Chapter 544
Anthony’s Request
Chapter 544 Anthony’s Request
After the dinner, Wade's first thing was to find Professor McGonagall and get the time-turner back.
The flames in the fireplace flickered slightly. Professor McGonagall sat in a chair, her expression much gentler than when she was in the hall.
"Sit down, Vader."
Professor McGonagall took out the box containing the time-turner from the cabinet, opened it, but did not hand it to him immediately.
"I know you have a lot more free time for classes now, and you can still manage it even without using the Time Turner...but I still applied for this time turner for you."
Professor McGonagall looked into Wade's eyes and said in a serious and earnest voice, "Because I also know that you have assigned yourself a lot of tasks. Even if the time is doubled, it will not be enough. So you really need a time turner."
Vader smiled and said, "Indeed, thank you very much for your help, Professor."
"Then you must remember the taboos of using the Time Turner?" asked Professor McGonagall.
Wade nodded. "You cannot directly interfere with what has already happened. You cannot use it for more than five hours. You cannot use it frequently at the same time. You can only use it for learning. You cannot use it for other purposes. And... you must not tell anyone else."
Professor McGonagall's mouth curled up slightly, and soon returned to her serious expression. She pushed the box in front of Wade and said, "Very good, remember to strictly follow the rules."
"I will."
Vader said as he took out the converter, hung the long gold chain around his neck, and tucked the hourglass into his collar.
"One more thing," Professor McGonagall said, "If you plan to participate in the league, remember - you must not use the time turner to influence the outcome of the game, understand?"
"Of course." Wade said, "If I have to cheat to win, then I would rather admit that I lost."
Professor McGonagall gave a barely perceptible smile: "Very good, Wade, you can go back."
……
Watching the student she was quite proud of leave the office, Professor McGonagall untied her tight bun and nodded her left ear.
Then he heard Flitwick's impatient voice: "Well, well? Minerva, did Vader go get the Time-Turner? What did he say?"
"Weid just left." Professor McGonagall poured herself a glass of butter beer, stood in front of the window, looked at the Black Lake in the distance, and said, "You guessed wrong. He is ready to participate in this league."
After two seconds, Flitwick asked sharply, "Are you sure? He's really going to attend?"
"Yes, I have spoken to him." Professor McGonagall said firmly.
"awesome!"
Flitwick on the other end of the line jumped up happily. "I thought he definitely didn't like this kind of publicity! I've been thinking about how to persuade him to participate for several days!"
Professor McGonagall smiled and said, "It seems that this child is younger and more energetic than you thought..."
"Haha... maybe he decided to participate for the honor of Hogwarts." Professor Flitwick shook his head excitedly: "If you ask me, as long as Wade participates, the trophy will definitely belong to Hogwarts!"
Professor McGonagall was not so optimistic. She took a sip of wine with a hint of worry in her eyes.
"Of course I believe in his ability, but compared to adults, Vader's magic is still a little lacking. There must be very outstanding students in other schools."
She sighed and said, "Besides, the scale of this league is unprecedented, with eleven schools participating... The level of danger is definitely much higher than before, and anything can happen during the game..."
"And Dumbledore is watching! The Ministry of Magic has learned from the previous World Cup and will certainly attach great importance to the safety of the game." Professor Flitwick said optimistically: "Minerva, you really should see the spells that Wade showed me... It's absolutely perfect! He is now fully qualified to get the NEWTs certificate for the Charms class!"
"The same goes for my Transfiguration class, but the competition requires more than just a perfect spell. There's something else required..."
Professor McGonagall said softly, "For example, trust your companions, and seek help when necessary. Another example is... be prepared for means outside the arena."
Flitwick stroked his chin and said thoughtfully, "I see... I'll talk to him again. Thank you for the reminder, Minerva! It's really helpful!"
After the call was disconnected, Professor McGonagall heard two "beep-beep" sounds in her ears and blinked blankly.
——What did Filius understand?
……
When Wade returned to the lounge, he saw that everyone else had gone back to sleep, except for Anthony Goldstein, who was sitting in front of the fireplace, reading a book called "Practical Defensive Magic".
A cat, owned by someone unknown, was lying on the table above the fireplace, with its tail hanging down and swaying from side to side.
Wade looked at the cat and confirmed that it was just an ordinary pet. He walked over and sat opposite Anthony and asked, "Anthony, is there anything I can help with?"
Anthony put down the book, hesitated, and asked: "Wade, will you participate in this league?"
Vader nodded and said, "Of course."
Anthony let out a breath and smiled easily: "I feel relieved if you say that."
"Don't worry?" Wade asked curiously, "Why?"
"Because of this, I won't have to lose sleep because of fantasies about how I should reply to the many fans who write to me after I win the championship," Anthony said seriously.
Wade was speechless: "Is this what you are looking for me for?"
"Hahaha... of course not."
Anthony smiled, then put down the book in his hand, wiped his face, sighed and said, "I have an aunt who married in Russia. She told me that the students of Kodos Dorris received the news a few months ago. They selected a group of the best students and trained for at least two months for the competition."
Wade didn't say anything, he already knew these things.
"There are also the Institute of Magic, Ilvermorny, Durmstrang... other schools are almost all training students in advance, especially Durmstrang. Do you know which school teaches students the dark arts?"
"I've heard of it," said Vader.
"So I'm a little worried... I asked Professor Flitwick if Hogwarts has any training plans, but the professor said no..."
Anthony said helplessly: "But Professor Flitwick also said that if we organize ourselves to train and study, the school will not be able to prohibit..."
At this point, Wade already knew why he was looking for him.
Sure enough, Anthony then said, "Wade, I know you're very busy, but...if we don't want to embarrass Hogwarts in the league, someone has to lead us in training...and that person can only be you!"
