Chapter 758

Daily life

Chapter 758 Daily life
Inside the alchemy room of the wardrobe space, the oak desk was piled with all kinds of alchemical materials and large books. Several magical puppets came and went, constantly bringing in new books and then taking away the discarded ones.

Two people who looked exactly alike were sitting in the room. One was quickly browsing through documents, while the other was intently stirring a crucible, adding something to it every ten seconds or so.

Recently, Cornelius, the Muggle scientist whom Wade recruited, has made quite a few achievements, one of which is replicating the hormone that forced Lupin to transform, though it's unknown how effective it will be.

If this hormone is successful, then Cornelius may be able to develop a corresponding inhibitor, preventing werewolves from transforming even on a full moon due to insufficient hormone secretion.

At this point, live werewolf experiments were inevitable. Cornelius even mustered up his courage and, through Wade's connections, invited two volunteers to participate in the drug trials.

To ensure the safety of this defenseless Muggle old man, Vader decided to build a sturdy cage for his test subject and prepare various potions to subdue the werewolves if they went out of control.

Suddenly, the travel cloak draped over the back of the chair moved on its own, sliding down gracefully and drifting through the air. Finally, a corner of the cloak rolled up and revealed an invitation written in gold ink, which was presented to the boy who was stirring the cauldron like a treasure.

"Look at this! How beautiful it is! Master, are you going to participate?" the cloak exclaimed.

Wade glanced at the invitation; it was from a high-ranking official inviting him to a banquet.

He smiled and said, "Thanks, but it's not important, I'm not going."

"Great!" the cloak asked excitedly. "Can I keep it?"

“Okay… how do you plan to collect it?” Wade asked.

"Look, like this!"

A sharp blade suddenly emerged from the edge of the cloak, cutting around the invitation to shave off the particularly gleaming wax emblem. It then stuck it to itself, twirling around triumphantly.

"How is it? It looks great, doesn't it?"

The boy, busy reviewing documents, took a break, glanced up, and said, "What? Are you switching sides? Master, look at this guy! It's trying to betray us; it should be dealt with!"

"Wow, you, Viser! I even helped you out last time! Is this how you repay me?!"

Enraged, the cloak tore off its emblem and threw it aside before lunging forward, grabbing Viser, and starting a fight.

The two puppets were like destructive huskies, rumbling from east to west and rolling back. Seeing this, the two gorilla puppets who were carrying books stood silently next to Vader, acting as a defensive wall.

Michal cautiously peeked in through the window and, seeing the two puppets fighting so fiercely, immediately put on a vivid, mocking expression.

Wade sighed helplessly, turned around, and decided to avoid seeing it altogether.

Just then, a tinkling sound came from outside—someone had come in.

Not many people can enter Wade's wardrobe space without prior notice. The doorbell has a personalized background music for each person. For example, at this moment, Wade knows that it is his mother Fiona as soon as he hears this light and cheerful tune.

A moment later, the door to the alchemy room was gently pushed open a crack, and a tiny puppet, no bigger than the palm of your hand, was deftly maintaining its balance.

With a thick stack of newspapers and several letters on its head, it struggled to open the door, then trotted over to Wade with its short legs, raised the things on its head with both hands, and handed them over on tiptoe!
The front edge of the newspaper was raised slightly by 0.5 centimeters.

Wade took it, both amused and exasperated, and said, "Thank you, Coco, you've really gone to a lot of trouble."

He removed the crucible from the fire, wiped his hands, and then went to look through the newspapers and letters. Coco smiled, put her hands behind her back, and turned to continue working, satisfied.

Fiona stood at the door, smiling as she watched Coco leave before coming in herself, carrying a plate of fruit.

“These little ones have taken all my work away from me,” she said with a smile. “If I hadn’t insisted, Lena would have been the one bringing this fruit.”

“Or maybe Dobby?” the puppet Viser chimed in. “I think I see him three times a day.”

“Yes, yes!” the cloak couldn’t help but agree loudly. “Aren’t we the puppets? But I always feel like Dobby has some kind of program in his head that makes him work hard! I’m the cloak, and sometimes I want to slack off too!”

"You sound quite proud?" Viser retorted.

Wade had a piece of apple stuffed into his mouth by his mother, and his cheeks were bulging as he ate, leaving him no time to speak.

Fiona put down the fruit plate and couldn't resist reaching out to pat Viser's fluffy head.

She still finds it incredible—this boy who looks exactly like another son is actually a puppet!
The sight of two identical Vaders sitting together was hilarious. After a brief moment of astonishment, Fiona started to think of herself as having given birth to twins and would come in to see them every day.

As a dutiful Stand puppet, Viser never appears alongside Wade, even within the Gray family. The only way to see the two of them together is in the wardrobe space.

However, no matter how curious and eager they were, the Grays restrained themselves, only occasionally coming in to deliver something or take a quick look, so as not to disturb Wade's research.

Fiona did the same thing today. She ruffled Viser's hair, hugged her son, and then left the wardrobe space with light steps.

"Ah, an apple." The cloaked figure jumped up, forked a small piece, and teased the firebird Mihal at the window. "Want to try it? If you do, just call out to Brother Cloak! Then I'll give you a taste...sucking sounds..."

Mihar gave it a hostile look, then suddenly opened its mouth—

"boom!"

A burst of flame shot out, not very hot, but it burned the apple black, and black smoke billowed from the cloak's hood, making it scream in pain.

A relaxed smile unconsciously crept onto Vader's lips. At that moment, it seemed as if Voldemort, dark magic, spies, and judgment had all become very, very far away from him.

He leaned back comfortably in his chair, eating fruit as he opened a few letters.

First came a letter with slightly messy handwriting, signed Harry. He was currently visiting the Weasleys and spending all his time with them, having a great time. Hermione would be joining them in a couple of days.

Then came Theo's letter; they were vacationing in Northern Europe and apparently visited many ancient magical ruins.

Skipping over Gringotts' financial report, the next letter was from Michael. Just as Wade was about to pick it up, another letter slipped out.

He paused slightly before he could even see the name clearly.

This thin, circular handwriting... there's no doubt the letter came from Dumbledore.

I'm experiencing writer's block... One chapter tonight. I'll make up for it tomorrow.
