Chapter 239

Waiting

Chapter 239 Waiting
Wade worked with Lupin and Sirius for most of the day before they were ready.

The clearing above the forest was surrounded by dense branches and nets. The wildly growing shrubs prevented any animals from entering, and the devil's nets hidden in the bushes ensured that not even a mouse could get in.

The surrounding areas are arranged with living environments suitable for different creatures, such as freshwater pools and seawater pools, such as small deserts and snowfields, and meteorological magic fixes them in their respective forms.

Wade was envious. He actually wanted to move these environments into his own wardrobe space and complete the Animagus transformation inside.

But Lupin refused.

“The closet space is safe and protected from the outside world, but you can’t deform there because it’s separated from the real nature.”

Lupin said: "The process of transformation requires you to establish a deep spiritual contract with your inner animal form, and this process is more likely to succeed in a natural environment."

"Although there is no evidence, there are many examples of failure when transforming in a closed room or cave. Therefore, wizards have summed up their experience - the first transformation of an Animagus must be performed in a wide area."

"And you know, Remus and I aren't that great with weather spells."

Sirius used ropes to tie several vines around wooden sticks and said, "These environments can only be maintained for a limited time. After ten days or half a month, they will gradually lose their magic power and will not be as useful as you think."

In fact, being able to sustain for ten days or half a month is already quite impressive. But it is still far from the environment in Scamander's suitcase space, which is almost the same as the natural world.

Vader could only sigh regretfully.

When he woke up the next morning, Vader checked the time, finished the spell as usual, then turned off the alarm that was about to scream, opened the curtains and looked outside.

The sky was overcast and the air was extremely humid, making it seem a little difficult to breathe.

It looks like the clouds in the sky are brewing a heavy rainstorm.

Wade washed up and walked downstairs with anticipation.

Lupin was sitting at the table flipping through a book. When he heard footsteps, he looked up and smiled, "Today's breakfast is fried toast and oatmeal porridge. What would you like to drink? Orange juice, black tea, or milk?"

"Remus, you didn't sleep last night?" Wade asked in surprise, smelling the fragrance in the air.

He had gotten up with the sun, which was early enough, but he didn't expect Lupin to have even prepared breakfast.

"I slept, I just got up early." Lupin said with a gentle smile.

"Don't be so anxious." Wade sat down and picked up the toast, saying, "It's just an Animagus transformation. It should be familiar to you."

Lupin smiled.

Perhaps because he had seen too many Animagus failures recently, Lupin was more worried about his transformation than Vader himself. His mood changes were like the weather outside the room: the darker the clouds, the worse his mood.

Wade was much calmer.

He had been preparing for this day for a long time.

Just like a final exam, a whole semester's hard work was only verified in the last exam. He had done enough preparation in the early stages, so when the real exam came, he felt that it was just ordinary.

After breakfast, Wade took a book about biology from the bookshelf. It contained the limb structure, bone and muscle distribution, living habits, etc. of various animals.

They have almost read the book to pieces, but Vader still doesn't know what his animal form is.

It is said that only before the transformation, the creature to be transformed will appear in the mind. If there is hesitation, fear or regret at that time, the Animagus transformation is likely to fail, or worse - the transformation is incomplete, retaining too many human characteristics, or even turning into a monster.

While reading the book, Wade couldn't help but wonder: Banshees... and Centaurs... Could their birth be the result of failed magic cast by wizards in ancient times?
Of course, this unfounded conjecture is doomed to be unverifiable. If those two races hear it, they might even get beaten.

He read for more than an hour before Sirius pushed open the door and walked in.

"Hey, Remus, what delicious did you make?"

……

After breakfast, the three of them spent some time doing nothing in the living room, and then they felt that they couldn't wait any longer, so they simply went for a walk in the village.

Wade bought some school supplies, some small gifts for the others, and a pack of gag products for the Weasley twins.

They sat at the Three Broomsticks for a while. Madam Rosmerta was no stranger to Vader, and she brought Vader a glass of completely non-alcoholic butterbeer. From the color point of view, it was no different from other people's beer, and even the foam was very similar.

It was only from Ms. Rosmerta that Wade learned that the butterbeer she gave to most people was made by boiling ordinary beer and then adding melted butter.

Non-alcoholic beer is made from milk, brown sugar, butter, vanilla powder and other ingredients, and is a little more expensive than the former.

"I usually only provide this to girls and children." Madam Rosmerta leaned against the counter and said with a smile: "Poor Vader, who made you unable to drink?"

Lupin put his hand on Wade's shoulder and said, "He is still a child now!"

"Oh, yes, I forgot." Rosmerta teased, "Maybe because he is always with adults, I forgot his age too."

"Ma'am, give me another beer."

Sirius put down the empty glass and said to Wade, "There's nothing wrong with drinking a little bit of alcohol, Wade. If you give it up, you're giving up part of the fun of life. When I was in Azkaban, I always missed the taste of this place."

He looked drunk after drinking only a little, and his grey eyes looked dim and cloudy.

"Sirius!" said Lupin suddenly.

"Yeah, I'm awake!"

Sirius nodded twice, drank the refilled glass in one gulp, and then packed a few bottles of butterbeer with Madam Rosmerta.

"When you succeed..." he said to Wade, "We'll drink to celebrate."

But when the three of them stepped out of the bar, Sirius, who seemed a little drunk, immediately sobered up. He looked at the sky and cursed in a low voice: "Shit!"

Wade also raised his head, and the moisture-laden wind blew against his face, bringing a slight chill.

got windy.

The rain lines are like silk.

It was not the storm they were waiting for.
