Chapter 464

Rain and Umbrella

Chapter 464 Rain and Umbrella

Wade felt that as soon as he arrived at school, time seemed to be accelerated. It began to pass in weeks. Before he knew it, he realized that Monday had turned into Friday, and then it was the weekend.

The students who were preparing to go to Hogsmeade village had already put on gloves and scarves and were waiting at the school gate.

"Don't forget the Boggart training, Vader!"

As he jumped off the carriage, Michael waved and shouted, then left with Harry and the others.

Wade smiled and nodded, then saw Khalil also waved goodbye to his Gryffindor friends and walked towards Wade, breathing heavily.

"Damn it!" Caryl put his hands in his pockets and complained, "It's so damn cold!"

"If you don't wear one less sweater to look more handsome, you will find that today's temperature is actually quite comfortable." Wade curled the corners of his mouth and smiled.

"I'm stronger than you. They said I looked like a bear because I was wearing too much. My home is far away."

Khalil took Wade and the two walked along the path between the houses to the edge of the village.

"Who are they?" Wade asked from behind.

"Just…girls."

"Then you should find someone who can appreciate your strength, instead of trying to please a group of girls who laugh at you for looking like a bear." Wade said, "Besides, they won't think you look handsome when you wear less clothes, they will just think you look stupid."

"I lied to you...I'm not cold." Khalil said stubbornly.

"Your nose is about to freeze." Wade ruthlessly exposed his disguise.

As soon as the words fell, they were both stunned for a moment, and suddenly they felt like they were back in their childhood.

At that time, Khalil was also making mistakes all day long and doing stupid things that others couldn't understand. Wade, who was pulled out to play with them, kept complaining about him.

Khalil actually knew that Vader was right most of the time, but because he thought it was fun, he just did what he wanted to do, usually without considering the consequences.

So after a day of playing, when they come home, Wade is still clean, but Khalil is often covered with bruises, and he can't even explain how he got the injuries.

But, those days were really happy!
Khalil's pace became slower and slower, and when a wooden house almost obscured by tall trees appeared at the end of his sight, he suddenly stopped.

"Vade?"

"Ok?"

"I told you that you could bring some friends...why didn't you bring them?"

"I'm a guest. It would be inappropriate for me to bring other guests without being invited. Besides, Michael and the others already have plans for today."

"Then you informed...did you tell any professor?"

"I went to your house to play for a long time, why did you inform the professor?" Wade's voice sounded a little surprised: "Khalil, what do you want to say?"

"nothing."

Khalil walked forward with his head down, but after a few steps he found that the footsteps behind him were not following.

He turned his head and saw Wade standing there. The shadows of the houses on both sides cast a shadow on him, as if he was about to be engulfed by the darkness, but his light gray eyes seemed to be washed by moonlight, calm and bright.

The morning sun shone on Khalil, but he could not feel any warmth. Instead, he felt a chill that penetrated his heart and made his hands and feet cold.

Khalil forced a smile and asked, "Why don't you leave, Wade?"

"Do you want to talk to me, Khalil?" Vader said, "Right now, right here... Is there anything you want to say?"

Khalil was silent for a moment, then asked, "…what?"

"I don't know... maybe anything."

Wade said, "For example, how your parents came to Hogsmeade, the purpose of this invitation, your experience before entering Hogwarts...anything you want to talk about. If you need it, you know I can help you."

Khalil smiled helplessly and said, "You are also a student, how can you help me?"

"Don't be so evasive. You know what I mean, Khalil," Wade said calmly. For a moment, several conversations with Dumbledore flashed through his mind.

……

The old man who rarely showed up except at dinner time was not staying in the principal's office all day writing letters, reading newspapers and playing with figurines. Behind the scenes, he also did many things that others could not imagine -

Presided over the Wizengamot trial, helped the Ministry of Magic solve various problems, investigated Voldemort, prevented the expansion of Grindelwald's power... and of course, investigated a certain vampire student.

"Ved, I think Khalil should have realized some problems, such as his current parents are not his real parents."

Dumbledore sat in the high-backed chair with a look of pity on his face and sighed softly.

"I had planned to tell him the truth before the holidays and help him get rid of that so-called vampire family once and for all, but Khalil refused."

"He has other plans in mind, and he doesn't want me to know about them. He also doesn't want to get rid of that fake couple. I think that kid seems to be planning to do something very dangerous."

"So what are you going to do, Professor?" Wade asked, "Wouldn't it be easier to just kill the pair of adult vampires?"

"Be patient, Vader. The vampires seem to be gathering. And I also want to give the kid a chance… He's not even fourteen yet. He deserves a chance to correct himself."

……

"This is an opportunity, Khalil," Wade said. "When we get into that house, maybe everything will be different. But now, you can still turn back."

Khalil suddenly smiled: "You still informed Dumbledore, didn't you?"

"of course."

"You know what he has to do today? He'll be too busy to be there."

"I trust Dumbledore."

"Ha! Believe it! It must feel good to have the most powerful wizard in the world grant you whatever you ask for." Khalil sneered, "I'm really jealous of you, Wade. Why has misfortune never befallen you?"

"Is that what you think?" Wade asked calmly, "because you got caught in the rain, so you hope I don't have an umbrella either?"

Khalil had never heard of this saying before. He was slightly stunned when he heard it, but he quickly understood it. Then he gritted his teeth and said, "If you had experienced what I have experienced, you might not be as calm as you are now, Shakespeare!"

"I'm not as ignorant as you think, Khalil," Wade said. "If we were in a different place, I would definitely take revenge, but I would never pass the tragedy on to my friends."

"Revenge?" Khalil said angrily and unconvincedly, "What's the use of revenge? It can't change anything!"

"Will there be benefits if we obey those people's orders?" Wade asked back.

Khalil's nostrils twitched and he looked extremely angry, but he did not continue to argue.

"I'm going to return what I just said to you, Wade - you still have a chance to turn back, but you'd better run faster, because my enthusiastic friends will soon catch up with you. Or you can continue to move forward, but I have to remind you that Dumbledore, whom you trust, may not always be able to protect you."

The two stared at each other, and Khalil's wand poked out from his sleeve.

He seemed to be convinced that Wade would knock him down first. His whole body was tense and he was ready to cast a spell at any time.

After a few extra long seconds, Wade suddenly walked out from the shadows in the corner, walked past Khalil, and headed towards the old wooden house.

Khalil was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly followed.

Now it was Wade in front and Khalil in the back. He looked at the back of this person who seemed to be defenseless against him. His eyes struggled more violently than ever before. His fingers curled up slightly. He tried to lift them up several times, but then put them down again.

It seemed like just a trance, and the wooden house was already right in front of me.

The house had been through so many years of wind and rain that the walls looked crooked, but it miraculously stood firm. The garden was overgrown with weeds, and there was only a thin path leading to the door.

Wade vaguely felt that someone was looking at him, and when he turned around, he saw only the rough window frame.

He couldn't see the name of the person inside because of the wooden wall, but then a slightly plump woman came out.

She was wearing an apron, clasping her hands, dressed like a maid, and said with a smile: "Oh, dear Carl, and this handsome little guest, please come in... They have been waiting for a long time!"
