Chapter 38
It's normal for villains to talk a lot.
Tony looked completely innocent. Was this some new show arranged by Jarvis? But before Tony could answer, Jarvis's voice rang out.
"Alarm! Alarm! Someone has broken into the villa!"
As the alarm sounded, the various weapons that had once been pointed at Tony emerged from the walls, all pointing towards the doorway.
Tony pulled Pepper behind him and then looked at the screen next to him.
Jarvis then projected the surveillance footage onto the screen.
The villa gate was rammed open by a giant armored vehicle bearing the Stark Industries logo. Then, the door opened and several burly men, each two meters tall, stepped out. Their clothes were so tight they looked like they had suddenly gained weight and hadn't had time to buy new clothes. The clothes looked like they might come ripped at any moment.
The exposed skin has bulging muscles and blood vessels that look like they're about to explode. If you look closely, you can even see the blood vessels pulsating.
Jarvis's facial recognition function was activated, and information about several people was quickly pushed onto the screen.
Claude, Schneider, and Peters were all Obadiah's bodyguards.
"Did Obadiah hire these bodyguards from a bodybuilding competition or a gay bar?" Tony couldn't help but mutter, looking at these guys who looked remarkably like alchemists.
Jarvis began to supplement the information based on Tony's words: "Claude, former retired Marine Corps member; Schnecker, former member of the FBI Witness Protection Unit..." Jarvis announced as he spoke, displaying the files of the individuals.
Finally, it was added: "According to recent monitoring data of these individuals, there have been no changes in their body shape, but there is no abnormal condition."
Jarvis's addition gave Tony a bad feeling, and he quickly ordered, "Activate the defensive weapons and attack them."
Following Tony's orders, the automatic weapons outside began to fire, mainly non-lethal weapons such as stun guns. After all, it was a residence, and in the original comics, Tony didn't expect to be directly attacked by militants.
Although it was a stun gun, it was still a Stark product, fast and accurate, easily hitting several strong men.
Then the wires began to discharge, and the flashes of light blurred the monitor for a moment.
The electric shock that was supposed to knock down the wild boar was expected to easily knock down the bodyguards, but in reality, the burly men's expressions remained unchanged. Apart from the places on their clothes that were hit by the shock starting to smoke due to the high temperature, there was no other sign of being shocked. The bodyguards grabbed the wire and tore it off.
Pepper exclaimed, "Are they even human? Tony, what's going on? Are these Obadiah's super soldiers?"
Tony wasn't sure either, but based on the original plot, he already had a guess.
Several more people got out of the armored vehicle. Finally, Obadiah got out of the vehicle, but this time Obadiah was no longer the slightly balding old man he used to be. He was now a strong, bald old man. He had become stronger and bald at the same time.
As soon as he got out of the car, Obadiah shouted, "Tony, you didn't expect this, did you! I'm here!"
Tony's voice blared from the speaker: "I really didn't expect this. Did you go to a gay bar? With so many muscular men around, are women no longer enough for you?"
Unexpectedly, Tony used such vulgar language, which caused Obadiah to freeze for a few seconds, but he quickly recovered.
"Hmph, all you've got is a sharp tongue. I'll show you what happens when you anger me."
Obama waved his hand, and the bodyguards rushed towards the house gate.
The security system at the door activated, and the massive metal door rose, attempting to prevent the bodyguards from entering.
The bodyguard suddenly accelerated, rushing to the metal door before it closed, leaving afterimages, and reached out to brace the closing metal door.
As the hydraulic system controlling the metal door was pressurized, the entire metal door began to creak. The bodyguards followed and began to push the metal door in the opposite direction.
As the creaking grew louder, the hydraulic system finally snapped open with a loud crack, and the metal door broke into several pieces.
Jarvis quickly took control of the weapons inside the house and began to fight back, firing stun guns and other weapons at Obadiah's bodyguards again.
This time, the bodyguards grabbed the stun gun needle with their bare hands, then pulled the stun gun off, which crackled and sparked as it fell to the ground.
Finally, Obadiah strolled in and saw Tony and Pepper in the hall.
"It's good that you're all here, so I won't have to go looking for you one by one."
Seeing that the stun gun wasn't working, Pepper said to Jarvis, "Jarvis, contact the company's security department and call the police."
Obadiah sneered, but before he could say anything, Jarvis explained to Pepper.
"All wireless signals have been blocked, and the underground lights have been deliberately sabotaged. Now I can only control all wired devices inside the villa."
Tony also explained: "That armored vehicle is a T-32 experimental model with electromagnetic shielding capabilities. Once activated, all signals will be blocked, whether friend or foe. Because of this, it was considered to have no commercial value and has been sitting in a warehouse."
"That's right, not only that, he also has another function," Obadiah added.
Tony knew about this feature too: "It can also bypass radar detection and carry small ballistic missiles as a mobile launcher. Why did you bring missiles? Between us, even if a missile explodes, you won't be able to escape."
"The missiles aren't for you." After saying that, Obadiah didn't say anything more and nodded to one of the bodyguards beside him.
The bodyguard took out a walkie-talkie and said a few words to the personnel remaining inside the armored vehicle. Then Tony and the others saw on the monitor that the top of the armored vehicle unfolded and a missile was exposed. The missile was very special; it was transparent in the middle, and a test tube could be seen inserted in the middle.
Tony looked at the test tube, feeling that things were starting to gravitate towards his worst-case scenario, and couldn't help but ask:
"What is that?"
Instead of answering directly, Obadiah asked, "Tony, you've never talked about your experiences in the Middle East, and you even bombed that region with missiles. What are you trying to hide, what are you trying to bury?"
Upon hearing Obadiah's words, Tony knew his premonition was right. Sure enough, once he opened Pandora's box, he was no longer in control.
"Are these guys your creations?" Tony asked, pointing to the bodyguards who were so strong they looked inhuman.
Obadiah nodded in affirmation, "Yes, perfect human enhancement. I don't know why you gave up researching this miraculous power, but from the moment I saw the video, I knew this was the future."
"Video? What video? I didn't film any videos." Tony's first thought was that the videos he had recently had Jarvis film had been leaked, and he quickly emphasized his innocence to Pepper.
Obadiah, perhaps feeling confident of victory, patiently explained.
"You didn't expect that there were surveillance cameras in the Ten Rings Gang's camp, and the Ten Rings Gang dug him out."
"There's surveillance footage? I really didn't notice that." Tony glanced at the bodyguards' attitude; they were all very relaxed and didn't seem to take him seriously. It seemed the surveillance footage didn't capture the latter part of the incident.
