appeared in front of Caesar, who looked at Amy in surprise.

Amy leaned on the table, looking at Caesar triumphantly, and explained in a low voice, "Here, plain noodles."

"I know you like Asian food, so I went to the warehouse specifically to find the seasonings and then asked the Asians on the ranch to teach me how to use them."

"Try it!"

"Okay." Caesar lowered his head and took a bite.

"Hmm, it tastes pretty good!"

Caesar's eyes lit up, and he gave Amy a thumbs up.

"I want to eat too."

Amy opened her mouth, indicating to Caesar that she should be fed.

Caesar fed Amy with chopsticks, and Amy chewed it, her face full of admiration for him.

After enjoying their late-night snack, the two took off their clothes and went to sleep.

The next morning, the wind blew across the grass.

Caesar sat on the sofa and looked at the ranch executives he had gathered: his cowboy confidants, several combat squad leaders, Carol, Beth, and Amy.

"Tell me your thoughts, what are they?"

Caesar clapped his hands, signaling everyone to speak freely.

The steady Ryan spoke first: "Whatever decision we make, we need to understand the situation with old man Leon and Horus."

"They've lived peacefully together for so many years, and even with the outbreak of the apocalypse, they should have developed a certain level of understanding or trust. Under these circumstances, if a suddenly powerful force emerges, they should logically join forces to eliminate it."

Ryan practically pointed out that this collaboration was a scam, a trap.

Caesar nodded, neither affirming nor denying Ryan's idea.

He simply looked at Daryl and said, "Daryl, take a few men and find out what's going on with Horus and old man Leon."

Daryl agreed, as reliable as ever.

Moore glanced at Daryl and offered, "Boss, I can also take on some of the reconnaissance duties."

Caesar thought for a moment, then nodded.

There are still too few people. Daryl and Moore jointly lead a small squad. Most of the squad members listen to Moore, while only two or three listen to Daryl.

Daryl is better at scouting, as is Mohr, but their teammates aren't.

Training an excellent hunter takes several years and mainly relies on Daryl and Mor; others can only assist at most.

Horus's ranch is much closer; it would take a small team several days to scout it out, not to mention old man Leon's place, which is almost an hour away.

Caesar's own combat squad couldn't be moved around, and Glenn and the others hadn't returned yet.

We're short-staffed!

Caesar looked at Daryl and the other man: "The reconnaissance can be done slowly. Don't rush it. Even if it's a little slow, don't risk your lives."

After giving a few words of advice, Caesar looked at the others and asked, "Do any of you have other opinions?"

Moore crossed his arms and leaned back on the sofa without saying a word.

Daryl and Guillermo only listened to Caesar and rarely expressed their own opinions.

The elderly Lloyd chuckled, stood up, his steps a little unsteady, and said, "We don't need to care what Horus and old man Leon are thinking. We just need to know if we can profit from this."

"We'll fight Horus alongside old man Leon. If we win, we'll get the land and livestock we want."

"If we lose, we will have to bear the pressure of losing manpower, but we can try to avoid this problem, for example, by playing more cautiously, or, to put it another way, by playing more timidly."

"Let old man Leon's men charge forward. And I reckon old man Leon won't send a large number of his own men, after all, he still has Phil under his command."

Caesar gave Lloyd a look of approval, tapped the table, and all eyes turned to him.

Let me share my thoughts.

"That means we must participate in this battle."

"We'll definitely benefit from fighting Horus against old man Leon, regardless of whether we win or lose. Because we're powerful, even if we don't put in enough effort and lose..."

"So we turned around and attacked old man Leon, saying that the operation failed because of problems with his men."

"If we win, then there's nothing more to say."

Caesar grinned cruelly, pulled out a dagger and stabbed it into the table. "We'll kill Horus first, then Leon."

Extend your palm and slowly clench it into a fist.

"Their population, livestock, weapons, and territory are all ours. We're not playing house with them; we only have one question to consider: how to swallow them up at the lowest possible cost."

The overwhelming murderous aura filled Mor with excitement, his eyes glowing red. He could already imagine himself standing on Horus's corpses, enjoying the fruits of victory.

This is...exciting!

After the discussion ended, Caesar kept Daryl and Carol behind and dismissed the others from the study.

"Carol, I've noticed you've been practicing your daggers every day lately."

Caesar leaned on his desk with one hand, speaking in a relaxed and casual tone, as if he were having a casual chat.

"Yes." Carol couldn't quite understand why Caesar would ask that, and subconsciously used her past experiences to disguise herself.

"After Ed died, Sophia only had me left. I want to protect Sophia, so I'll practice."

Caesar looked up at Carol, who was slightly hunched over, just like when she was being abused at home. However, the confidence and sharpness in her eyes were not well concealed.

"Carol, there's no need for such formalities."
