Chapter 88
The Inflated Bronsky
After waiting for many days, Banner finally arrived at Culver University. No one knows how he, penniless as he was, managed to cross the North American continent. If he were to compile his experience into a book, it would surely be enthusiastically received by people who firmly believe in the American Dream, and might even become a bestseller.
As soon as Banner entered the public surveillance area, Jarvis locked onto him through the camera. However, there is still a lack of surveillance in public areas in the United States, making it impossible to lock onto him in real time, and he often lost track of him in blind spots.
Eric, watching Banner's furtive movements on the monitor, reported to Tony, "Should we make a move? I think even if we don't, the school security will go and chase him away."
Banner was travel-worn, his clothes were dirty and didn't look right, yet he still insisted on squeezing into the school. No wonder the security guards paid special attention to him.
"Tell the security guards to ignore him and start clearing the area. Let our people get ready."
With Tony's order, the Umbrella Operations Team, which had taken over security at Culver University, began operations.
Banner, who had been keeping an eye on the entrance of the laboratory building looking for an opportunity to sneak in, suddenly noticed that the security guard at the entrance had left, probably due to a shift change.
Sensing his opportunity, Banner quickly slipped inside, completely unaware that the security camera in the corner was watching him intently.
Banner entered the building and looked around at the environment, which was not much different from when he left. It was still the same corridor and the same room, except that the sign hanging on the door no longer had his name on it, but only Betty Rose.
The scene made Banner reminisce about the past, and he didn't notice that there were fewer and fewer people around him.
After calming down, Banner pried open the laboratory door. Years of life on the run had made Banner an expert in all sorts of petty theft, lock picking, and credit card fraud.
Just as Banner had expected, there was no one in the lab. This was something Banner had been doing all morning to confirm that Ross hadn't come to work today.
After finding the experimental computer, Banner saw that he needed to enter a password. He tried entering the date of his first date with Betty, and the password was correct.
Banner fell silent again, memories of the past flooding his mind. But this time he quickly calmed himself and began searching for experimental data.
But it's obvious that no matter how thorough Ross's search was, the lab computers must have been replaced. Betty was already quite bold to hide a USB drive; she wouldn't store the data on the work computer.
Banner searched for a while but found nothing, so he had to give up and start thinking of other ways.
Just then, the laboratory door opened, and Banner immediately became alert, turning his body towards the window, ready to jump out and escape at any moment, whether it was Betty or someone chasing him.
But the person who came in was dressed in a bespoke suit, wore glasses, and had a refined appearance. He greeted Banner very warmly.
"Hi, Dr. Bruce Banner, let's talk."
Banner didn't run away immediately because of what the other person said; at least it didn't sound like Ross's men. Ross's men would usually just shoot.
"Who are you?"
"Looks like life on the run is tough, you don't even have time to watch the news. I, Tony Stark, should be quite famous."
When Banner heard Tony's name, he remembered and exclaimed, "That playboy!"
Tony wasn't annoyed at all. After all, he was indeed a playboy. He used to be able to tout himself as a genius inventor, but now Tony just wanted to get rid of that label as soon as possible, lest someone come to him for an academic discussion in the future, which would be too embarrassing.
"That's right, but I'm not here to see you today because I'm a playboy, after all, you're not a beauty. I'm here because I'm an arms dealer."
Banner understood Tony's meaning, his face immediately darkened, and he started thinking about an escape route, but he still kept talking to Tony.
"What do you mean? Are you inviting me to join Stark Industries? I'm sorry, I haven't done research projects in a long time. If you really want to find someone, I can recommend a few friends."
"Don't be so resistant. I'm not like Ross. Look, at least I didn't bring a gun in. Let's have a proper talk."
"What's the difference? Aren't you all trying to clone the Hulk to use as your weapon?"
Banner laid his cards on the table, while simultaneously planning his escape route: jump out of the window, crawl into the building next door, and if he ran fast enough, he could scale the school wall and reach the commercial district next door. Stark Industries couldn't very well fire in the heart of the city.
"You still say you didn't bring a gun? Humph, Hulk and I are the same person. Although I don't remember the specific details, I recognize you. It's not because you're a playboy, but because you fought with Hulk. You yourself are a weapon. If it weren't for Hulk, you would have rushed up and arrested me long ago."
"Since you know I have enhancement technology, why are you worried about us replicating the Hulk? My enhancement technology is already sufficient; I don't need another Hulk."
"No, the Hulk is different." Banner wanted to add that the Hulk was more powerful and dangerous, but after thinking about it, he realized there was no need to explain to Tony, so he changed his words and said, "I won't let something so dangerous fall into the hands of capital."
After saying that, he ran to the window and jumped out. Fortunately, the laboratory was on the second floor. Banner rolled on the ground to dissipate the force, stood up, and ran to the building next door.
Tony walked to the window, watched Banner run into the stairwell, and then silently counted 1, 2, 3.
Before he could even count to ten, Banner flew out backwards.
Then Bronsky strode out, shouting.
"You, let that thing out!"
Tony frowned as he watched Bronsky emerge, then turned on his walkie-talkie to contact Eric.
"What's going on? Where did Bronsky come from?"
Eric said helplessly, "General Ross said he was sent to supervise. He was standing next to me observing, but as soon as Banner jumped out, he rushed out. It's obvious that the super soldier serum made him too confident and a little arrogant."
"Okay, but I reckon he'll be leaving soon. Tell our people to get ready and see if we can take down the Hulk."
"receive."
While Tony and Eric were talking, Bronsky rushed in front of Banner, picked up the slightly dazed Banner, and grabbed him by the neck, saying...
"You'd better make him come out quickly, or I'll snap your fragile neck and shove your head down the toilet."
Banner was still struggling to control his emotions, grabbing Bronsky's arm and desperately pleading, "No, he'll kill everyone! He was extremely unstable the last time he came out! Don't let him out again."
Banner tried to explain, but Bronsky didn't care. The injection of the super soldier serum not only enhanced his strength but also boosted his confidence, to the point of arrogance.
"Then let's say goodbye." Bronsky tightened his grip, and a cracking sound slowly rang out as he snapped Banner's cervical vertebrae inch by inch. But halfway through, he suddenly couldn't break the vertebra, and then Bronsky's hand was pried open.
Then Bronsky found himself being grabbed by Hulk and pulled up. Hulk looked at Bronsky and roared, "Hulk! I don't want to eat! Puffs!"
Then Bronsky was kicked away by the enraged Hulk!
Tony looked at Bronsky in the air and compared them, concluding that he flew much more beautifully.
