Chapter 25
Missiles
Let's go back a quarter of an hour.
The leader of the Middle East branch of the Ten Rings Gang was very excited because today he would meet the great Lord, the Most High Khan.
He was to offer a miraculous item—the method of immortality that allowed the dead to be resurrected—so the master summoned everyone.
It looks like the year-end bonus is being given out! What will the master bestow upon us?
Since taking over as leader of the Middle East branch of the Ten Rings Gang, the leader has never met the master. However, according to the previous leader's description, the master is extremely powerful, possessing superhuman strength, and has used this strength to train a superhuman personal guard.
Unfortunately, the Royal Guard hasn't been selected from the Middle East for a long time; the selections are all conducted in the Southeast Asian branches. However, by offering this magical item, I'm sure I'll regain my master's attention.
With hearts full of excitement, the leader finally saw the arrival of his lord, and the group of people knelt down to welcome him.
After the three cars stopped, Xu Wenwu, dressed in a white suit, got out of the middle car.
The guards in the other two cars also got out, some carrying modern weapons and others carrying cold weapons.
Xu Wenwu ignored the leader and went straight into the house, followed closely by his guards.
After entering the room, Xu Wenwu sat in the main seat of the hall, with guards armed with cold weapons standing on both sides, and those with firearms standing at the four corners of the hall.
After kneeling for a long time, the leader, seeing that his master ignored him, not only failed to realize that there was a problem, but also stood up on his own, showing no sense of tact, and began to pledge his loyalty.
"My lord, I have found something amazing for you. It will be the new weapon of our Ten Rings Gang, enabling us to take control of the world."
Seeing that Xu Wenwu did not react, the leader could only continue, "It can also bring the dead back to life, and through it we can grasp the secrets of life and death."
Upon hearing this, Xu Wenwu's expression changed slightly, and he nodded, saying, "Take the things out."
Seeing that Xu Wenwu had finally spoken, the leader quickly instructed his kneeling subordinates, "Quickly, bring out the things."
Upon hearing the order, the subordinates quickly got up, went to the side of the hall, dragged over several large boxes, and placed them in the center of the hall.
The leader walked up to the box and respectfully said to Xu Wenwu, "My lord, please look, this is what we have obtained."
Following the leader's words, his men removed the wooden boards sealing several boxes, and several ragged zombies immediately ran out of the boxes.
The zombie struggled to bite its leader, who was not far away, but its prepared subordinates held it back by the chains securing it to the box, preventing it from moving at all.
The clanging of chains and the hoarse roars of zombies echoed incessantly in the hall.
Xu Wenwu frowned as he looked at the zombies before him. The leader, thinking his master was unaware of their value and might mistake them for drug-addicted lunatics, quickly explained:
"Master, these guys were buried underground for several days, but when we dug them out, they were not only lively and energetic, but also incredibly strong. It took several people to hold them down."
He then pointed to several soldiers who were using chains to restrain the zombies.
Xu Wenwu remained silent, and the leader, assuming his words had had an effect, continued, "And that's not all. According to the retrieved surveillance footage, they can become even more powerful, withstanding bullets, grenades, and even RPGs! With these weapons, our Ten Rings Gang can rule the world!"
After delivering a passionate speech, the leader suddenly noticed that although Xu Wenwu did not make any move, the eyes of his personal guards were very cold, a kind of eye he was very familiar with—the eye of looking at corpses, or the eye of looking at prisoners before he began the slaughter.
The leader broke out in a cold sweat instantly, and considering the positions of his personal guards who were carrying weapons, he dared not think any further.
Xu Wenwu then began to speak.
"Actually, I've never cared what you do, whether it's massacres, fighting for territory, engaging in terrorism, or spreading your beliefs. After all, what I want is something the Ten Rings Gang can't get. I don't care about you at all. But there's one thing you did that was incredibly stupid: you exposed the Ten Rings Gang to the world, making me vulnerable to being bothered by some ants."
"Master, I was wrong. I shouldn't have kidnapped Tony Stark, and I shouldn't have released those videos." The leader finally realized his mistake. Today, he was lucky to even keep his own life, let alone his year-end bonus.
"It's not your fault. After all, someone wanted me to be exposed, to push me. It was an old friend, or rather, an organization that should have died long ago."
"Master, do you mean it's Obadiah? I'll go and kill Obadiah." Hearing the hope of survival, the leader quickly began to express his opinion.
"Obadai, he's just a nobody. You see, you can't even see the most basic truth. You only see what others want you to see."
Xu Wenwu paused here, then slowly continued.
"Then why would I keep you around?"
As soon as the words fell, the guards sprang into action, their blades flashing in the hall as soldiers of the Ten Rings Gang fell to the ground one by one.
Blood was everywhere, and the unrestrained zombies rushed towards Xu Wenwu, who was standing in the center.
Xu Wenwu raised his arm, and with a buzzing metallic vibration, ten rings flew out from his clothes.
The ring stood in front of the zombie. As the ring vibrated, invisible energy enveloped the zombie, which struggled desperately but could not move forward.
"Strange skills and ingenious tricks, and so-called resurrection, are nothing more than empty shells of corpses, a defilement of living beings."
At this point, Xu Wenwu remembered something and became even angrier, clenching his fist.
The ten-ring immediately increased its power, and with a hum, the zombie was squeezed and crushed as if by an invisible hand, then collapsed inward into a ball without a drop of blood splattering out.
After crushing the zombie, Xu Wenwu felt a little better and said, "Let's go. From now on, the Ten Rings Gang in the Middle East will be history."
Just as the guards were about to reply, another unexpected event occurred. The door was blasted open, and countless grenades, stun grenades, and other explosives were thrown in, followed closely by whistling bullets.
Xu Wenwu's expression remained unchanged. With a wave of his hand, the bullseye flew out again, hovering in mid-air. Invisible energy formed barriers, blocking bullets and shrapnel from exploding grenades, protecting himself and his men.
Returning to Eric's perspective, after a moment of mental blankness upon seeing the illogical scene before him, Eric immediately offered himself a plausible explanation.
This is high technology. That ring is some kind of energy conversion device, and the energy field it generates protects them. Wakanda must have something like this too.
Although this reason wasn't very convincing, he couldn't waste any more time thinking about it. As the captain, he had to come up with a solution to deal with the other side. As for negotiation, that was out of the question. Eric didn't think he could negotiate calmly with the other side after his door was blown open and a box of grenades was thrown at him.
Eric quickly pulled out his walkie-talkie and roared, "Bomb! Hurry up, bombard the houses with missiles!"
Although the electronics expert couldn't see what was happening inside the room, he knew from Eric's voice that the situation was urgent. Without hesitation, the electronics expert activated the missile.
The missile hurtled from Stark's warehouse at supersonic speed and struck the enemy precisely on the ground.
The powerful shockwave sent Eric and the others flying far away. After Eric recovered from his dizziness, he struggled to his feet and tried to look into the distance to see if the missile had taken care of the enemy.
The house had been razed to the ground, but Eric was still not at ease. He looked around to make sure the other party was really gone.
A voice suddenly rang out from behind Eric, and at the same time someone patted Eric on the shoulder.
Are you looking for me?
