Chapter 502

Crouch and Bertha

Chapter 502 Crouch and Bertha
As the only heir of the Black family, Sirius was young, wealthy, handsome, capable, loyal and brave. Although he always had an impatient expression on his face, people kept coming to harass him.

Wade and Harry quickly finished their lunch and left the tent, followed immediately by Lupin.

"Where are you going, boys?" asked Lupin.

"Go talk to Michael." Harry said, "I remember Michael and his family are here too, right?"

He looked at Vader and asked.

"Yes," Weed said, "He told me that their tent is in the northwest corner, near the water source."

"I know that place." Lupin said with a smile, "I'll go with you so you don't get lost."

This was of course an excuse, because there were many children in the camp who had not yet gone to school and were running around, and their parents were very relieved because even if they got lost for a while, they had magic that could quickly find them.

But Harry felt that Lupin might not want to be a decoration next to Sirius, so he used them as an excuse to leave.

He was kind enough not to expose Lupin's thoughts, pretending that he was a baby who still needed the care of his elders, and said with a smile: "Okay, it saves me from going back to get the map."

Vader glanced up, just in time to see Lupin and Sirius exchange a look, followed by a slight nod.

He understood that because the two knew that Harry was being targeted by Voldemort again, they were worried about him moving out of the sight of adults.

The three of them walked towards the water source together. On the way, Wade saw many wizards holding kettles and buckets, and some even lined up next to the faucets.

Obviously, the water problem can be solved by just a spring water spell, but many wizards seem to be immersed in this "role-playing" game and join the team with great interest.

But their acting was not thorough enough. Wade saw many people fill their buckets with water, then secretly use levitation spells to lighten their burdens, and then carry the buckets back with light steps.

However, even in the northwest corner near the water source, the tents here were endless as far as the eye could see. The three of them walked slowly among them, looking for familiar faces.

Wade didn't find Michael, but he saw Qiu Zhang, who was with her parents. The three of them all had typical oriental looks, gentle and elegant, with a very special temperament.

Wade couldn't help but look at him twice more. When he looked away, he saw that Harry's face was red and he had an unconscious silly smile on his face.

"Cough, cough!" Wade clenched his fist and coughed twice.

Harry was startled and almost fell down. He scratched his hair and pulled his tie in confusion, trying to cover up his mistake: "You...you were looking at Qiu Zhang just now...do you like her?"

"No." Wade made up an excuse: "I originally wanted to ask her if she knew which direction Michael's tent was, but then I thought it would be inconvenient to disturb her."

As Harry breathed a sigh of relief, he heard Wade add, "Also, Qiu Zhang seems to have a boyfriend."

"What? How could it be? Really?" Harry asked three questions, then looked away and touched his nose: "I... I don't mean anything else... I just want to ask..."

"I heard it was Cedric from Hufflepuff," said Wade.

He is not actually a gossipy person, but he has a gossipy friend who is very close to the girls. Qiu Zhang is beautiful and gentle, and is a celebrity in Ravenclaw. Her love life changes will soon become news in the school.

Hearing Cedric's name, Harry's heart suddenly sank. Thinking of that tall and handsome man, who could win the favor of many Gryffindor girls just by his face, Harry felt heavy in his heart, as if filled with lead, and lowered his head and didn't want to speak.

Vader turned around and shrugged, and Lupin smiled helplessly and shook his head.

"Mr. Crouch, people from the Egyptian Ministry of Magic have arrived. Minister Fudge needs your help in translating!"

A young voice came from not far away. Lupin paused slightly, and before his brain could react, he had reached out and pushed Wade and Harry to a nearby blue-green tent.

Before Harry could even utter a sound of surprise, Lupin covered his mouth. Then, Lupin raised his index finger to signal for silence, and both boys nodded.

Then, several people passed by the tent. Wade blinked and looked over there.

Barty Crouch was dressed in a suit, but his hair was a little messy, and he had deep dark circles around his eyes and looked very tired.

The person who spoke was a young Ministry of Magic employee wearing glasses and looking a little anxious.

Next to him was a round-faced girl with a look of being out of shape and a blank look in her big blue eyes, but she was also wearing the uniform of a Ministry of Magic employee.

"The Egyptian Ministry of Magic?" Crouch asked. "Aren't they arriving tomorrow?"

"No, it's today, Mr. Crouch." The clerk with glasses said with some surprise: "You confirmed it with me once yesterday, did you forget?"

"Oh... yes... yes, that's right." A trace of embarrassment flashed across Crouch's face. He said, "I've been too busy lately and I kind of forgot - where are they?"

The clerk with glasses pointed Barty Crouch in the direction and watched him leave in a hurry. After he had walked away, he shook his head and said with emotion:
"Although Mr. Crouch knows more than 200 languages, he will become forgetful as he ages! Bertha, did you infect him with your own stupidity?"

He made a joke that wasn't funny, and the round-faced girl next to him had only one reaction: "...Huh?"

"Forget it, forget it. I still have to register the wizards who use the portkeys. You can just walk around the camp and stop anyone you see using magic indiscriminately. Be strict. Do you understand?"

"Oh, all right." Bertha nodded hurriedly, picked a direction at random, and wandered away.

The clerk with glasses shook his head helplessly and sighed: "Why are all my colleagues like this? Even the reliable Mr. Crouch has started to fail..."

After they had all gone far away, Lupin and the other two came out from the corner.

Wade looked in the direction Bertha left and saw that the girl seemed to have quickly forgotten her mission. When she saw a child's toy broom flying up a tree and couldn't be taken down, she waved her wand to help get it down, and received a wet kiss from the child to express her gratitude.

"So forgetful... She must be the first person to sacrifice during Voldemort's resurrection in the original book... Bertha Jorkins..."

Wade thought to himself that when he saw the girl walking aimlessly, swaying her body, he seemed to see a small shift in his fate due to the butterfly effect.

"Who are those people?" Harry asked Lupin curiously, "Why should we avoid them?"
