Chapter 697
Game World
Chapter 697 Game World
Wade turned his head, his pupils suddenly contracting.
The girl, who had just struggled to get up from the ground, suddenly fell down again. She groaned in pain as her body shrank rapidly and was buried in a pile of clothes in the blink of an eye, leaving only her dusty, fuzzy hair visible.
"What happened?" Harry couldn't help but whisper, "She's been shrunk!"
His face was full of disbelief, as if his worldview had been shattered, but he didn't connect it to himself at all.
At this point, Harry probably didn't yet realize that he was actually special.
Just then, a dark green leopard suddenly appeared. It looked at the girl on the ground, its expression seemingly shocked.
Wade stared at the leopard, utterly astonished.
Are there leopards of this color in nature?
Moreover, the patterns on its body look more and more like various plants the more you look at them.
The cheetah bared its teeth and walked slowly toward the girl on the ground with a dangerous expression. Before it got close, a blinding light suddenly shot out and pierced through the cheetah's abdomen!
The strange creature hissed, but no blood flowed from its abdomen; instead, there were only charred holes piercing through from both sides.
Startled, the cheetah leaped up instantly and swiftly disappeared from the courtyard.
Then, footsteps were heard, along with the voices of two people talking:
"That's dangerous! There are still contestants coming over! Weren't all the warriors eliminated by that kid?"
"You're so stupid, wasn't there just this one who slipped through the net?"
"Okay, I thought she would be killed by that leopard, that was my fault."
"Fortunately, there is this fog, so no matter how many wizards come, they will not pose a threat to us."
"But the leopard ran away; be careful it might come back."
"So what if we come back? Even if it's a puppet, it's just a wild beast. Do you think we'd be afraid of a wild beast?"
The two men did not try to hide their voices. They came out from behind the stone pillar. One of them was a slightly hunched man with a hideous scar on his face that stretched from his brow bone to the corner of his mouth.
He was carrying a strange-looking gun, which looked a bit like a water gun that children would like. It was colorful and had a small dolphin hanging on the top, full of childlike fun.
But the beam of light that pierced the cheetah's belly came from this cute "water gun".
The other person was a woman with tattoos on her body. She had an average appearance, short hair, and slightly dark skin. She had a fierce look on her face, which made her ordinary appearance uniquely charming.
She was covered in all sorts of weapons, making her look like a walking human arsenal.
The woman was also carrying a golden water jug. She stood far away from the golden mist, reached out, and tossed the golden water jug over.
The kettle landed steadily on the ground. Suddenly, as if the water inside had boiled, the lid jumped up, making a "gurgling" sound, and the slender spout opened and closed, as if swallowing something.
The golden mist transformed into a tiny tornado, swirling as it was swallowed by the golden kettle. Before long, the mist in the center of the open space vanished completely.
Wade gripped the rock, staring intently at the kettle, memorizing every detail.
If this thing shrunk them... then could we use it to turn them back to normal?
He looked around again and saw that the couple was standing right in the way of their escape route. No one would believe it was unintentional.
They probably already knew Harry and Wade were hiding here, but they were just playing cat and mouse, not in a hurry to catch them.
Or maybe...
Is it because they are wary of something that they would rather pretend not to care and not take action against the two of them without authorization?
Wade wondered to himself, then glanced at Harry beside him.
The child was completely captivated by the kettle, staring at it with his mouth agape, his face filled with amazement. However, his gaze kept darting towards the girl's direction, a hint of worry in his eyes. The shrunken girl lay motionless among a pile of clothes, only red blood spreading along the uneven cobblestone floor.
"Stop talking nonsense," the scarred man asked. "The live stream was interrupted, wasn't it?"
“Of course… but this method is truly amazing! To achieve live television broadcasting with just a small mirror.” The tattooed woman picked up the golden water bottle, her tone full of admiration.
"And the trophy, get it back as soon as possible, lest someone trace it back to us."
"Do you even need to tell me? As soon as the little rabbit arrived, someone went to collect the trophy! By the way, the communication pea is really super useful."
—Live TV broadcast? Communication peas? What are these guys talking about?
Wade thought he knew exactly what kind of world he was in, but now he was suddenly confused again.
The child next to me has the name "Harry Potter," but maybe it's just a game character with the same name?
At least in the world he knew, there shouldn't be such a thing as live streaming.
The world before my eyes is becoming less and less like a real magical world.
The two people not far away didn't have names above their heads—were they NPCs? Or high-level players?
Just as Vader's thoughts were rapidly drifting in a direction that was far removed from the truth, another loud bang suddenly came from the courtyard.
"boom!"
Vader held his breath and peered out through the gaps between the stone pillars.
A very thin man strode across the courtyard, clutching a golden trophy tightly in his hand.
He wore a tattered black robe, his hair was disheveled and stuck to his pale forehead, his eyes were sunken, his mouth twitched from time to time, and his face had a morbid fanaticism.
Wade frowned; he was extremely disgusted by this guy who looked like he had an antisocial personality.
Unlike the other two, the man had a string of characters waving above his head, presumably his character's name. However, it was too far away for Wade to see clearly.
He had a sudden inspiration. He used his thumb, index finger, and middle finger to form a small triangular hole, which he placed in front of his eyes like a viewfinder, and squinted to carefully examine the string of English words above the man's head.
Vader murmured to himself:
"Barty Crouch?"
He was suddenly jolted and almost cried out.
This appearance, this expression... he could only think of one person!
"Oh, you're back!"
The two people who had been speaking turned their gazes away, their expressions neither friendly nor hostile.
“I heard you got captured, Crouch.” The scarred man raised his eyes and said in a flat tone, “Are you alright?”
—Although it sounded like he was expressing concern, his expression and tone were more like asking, "Why aren't you dead yet?"
"Stop talking nonsense!" Barty growled hoarsely, his cold gaze sweeping around. "Where is everyone? We need to start the ceremony as soon as possible, lest Dumbledore come knocking on our door."
"Don't worry, those two little rabbits won't go far. We've tested them repeatedly—no matter how clever they were before, they're now just real kids, both mentally and emotionally."
The tattooed woman, speaking, turned with the scarred man to look at the spot where Wade and his companion were hiding, and smiled, raising the corners of her mouth:
"How could two children, who are at most five or six years old, escape from us?"
