Chapter 1082
Satisfaction
Chapter 1082 Satisfaction
“Of course, of course, Vader.”
Professor McGonagall picked up her quill without hesitation and signed the application. When she looked up again, her voice was much softer than usual:
“I’m glad you brought this up. I hope you can do even better than last year.”
Wade nodded: "I will, Professor."
“Also,” Professor McGonagall said with a smile, “if you need assistance from professors at the university, you can make a request at any time… any professor of any subject will do, and I will help you make the connection.”
Wade thanked him again, picked up the application, and left Professor McGonagall's office.
Standing in the corridor, he looked back at the closed office door and couldn't help but feel a little emotional, recalling Professor McGonagall's gratified and joyful expression just now.
These professors were already busy enough, but Professor McGonagall, as the head of Gryffindor, vice-principal, and also handling many tasks that originally belonged to Dumbledore, was even busier.
Even so, outside of work, she still makes time to help students who want to learn, and is even willing to completely sacrifice her rest time for this.
It would be impossible to do this without a genuine love for teaching and nurturing students, and a wholehearted desire for the growth of each student.
It must be said that although the choice of professors in certain subjects is often prone to making mistakes, most of the professors at Hogwarts are indeed the best teachers that Wade could ever meet.
Compared to the problems of British Muggle boarding schools—bullying, abuse, rigid schedules, and staff neglect of student health—Hogwarts certainly appears warm and welcoming.
Considering these benefits, even Voldemort, who frequently makes his presence felt, is nothing special.
Wade withdrew his gaze and walked down the corridor. As soon as he turned the corner, he saw a group of people crowded together.
Harry peered out, almost sticking half his body out;
Ron pulled him from behind, standing on tiptoe with his neck stretched out.
Theo and Ryan paced back and forth anxiously.
Next to her was Padma, who was standing against the railing with her arms crossed, her fingertips constantly tapping her arms.
Michael, on the other hand, seemed more composed. He was sitting on the windowsill, reading a book.
Then it was Hermione's turn. She looked helplessly at Neville, who was muttering to himself, and tried to calm him down.
Seeing Wade approach, Harry was the first to rush up, eagerly asking, "What did Professor McGonagall say?"
“Approved.” Wade waved the application form in his hand.
The corridor was silent for a second.
"Great!" Neville and Harry cheered, almost hugging each other.
“I knew it!” Ron pumped his fist and said to Hermione beside him, “Professor McGonagall had no chance of refusing; I knew it all along!”
Hermione rolled her eyes, not revealing that he had been so nervous that he had almost pinched his own arm until it turned purple.
Theo and Ryan bumped fists.
"Ha, suddenly I feel a bit of pressure!" Theo said in a low voice, "We can't afford to perform worse than the others!"
Ryan nodded seriously.
If either of them performs poorly, someone will always say – as expected of Hufflepuff, even in SSC, they are the dumbest.
Padma had already started mentally calculating her recent paper grades.
She imagined students from other colleges coming to borrow her homework, and hummed softly to herself:
[There has to be a condition... at least you need to master the copying spell. Otherwise, you'll lose my paper again, and I'll have to rewrite it... and those who copy word for word, forget about me lending it to them again...]
Michael smiled at the excited crowd, closed his book, and walked over to Wade. "Smooth sailing?"
“That’s natural, just as you guessed.” Wade said, looking at everyone, “However… I’m a little surprised that everyone is so happy.”
“What’s the surprise?” Michael asked.
“I thought…” Wade said cautiously, “that some people might find the workshop activities troublesome… or perhaps they would prefer to maintain their advantage of being in SSC or something…”
While it may sound selfish, as members of the SSC, their grades do indeed have an easier time differentiating themselves from other students.
However, once the Spell Workshop begins, this difference becomes less noticeable.
Moreover, just like the high school student in Wade's previous life, who got into the best school and was in the top class through his own efforts—
Just casually mentioning their class brings an invisible sense of superiority and satisfaction.
The same is true for SSC; they are proud of where they are.
This is one of the reasons why SSC was able to continue even when Vader didn't participate in Umbrella House activities for a long time.
Stripping away the mystery diminishes the sense of satisfaction.
At that moment, while Wade thought some individuals might be reluctant, they had already begun to discuss with great enthusiasm when the workshop should be scheduled.
After all, apart from Wade, everyone else present had their time more precious than ever before because of OWLs, and coordinating a schedule where everyone was available was no easy task.
Upon hearing Wade's question, Michael couldn't help but laugh.
"You don't know, but last semester, other students often asked me—is there any chance that the Spells Workshop will be reopened?"
"Since they can't find you, they all come here to harass us."
Without Vader, there would be no Spell Workshop, so Michael and the others naturally couldn't give a definite answer.
But the feeling of facing the disappointed looks from classmates and friends, and their doubts about "eating alone," was absolutely awful.
Michael casually remarked, "When I say 'no' or 'I don't have time right now,' those guys look at me like I've been used and then abandoned."
Wade remained silent, but he could roughly imagine the scene.
Michael's gaze fell on the others—Harry was making the hand gestures for a spell, Neville was nodding repeatedly, Theo was interrupting, and Padma was laughing and patting him on the shoulder.
"And... we actually really like this feeling too."
Michael said, "Being needed, being recognized, and teaching others things they can't learn in the classroom... that sense of fulfillment is amazing."
Wade thought for a moment, nodded slightly, and said, "I understand."
"Wade!" Hermione waved her hand and said, "We've selected a few suitable times for the event. Which one is most convenient for you?"
Wade walked over, and Hermione was about to speak when a panting voice suddenly came from down the stairs:
"Wade! Wade!"
Everyone turned around and saw Rolf running towards them, his face flushed red, panting as he said:
“Percy…Percy Weasley…in the name of the Ministry of Magic…issued many new regulations…”
He leaned against the railing, catching his breath, and said urgently:
"There are too many... I... I can't repeat them all! You guys should go and take a look!"
