Chapter 54
Serum
Looking at the oscillator now working, Tony recommended...
"General Ross, I think you should prepare a few more of these in the future. They're very useful for dealing with these large monsters."
Tony had to shout it out loud because of the enormous noise from the shockwave.
"I'll buy a few more. Now we can shut it down and get rid of it. We should get down to business," Ross shouted back.
"Okay! No problem."
Tony pressed the button again, and the shockwave stopped, but the Tyrant still didn't move. The shockwave had damaged the Tyrant's internal organs, and even with the T-virus's regenerative abilities, it wouldn't recover in a short time.
Tony explained again, "Because the current T0 enhancement will cause the user's intelligence to decline, basically turning them into a beast, the research direction is to equip them with a control system. The control system is not perfect yet, so we have only made a self-destruct system."
After saying that, Tony tapped his watch again, and the Tyrant's helmet began to vibrate. Soon, the Tyrant became completely still.
"Alright, his brain is already liquefied. If you're interested, you can perform an autopsy on the body."
Ross was equally blunt, saying directly to the female adjutant, "Call those useless bastards over here and give them a good once-over."
He then reached out and patted Tony on the shoulder, saying, "I've always admired you. You're a super genius, just like your father!"
"General Ross, no matter how nicely you talk, you still have to pay up," Tony reminded him, urging him not to just talk the talk without walking the walk.
"Those are minor matters. I'll have my deputy discuss the details with you." Clearly, for Ross, who wasn't spending his own money, anything that could be solved with money was a minor issue.
Ross stopped patting Tony on the shoulder and instead stepped forward to put his arm around Tony, saying affectionately.
"Instead of discussing money, we should talk about the specifics of our cooperation."
"Cash on delivery, we'll calculate per person, and then include after-sales service," Tony asked tentatively. To be honest, Tony hadn't really thought about this cooperation model in detail, since it was quite different from the arms trade.
However, I also discussed it with Wesker before I came, and we have a few options. We can talk to Ross about them one by one.
"That's impossible. You can't have exclusive access to the enhancement technology. We need basic data, master the core technology, and at least have the foundation to replicate it in a short time."
Tony stared at Ross in shock. Was he really that shameless? Or rather, no wonder he went into politics later on.
Tony and Wesker had initially considered that the military would definitely try to obtain the enhancement formula and cultivate the T-virus themselves, since they couldn't allow the production of enhanced soldiers to be controlled by civilian companies.
But Umbrella just learned a gene-blocking technology, right? Wesker guarantees that he can completely lock down the T-virus enhancement technology for at least one to two years. Even if it is cracked after that, he can still use his first-mover advantage to monopolize the latest version of the T-virus enhancement and control the strongest and best strain.
"That's impossible. Umbrella is a company, not your military's research institution. They won't give you their technology for free," Tony emphasized, but he had other plans in mind.
Ross listened to Tony's words without getting angry or tearing off the mask and forcing a deal with Tony. After all, Tony was no ordinary person; he was a tycoon who controlled military-industrial enterprises and was the true master of America.
"That's right, it's a company. We can cooperate using a company model." Ross also has a think tank and has already prepared multiple plans. As long as Tony's enhancement is acceptable, there will be a corresponding plan.
"What do you mean?" Tony asked curiously.
"It's simple, cooperation! We'll invest, and I'll purchase Umbrella's shares on behalf of the military."
As soon as Ross said that, Tony's first thought was, "Am I now a state-owned enterprise?" But he quickly shook off this messy idea. In fact, Ross's method had precedents, but most of them were non-profit organizations, although there were also some that required strategic investment.
Considering that Ross was targeting him, and that his company still needed to remain in the US for the time being, Tony knew he had to cooperate, so he asked:
"Let's talk specifically about issues like shares and equity. How are you considering these matters?"
Seeing that Tony was interested in cooperating, Ross continued, "I'll have Catherine, my adjutant, talk to you about the specifics. The gist of it is that I'll send technical personnel to join your project, and we'll share technical information."
"So you produce your own enhancement potions and leave me behind?" Tony retorted.
Ross shook his head and assured him, "No, my technicians are just ensuring that the technology won't have any vulnerabilities and that it can be replicated if necessary. We'll use normal procurement methods for the enhancement drugs."
Seeing Tony's questioning look, Ross explained, "I've invested in this business. I get a share of the money from the enhancement drugs you sell. How could I possibly produce them privately? Of course, I'm representing the military."
After Ross's explanation, Tony immediately understood and believed that Ross wouldn't start something else. After all, shared interests are the most reliable, and to be honest, the leak of the enhanced T-virus wouldn't be entirely bad for Tony.
After all, there is the Dominator Core as a safety net. The wider the spread, the more people he can control. If the Dominator Core or his telekinesis is upgraded, he may actually be able to activate the Hive Consciousness and control all the infected with his mind.
"It's a pleasure to work with you!" Tony readily extended his hand to shake hands with Ross.
Seeing this, Ross also extended his hand, but as soon as they shook hands, Tony said again, "How much money will you get for the investment? You need to know that Umbrella Corporation has a lot of fixed assets now. If you want to acquire shares, you'll have to pay a lot of money."
"Fixed assets? What fixed assets does a biotechnology company have? Your experimental subjects don't count, and while experimental equipment is expensive, there aren't many." Ross has been working on his bio-enhancement project for so many years, and he is very clear about the flow of experimental funds.
"That won't cost much, but there's a lot of land available lately, right? Even though the real estate market is sluggish right now, it's an upscale area, and it's by the sea, so the land prices aren't cheap."
Ross's lips twitched involuntarily. "Didn't I fight for this for you? Besides, this is all land affected by the virus. How can it be sold at a high price? If you build a house and then emphasize that it's toxic and harmful, how can you expect people to live long?"
However, since it wasn't his own money, Rose didn't feel any pressure and simply accepted it.
"Don't worry, you'll definitely be satisfied."
"That's good. By the way, since we're partners now, could you share the technical data on the super soldiers? Maybe I can figure something out."
That's pure bragging. After all, Tony doesn't have the brains of a genius; he just wants to get something for free and see if he can use the Heart of Domination to optimize it after the injection.
Then he could give his blood to Wesker for research, extract some gene-enhancing drugs, and enrich the product range.
