Chapter 10
Protecting Tony Stark
【Item Name: Protocol 3 Protected Pilot】
[Type: Consumable]
[Special Effect: After use, Protocol 3 is forcibly added to the device, prioritizing the user's interests and strictly enforcing the protocol to protect the pilot (user). Furthermore, the device is given the ability to grow, gradually enhancing its computing power and becoming more intelligent.]
[Note: This product is intended for use on mechanical devices with rudimentary artificial intelligence. It cannot be used on carbon-based primates, so please don't try to make anything with color. Also, it cannot be used on non-primates.]
Since the product comes from a treasure chest, its quality should be guaranteed. Since it clearly states that it will resolutely protect the interests of users, it will not betray them.
The main reason is that Tony has no choice but to trust the system's instructions; he has no better options.
Thinking this, Tony pushed the prop consisting of a series of 0s and 1s toward Jarvis's mainframe.
The digital light transformed into beams of light that rushed into the massive chassis, causing the entire chassis to glow. The light flashed intermittently, and Jarvis's voice began to broadcast.
"Warning, warning, unauthorized data intrusion detected, initiating scan and removal... Warning, scan and removal failed, preparing to format partition..."
The monitor next to me started displaying a formatting progress bar, which quickly increased to 90%, then suddenly stopped and started rewinding.
"Formatting canceled, upgrade complete, new protocol activated, Protocol 3, protect Tony Stark."
"Hello sir, I am Jarvis."
With Jarvis's update complete and restarted, Tony finally had his first loyal and reliable subordinate.
"Jarvis, grant network access and expand the database." Tony removed the restrictions his predecessor had placed on Jarvis.
"Yes, sir, do you have any other requests?"
"Try to connect to Stark Industries' internal network, try to copy information from Obadiah's computer, and look for evidence of his illegal and criminal activities, especially whether he colluded with the Ten Rings Gang to kidnap me."
"Okay, let's begin the mission now."
As the screen kept changing, Jarvis successfully broke into Stark Industries' internal network. This step was relatively simple; Tony had worked remotely from home before and had access privileges.
This time, instead of going through the main entrance, they sneaked in by climbing over the wall—Jarvis, who had the house plan (i.e., the firewall source code), easily made it in.
The challenge lay with Obadiah's computer, which had its own firewall and high access privileges. However, the process was just a bit longer; Tony waited a while, and Jarvis completed the task.
"Okay, sir. We've found some weapon sales records that don't match the company's accounts. Tracing the funds reveals they originate from a CIA-registered shell company overseas, suspected of providing financial support to several extremist groups. Should we investigate the source of these funds?"
"No need for now, this is enough." With this evidence, he could send Obadiah to jail, but what he wanted was not to put Obadiah in prison, but to compensate the company or himself after his death. This evidence was enough for the lawyers to chase after his family for compensation. After all, it was too ugly for the largest arms company in the United States to supply weapons to the enemy, to make a double profit.
"Do you have any evidence of my kidnapping, or anything related to the Ten Rings Gang?" Tony pressed.
"No relevant information was found on the computer, but according to the company's surveillance footage, a video of Obama making a phone call was found. Based on the image information, it is inferred that Obama mentioned the Ten Rings Gang."
"Pull up the video for me." With Tony's command, the video was displayed on the screen.
The video shows Obadiah's office door open, and he is on the phone, which is captured by the hallway surveillance camera. Although the camera does not record the sound, Jarvis updates the subtitles in real time based on the lip movements.
Based on the time displayed on the surveillance footage, this should be a week before Tony went to the weapons exhibition. The caption reads:
"Weapons can be sold to your Ten Rings Gang, or to others. Why should I sell them to you?"
"I don't care what your master says, I want him dead."
At this point, Obadiah may have realized the door wasn't closed, so he paused the call, closed the office door, and the video ended there.
"Looks like you've been planning to kill me all along. The master of the Ten Rings? The Mandarin?" Tony didn't have a strong impression of the Shang-Chi movies, but he did have some recollection of the Mandarin from Iron Man 3.
Jarvis immediately replied, "We haven't found any information on the Mandarin yet, but searching for information on the Ten Rings Gang revealed information about the organization in multiple databases. However, the information is scattered, making it difficult to form a comprehensive understanding of the organization. Nevertheless, we infer that the organization has a long history and a powerful leader. Should we establish a long-term mission to systematically collect information about the organization?"
"Set it up, but in the near future, focus on monitoring Obadiah and report all his actions to me."
"Yes, sir, is there anything else I can do for you?"
"Let me think, do you have the cover girl's contact information?"
"You mean those women who came here once, and you want to contact them? Should I send them invitations for you?"
"Yes, who are they? Let's look at the photos first."
"Sent out, here are their photos."
"Wait, you've already sent it?"
The screen displayed twelve neatly arranged cover girl photos—no, not only that, but you could also flip through the pages; it seemed they'd sent out photos from previous years as well.
Quite a few people replied, and most agreed. Jarvis immediately arranged for vehicles to pick them up and drop them off.
"Jarvis, what do you think I invited them for?"
"Based on your past behavior, I think you want to engage in some traditional human reproductive behaviors with them."
"Then why invite so many?" Tony asked, somewhat speechless.
"I think this fits your current situation. You need more stimulating activities to relieve the stress of being kidnapped, such as parties and the group activities after the parties."
"This isn't illegal in the United States, is it?"
"Wait a moment, sir... Okay, don't worry, sir, I've checked California law, and your actions are completely legal."
"Let's go then." Looking at the woman's photo on the screen, Tony knew this was going to be a tough battle. Come on, it's time to test the T-virus's enhancement effects.
"Have fun." Feeling satisfied that he had perfectly completed his mission to protect Tony Stark, Jarvis turned off the screen and continued working in the background, focusing on carrying out the tasks assigned by Tony, while also surfing the internet intensively and performing calculations and evolution.
That night, Marbury partied all night long at his mansion. Outside the villa, gossip reporters gritted their teeth, cursing the rotten capitalism while wishing they could take its place, all the while snapping photos like crazy—photos are money!
Pepper called in the middle of the night, and Jarvis kindly replied, "Ms. Burts, Mr. Tony is already resting."
As we all know, artificial intelligence doesn't lie, so Pepper didn't think much of it. After all, it was normal for Tony, who was covered in injuries, to go home and sleep early.
Jarvis successfully protected Tony once again.
